Been there many times growing up when camping in the area. I don’t know how eggs can taste different in other places but these were fantastic. Great food and service. I highly recommend going out of your way for this diner.

I was on my way to Johnson City on Rt17 and decided to stop here since I was hungry. From the outside doesn’t look to impressive but surprisingly the inside was clean and neat. I ordered the bison burger special. A cup of soup came with it all for $ 5.95. Chicken soup was good and so was my burger. I have to say my waitress was excellent! Very quick to serve me and my lunch came out before I could finish my soup. She was very pleasant and had a great attitude!

Cute diner. Passing through on the way home and stopped in for dinner. Nice staff, tasty soup and food was good as well. They display college pendants throughout the diner and it is natural to get caught up in looking for your alma mater or favorite college team. I saw a little kid go up to the cashier and pay his family’s bill with a check, which something you rarely see nowadays. Very family friendly. Bathrooms are under construction currently but that shouldn’t deter anyone from stopping in to take a break as you venture by on Route 17.

Diner right off the road in Roscoe so guessing if you are looking at this you are passing through or stopping into Roscoe. Typical diner, food was decent and service was friendly. Not many choices in the areas but good for a quick bite

Good, solid diner food. Good service. Excellent location off the highway. Nicely decorated with many college banners on the walls. Will need to send them my college banner.

This is one of those places that you remember as being better than it really is. It’s been a habit to stop here for breakfast on trips eastward and I once had the best omelet I had ever had here(or at least that’s how I remember it). That’s not the reality now – omelets are ok, but nothing special. I did like the home fries with their crispy onion bits and the rye toast was generously buttered so that’s always a plus for me. Service was fine and the food came out quickly.

Terrible! Stopped through on a trip upstate and there was a line at the door even though half the diner was completely empty! We get seated and the waitress who didn’t introduce herself takes our drink orders then takes about 15 minutes to come back before taking our food order. We were told we couldn’t have items on their menu because it wasn’t after 5:00PM… REALLY?!? The meatloaf sandwich and stuffing that came with the childrens turkey meal was disgusting. My husband loved his pizza burger but the portion sizes of all the meals are not worth the money. Definitely will NEVER come back here, don’t even want to give it 1 star.

Typical diner food but was really disappointed. Service from start was much to leave desired. We sat and I realized that the a/c unit was on(mind you it’s October brr only 46 outside) asked for them to turn it off and I was told no sorry but we can move you. We already had our drinks and the table that we would fit out was being seated. Then we go to order and told they have no hamburgers, French fries, mozzarella sticks or spanakopita. So now my son needs to rethink his plans. We order and at this point I look like Rudolph bc of AC. While waiting for food we couldn’t get our waitress to even look our way for refills. Finally we asked another waiter and he seemed bothered by us. Our food came and honestly not bad. But waitress finally comes and just gives us bill. Guess no coffee or desert for us. Needless to say for a «famous» diner it didn’t live up to its expectations.

It’s a diner, folks! Go in with the proper expectation and you won’t be disappointed. This place is somewhat legendary as is Roscoe in the world of fly fishing so I had to stop and check it out. We were promptly greeted, seated, ordered, and served. The food was just OK. I ordered the bison burger special and it was basically just a lean patty in a bun served with fries and a pickle spear. It was tasty but dry. Bison is really lean so maybe some sort of mayo or mustard may have helped. My wife ordered the egg panini. It was good but could have used a little sauce on the bread to kick things up a notch. Nevertheless, would I go back? Absolutely. Especially after a few hours casting for trout. It’s a diner, folks!

Went here yesterday and got the«happy waitress» which was a grilled cheese with bacon and tomato! Definitely a good choice. The atmosphere is nice with college flags all over. Overall a yummy diner experience. Great for stopping on the way to Binghamton /Syracuse

This is a legit diner off the highway that serves your usual diner food plus greek and italian thrown in as well. There’s a kids menu that includes drinks and dessert(large giant cookie or jello). Service was very friendly from the front desk to the waiter etc. Washrooms were clean and the overall place like a legitimate diner in smalltown USA. Our group had the burger and fries, BLT sandwich, fried clams and a spinach cheese pie. I would only recommend the fried clams which was decent. Overall, the food was not that good but edible, the service bumps it up to 2 stars.

I had my very first Rainbow or Brook Trout here when I was six years old. Of course, that was in 1956. It would be nice to have it again, perhaps six years before I die! Of course, the ownership has no doubt changed!

