Came primarily for the Peking duck and the skin was super crispy and thick and I think it’s due to deep frying, and the wraps were way too thick. I definitely prefer this dish elsewhere because the thick and dry wraps ruined this dish for me. Plus the duck skin was more like pork skin. We came during lunch on a Saturday and we had reservations but the restaurant was not crowded. We also ordered dishes off the regular and the lunch menu and all the dishes were flavorful but the meat quality for some of the dishes was not the best. We ordered walnut shrimp, beef with broccoli, Shanghai pork ribs, on choy with garlic, basil fish filet, and our duck order included a dish of sautéed bean sprouts with duck meat. Restaurant décor is nice and good for large groups. Service was attentive. But the duck needs work. However, if I was in the area, I may came back to dine during lunch if with a large group.

The place remodeled recently with menu adjustment. Some of the new items are interesting and delicious. The services didn’t improve much. Would come back again to try the remaining new items.

Love this place for business meeting and pow-wow with my friends!!! Normally Chinese restaurants are dirty and old school feeling ! This one is very different, especially after remodeling . Food taste very authentic and portion is generous ! Also it has a long list of business lunch items to choose from. The environment is very Asian contemporary style, and kept clean all the time. Servers use iPad to place order!!! Very modern environment for authentic Chinese food!!! Menu has a lot of pictures, so easy to choose what u want !

My family really like the duck here. You have to order the duck at least 1 hour in advance to insure quality and availability. We normally order the 3 style duck. They use a flour tortilla type wrapper instead of tiny buns. I recommend coming here if you really like fresh peking duck.

Great peking duck. Authentic Chinese food. They have a huge selection of lunch special dishes. We especially enjoyed the braised pork belly.

This place is a solid 4 to 4.5 stars. My disclaimer is that I generally don’t care much about service, ESP at a Chinese restaurant. You can’t go to a Chinese restaurant and expect Michelin star service… life just doesn’t work that way. Just sit down when they tell you to, tune out the excess noise, and stuff your face with excellent food. Came here with my Chinese family and everyone was pretty satisfied with the food. My aunt ate here the day before and was so impressed with her meal that she immediately made a reservation for our meal together for the next day. For large parties, reserve the«private» sections. It’s free, so why not? Dishes we tried(in order from favorite to least favorite… least favorite doesn’t mean it was bad): Duck 3 ways — peking duck, duck stir fry, and duck soup. The soup and stir fry are just okay, but the peking duck is really good. Not fatty at all and super crispy skin. Comes with thin wraps to make your own duck burritos :). The whole set is ~$ 50. Lamb skewers — I’ve eaten a lot of lamb skewers this lifetime. Grew up with them in China. These were some of the best ones I’ve had in recent memories. We devoured them so quickly I couldn’t even get a photo of them. 抓饼 — It’s a pancake that is all connected in a single long swirl. You literally pick it up from the middle and tear off the length of pancake that you want. It’s doughy but flaky at the same time, and not too greasy. Addictively delicious. Garlic chili steamed shrimp — Delicious and beautiful presentation! The shrimps are split open, making them easy to eat. The thin vermicelli in the middle is the perfect medium to soak up all that delicious sauce. Steamed fish(I think tilapia or snapper was our fish of the day) — Reasonably priced here and steamed perfectly. Some other Chinese seafood places will charge you $ 30 or more for a dish like this, which is ridiculous when you think about how much it costs to buy your own«live» fish at a Chinese grocery store. 五彩大拉皮(don’t know the English name) — It’s a cold dish. Wide and thick chewy vermicelli mixed with mustard, cucumbers, etc. Braised pork feet — I don’t love pork feet in general so I’m biased. But my family members who actually appreciate pork feet really enjoyed this dish. I still find the smelly pork taste to be too strong here. For me, I would definitely bring more family and friends back here again! Great for large parties, but should reserve the more private tables in advance. I would get everything above all over again except for the pork feet.

