Tom’s Family Restaurant

Just ordered the steak dinner with baked potato and dinner roll and veggies. Delish! I really love the steaks here. Quite often I’ll come here for breakfast and get the steak and eggs. That is delish, also! The servers were friendly and prompt. The place was clean. I shall return!

I don’t even want to give one star! We have tried a couple times going back, thinking they’ve changed. NOPE! I was handed a coffee cup with hair on it and dirty. All but a few tables cleaned. And sadly the food is so bad I ate a piece bacon and drank the coffee out of a to go cup. Truly a sad thing. I remember when the built Toms here it was great. Toms #28. Either shut the doors and clean house or slowly keep going down hill. All I can say is YUKE! Hopefully they will make some changes.

I just pulled my car over to take a picture and write this review. I’ve been going to Tom’s Restaurant in Rosamond since 2010 and it’s always been mediocre. fine in a pinch. Better than McDonald’s. I just went today to get my usual patty melt because I don’t want to go shopping hungry and holy damn this is the most delicious patty melt ever had. I absolutely guarantee there is a new line cook there and if you manage Tom’s of Rosamond do everything in your power to keep that line cook. I’m going to send you hate mail if you don’t because this is the best sandwich I’ve ever had my life.

Man I love this place I think I’m there favorite customer. I just moved here from hawaii and let me tell you guys paying only around 7 dollars and actually getting full is great. I never had a bad meal here plus the staff and cooks are really nice and friendly. Menu is cheap food is good and they open till 11 can’t beat that.

Ordered the Toms Breakfast burrito wet style and the sauce they piled ontop was way to spicy! Totally killed my burrito experience that i was looking forward to. This sauce is good in moderation but it should not be used to top the burrito. My friend asked for salsa and they brought out the same stuff they used all over my wet burrito. Definitely need to note in the menu that this is spicy.

Stopped in for breakfast before hitting the track at Willow Springs. I ordered a vegetarian omelette with sides of potatoes. I opened the box and everything looked like a sopping mess of grey slop. Everything was so watery and tasteless, the omelette hung lifelessly (did I mention dripping?) from my fork as I took bites of the mediocre dish. The potatoes were also flavorless and didn’t have much texture to it like they had just decided to microwave it. :/​Maybe it’s because I took it to-​go and ate in the car?

Food was average and mediocre. Customer service wasn’t bad or good. They don’t seem to use the heat, so the place wasn’t much warmer than it was outside! HELLO, IT’S WINTER! Although, the bathroom was warm, so go figure… I won’t be returning nor recommending. Don’t waste your money.

I was in the mood for a breakfast burrito and decided to try this place. It was overpriced and my burrito had completely burned hash browns inside. I ordered the chorizo and egg burrito which comes with cheese and hash browns. It was inedible and even after removing (or trying) to take out the burned hash browns it wasn’t very good. Will not be returning.

Placed a good size order over the phone for pickup. Called back less than a minute later to let them know I had a coupon and was told that it was too late because the order «was final». I asked to cancel the order and redo it but the rude girl on the phone wouldn’t let me reorder. I guess they don’t want customers.

The one in Rosamond is filthy. Nothing special about the menu and could fix the same stuff at home. A few people in there look like they are in the witness protection program. The staff does not seem to know what they are doing. Been there twice and had to ask for silverware both times. Had the chicken burrito last time and got sick. Won’t be going back

I think Tom’s is great. I’d give a five star but I got to be 100% fair because they are by no means a «perfect» restaurant (in consistency). We just moved to the area so we were without our household goods for about a week. We went to Tom’s at least once a day that week. We LOVE the salads (huge portions)! They have a couple of workers who are super quick, very friendly and helpful. The only thing I would say to change, is the coffee. It is so watery.

Can’t stand this place. My order is never ever right. Ever. Will never eat here again. and 8 bucks for a salad? Really? Also why am i still in the drive thur? its been 22 minutes.

I honestly didn’t expect a great place, but I didn’t expect a bad place either. I was in the area because my brother had a drifting class at Willow Springs International Raceway. For lunch, we came to this spot. I ordered a simple cheeseburger, fries, and a raspberry lemonade. We took a number and sat at a corner booth. It was the only table without ketchup. I received my food and was pretty disappointed. My fries were cold. The burger bun was cold. The patty was cold and skimpy (there was more lettuce than the actual patty itself). I would honestly rather go to a fast food chain than come back here.

Greasy food. Slow service. Not a clean restaurant. Some people have attitudes. Most likely if I go I get a salad! That is it!

Decent breakfast nothing I would go back for everyday good overall but bring your credit card way expensive

Good place to get a decent meal. Better than the burger joints across the street. Can be a little pricey. Food is good. The service is OK seems like they are always hiring new waitresses. Would give 5 stars if food and service were more consistent.
The chicken club sandwich is awesome!
I recommend trying it out.

If you’re not too concerned about quality of service, speed or price then this is the place for you.
I used to come here under the previous management and thought that the food was decent. While the food is still okay, the service has gone downhill. I ordered breakfast, pancakes, eggs and bacon and was satisfied with it, but the $ 1.60 coffee was ultimately what was the deciding factor in the impression of my visit. $ 1.60 for coffee and in the 45 minutes I was in the restaurant, right next to the counter, not once did I get asked if I wanted a refill.
For the customer:
Don’t get your hopes up about this place. If your order eggs and you want them over easy, ask for over medium or you’ll get them clear and raw. Trust me, I have tested this many times. As far as the menu, my only recommendation is the chicken pita wrap w/​avocado and fries.
For the business:
The customer should always leave smiling. Your not competitive enough to continue operating this way. Start small… offer a better military discount than a free drink. Most of your combos come with a drink anyways. You really need to take 10% off the prices for your entire menu and 50% off of coffee. The décor is boring and is out of place. The hours are good. The management needs lots of work. Here’s a tip, don’t scold the bus boy in front of the customers when he clearly was clearly working hard. And if his shift is over in 30 minutes don’t short change him by saying he has 15 minutes on the clock. I’ll return in a month or so for one last hope that Tom’s has improved.

For the love of your own well being, head on to Victorville and find some better food. I do not think they change the fry grease often. It is clean, and busy though, but that is because it is the only game in eyeshot of the highway. Like I said, move on, or hit the Jack in the Box across the street if you must!

As many people have mentioned, Tom’s has changed, and not for the better. My hunny and I met up here for a dinner after work. I used to get the supreme Nachos. I ordered it again with chicken. The Nachos were still a decent portion, not as much as before, but plenty for two. They decreased the amount of cheese and increased beans.
The workers were all Very Friendly when we walked in and helpful when ordering.
