This place holds a special place in my heart. It’s a local dive bar. Nothing fancy. Drinks are strong and cheap which is always a plus in my book. Bartenders are friendly as well as the locals that frequent this place.

I will write this review for«Po’Boys Eatery as well. They are the same place with the same food. There is a bar side and restaurant side. I decide to try this place because of the reviews I read here. This place is not on any main roads. I would never have heard of it, if I had not taken a wrong turn trying to go to another nearby tavern. 1st the beer selection. they have a 6 beers on tap, mostly domestic. I had the burger, it was the best burger I have had in the area, but not in NJ. It was served on a toasted english muffin with fries. definitely worth the the price. My wife had a «Catfish Po’ Boy that was off the hook! A huge piece of catfish and a great sandwich. The restaurant has a country décor feeling to it and the bar has a regular after work Jersey feeling. The atmosphere is completely different. But the menu is the same. the kitchen separates the two. We definitely be back to this place this summer and sit out side on the wood patio. You can find the menu on the restaurant ‘s website.

I really expected to walk into a dive filled with leather vest-wearing Harley riders and blaring classic/hard rock. Instead we wandered in to a nice, recently remodeled neighborhood bar filled with some nice folks and a great bartender who made us some fun shots @ $ 3 each. The bartender told us that the whole place is being redone. Right now the dining room is closed but we checked out the rec room with an old pool table and dart board. Things weren’t in the best condition there but maybe they will update that part too. The main bar area was nice enough though and we had a good time!

Hamilton’s tavern or «Hammy’s» as the locals call it, could be a nice place to go if the owners did not have the attitude that there s**t dosen’t stink. Just because the owner is a ex police captain from the boro of Roselle, he thinks that he is above the law. The hired bartenders are generally good and well liked. If the owners older daughter is bartending be prepared to meet one of the most unlikeable people you will ever experience. Food wise they have tried many things(there is a kind of restaurant catering hall attached), none of them has benn successful.

This place is NOT a dive bar. I have no idea what that other person who posted about this place is talking about. It’s more of a Restaurant with a bar in the next room. They also have an outdoor seating area on the back patio, which is fairly new. The bartenders here are always coming and going and they are normally foreign exchange students from various European countries. They normally have attractive girls working here, but they just have zero personality and barely even smile when serving up drinks. They almost appear to be slaves. This place used to attract a good group of people, mostly truckers and iron workers. Now, this place attracts more ghetto thugs who pretty much play non-stop rap garbage on the jukebox(if they even have it turned on). Sometimes, they turn the jukebox really low(this never happens at true dive bars by the way). They do have tables on the bar side of this restaurant too, so if you want to meet a group here for happy hour, I guess this place is good for that at least. Also, I recommend parking your car in the rear lot since the front lot is on a busy street with lots of county cops passing by constantly. I personally prefer to go into NYC to hang out at REAL dive bars, then waste my money at most of these Union County ghetoo hipster bars.

Probably one of my favorite bars of all time. Has some of the friendliest and outgoing bartenders around, who might even throw a free drink if your way if you’re a liked regular. Decent priced pitchers($ 7.75), mixed drinks(between $ 5 – 7) and even better priced shots(about $ 3 on average) keep me coming back for frequent booze-fests. Only thing that sucks is the questionable musical tastes of a few of its patrons, but luckily, on occasion the bartenders will lower the jukebox volume for the sake of everyone else. All in all, a great place to get a quiet drink on a weekday, or to go drinking with your buddies on the weekends. It is one of two places that I like to call my local bar,