Want interesting diner atmosphere while being served microwaved Sysco frozen dinners? This is the place for you. Having heard so much about the Roscoe Diner(or rather, having seen a lot of their bumper stickers) we decided too give it a try. Quite possibly this is the place for breakfast fare, but we made a serious mistake coming here for dinner. The waitress didn’t know what the specials were, or of what the regular menu items were comprised(I asked the manager, when I was trying to get my botched dinner cheque deciphered, and, no, she was not new, and had worked there for some time). The broiled tilapia was a delight, or as much so as a bare fillet with Lawry’s Season salt and a pool of grease may be. My son’s pasticcio was frozen in the center. Not just cold mind you, but frozen as in good-lord-global-warming-is-a-hoax-and-here-comes-a-honking-big-glacier frozen. The moussaka was ordered and after a 20 minute wait we were informed that the«chef» says they are out of moussaka, so another dish was ordered, but then, whoa cowboy, the chef«made» more moussaka, which from what was delivered to the table probably means he hacked a corner off a frozen block of Wonder Moussaka, and then gave it a fleeting relationship with some vague source of infrared radiation. At this point I lack the energy to get into the issues of the thin ice tea, white salads, and the interminable wait for service. There are too many other dinner venues in Roscoe to try this crap shoot. Better yet, just go to the Quik Mart and get a microwaved burrito. It is the same quality of food.

It’s not a war movie, it’s a really awful movie with great actors. Oh, it’s a really good movie with Burt Reynolds, but don’t take it seriously. Deliverance, something this restaurant lacks. The urge occurred, unyieldingly, after watching the movie. Two guys playing banjos together couldn’t rescue this establishment. Flags of colleges? What about the millions of Americans who can’t afford a college education. Thanks Obama! Anyway, the waiters are only hired if they have been diagnosed with early onset dementia. Their turning signals only worked when the tires were flat, no glove compartment, but don’t worry about that, it’s a skinny house. Dual exhaust from inside, 65 cylinder. Leroy doesn’t even come here on his free time. Patches, in depending on you son to pull the family through to the route 65 classic. I digress, because I can’t digest whatever I just ate. Okay anyways, don’t go here, you’re welcome. –BO

Diners are in general are the closest I get to fast food. I do love them though. This one is amazing or perhaps it was the company I kept, either way it is totally worth writing about. We came here on a rainy Saturday morning and it was pretty much packed. A lot of people were waiting to be seated. Surprisingly, we were seated quicker than I might have imagined. Our waitress must have been doing this forever because she was as sharp as my fishing knife. She got our coffee right quick, had our order in no time and with all the hustle and bustle going on she even managed to trade up our kneeknocker seats for a larger window booth all the while smiling. Pretty impressive. I Was Starving Marvin so I ordered two well done poached on English muffins, bacon and sausage, juice. My better half ordered an omelet, toast also scrumptious. The coffee was filled frequently, they were on top of it. This diner was a for sure five stars in my book.

Five minute wait at the door(not busy, btw). Six minutes to make eye contact with the maitre’d who apparently had lost her joie de vivre some time ago. Waitress had a nice juicy head cold. That aside, all meals were average, not memorable, and the corned beef on my Reuben was somewhat rubbery and chewy. Roscoe Diner is good for a warm meal in a pinch but it’s just a diner, and a run of the mill one at that.

A Staple for people who travel on Route 17(Soon to be I-86) between NYC and Binghamton. Good food and reasonable prices. I can get a bit crowded during peak times.

OK, I admit — I go to diners for breakfast food, regardless of time of day. Sometimes i MIGHT have a grilled cheese sandwich at one, but that’s very rare. So, given that info, my review is based on breakfast food. They are evidently famous for the deep fried french toast. I have had it. Its OK, but a little greasy for me. I have had the regular too, and frankly, that’s really good, but the price is not as good or reasonable. I also have a hankering for bacon with my diner food breakfasts, and their bacon the ONETIME i had it was literally inedible. I made them take it off the bill. I don’t have any idea what kind of bacon it was, or if it was cooked wrong or what, but it was NOTGOOD and I was not going to pay for it. I don’t drink coffee unless I make it, so cant comment personally, but, people I have been with have not had issues with the coffee. And overall they have been pleased, but its been scrambled eggs or hamburgers, depending on time of day and travelling companion. I like this place to stop, but have never visited the restrooms, so cant comment. For me its a convenient place to grab a bite on the road between NYC and Buffalo or other points west. Getting on and off Rt 17(not yet 86) is easy, parking is easy and its a very safe area. Enjoy