Good food. Horrendous service. So disappointed! Ever since the remodel, they won’t seat anyone even though half the tables are empty. Is this new management’s idea of keeping a line outside to draw in business? I’ve been coming for years. I’m stopping now. I don’t see why they would force us to wait now that they’re pretending to be all ‘fancy.’ Are they not seating us because they have no staff in the back to handle the volume? Whatever it is, they are bad communicators and won’t tell you what’s happening. How is it that now all the tables are reserved when pre-remodel none where? The whole time we were eating there, the ‘reserved’ tables remained empty. The whole 1.5 hours! They got the order wrong. They didn’t bring the tea period. The service has taken a nose dive!

The recent remodel of Ji Rong with what also seems to include a new chef has done this restaurant well. The food served was up to par with their contemporaries in quite a nice ambiance for a Chinese restaurant. They offer their lunch special menus 7 days a week which is a plus. Their specialty, Peking Duck, at $ 41.95, and soup dumplings were certainly above average. The crispy walnut shrimp and lamb with cumin sauce were the bomb and highlights of the meal. The food was overall exceptionally tasty! If you haven’t been to Ji Rong in awhile, it’s time to go back and enjoy a feast!

I have a rule about restaurants, if you want Mexican food go where the majority patrons are Mexican. If you want Chinese food same rule applies. I discovered this incredible restaurant while lost in San Gabriel. I walked in and I knew this was the place! Being the only Latino I immediately noticed how happy the patrons were and how the place had a great aroma of heavenly Chinese food. The pepper beef, spicy shrimp pao and the chow mien were incredible! I had a small problem with my bill, but Jerry the GM was took care of it and was very professional and polite. LOVETHISPLACE!!!

You won’t really notice to stop here because they don’t have flashy signs. I would have to say this place has not so oily and fatty duck, but the best duck in LA/626/SGV Area. I have had peking duck in Beijing where it originated from, but this is up there. Make sure you call hours or a day in advance to book and reserve the duck. You won’t regret it. QUACK.

This place serves yummy roasted Peking Duck. You need to pre-order an hour advance. I had a workplace lunch here today, with a table of 9 people. It’s a nice setting restaurant with good quality dishes.

I called several times without answer and drove over to check it out. I found out they’ve been under renovation since 11/16/2015. I hope the chef stays and food remains the same when they re-open! Hopefully pretty soon…

We had Friendsgiving Dinner here with a bunch of friends. I expected regular Chinese food and this is what we got. We actually decided to come here because we heard the Peking Duck was pretty good and it wasn’t to bad. The skin was very crisp and fatty and the meat was nice and tender. The other dishes were just average and so was the service. We ordered the Braised Pork Belly, Egg Fried Pumpkin, Onion Pancake(very strange), Walnut Shrimp(always good as long as they don’t over dress it with mayo), Spicy Fish Pot(pretty good), and a few veggies here and there. For dessert with got this mochi like square with red bean inside which was good, but heavy.

If you really love Peking duck as much as I do this is a good place to enjoy some. The soup that comes with the Peking duck is delicious with a light flavor of duck in pieces. Peking duck’s skin is crispy not really oily you add green onions and hoisin sauce on it. The duck is finger licking savory delicious. I had other dishes then this restaurant is known for their Peking duck so you must order this if you dine here. I haven’t had any Peking duck like this since I was in Beijing many years ago. I know you don’t find restaurants that serve really good specialties except in San Gabriel Valley. I feel like I need Peking duck right now.

The place can get busy. The Walnut Shrimp was really good, the Lamb Skewers were great, the fish(I think it was some kind of Yellow Fish) was slightly overcooked. The customer service was lacking here. Overall, come for the food and not the service. The place is nicely decorated and clean.

More of a 2.5 star experience. Service: typical chinese service. Poor attitude but efficient enough. Food: a lot of items are out. We tried to order food and every other one was, «oh we are out of that» or «no, don’t have that either!» What we did order the food was ok… The flavors were very generic. Not anything spectacular. They have Peking Duck. You must call one hour in advance to order it. They will cook it and then reserve a table for you. You have to give them an hour in advance.
