Great place to take your child! I reserved a 1 hour session with this place for my daughter to have a fun time on their farm with the ponies. It was fun and very accommodating. My daughter has a fear of animals(especially the moving ones). I was hoping that she would be brave enough to ride the pony and participate in other activities. We brushed the pony(my daughter brushed the tail while I brushed the mane). Two ponies pulled us around the farm while we sat in a cart. We also fed the ponies(my daughter did with a container while I had hand fed) and lastly my daughter took two pony rides around the farm riding the pony. She was very happy with that last experience. The price is good and worth it for the experience. I forgot the name of the teenager that was with us but he did a great job. Take your kids there but reserve in advance because it gets booked quickly.

I just happened across this place while driving around. Not a huge place, which is what I like. I notice tour buses are starting to go there a lot now. I hope this not change the place or make them raise their prices. They have a nice variety of things. From a small selection of Quilts, ointments and soaps to a larger selection of other homemade items. I like the jellies they sell their although they are not made there. They also have ice cream, homemade root bear and lemonade. Basically a little bit of everything, but not overwhelming. They have miniature horses and goats. I understand you can have your children or grandchildren ride the horses for a fee, but I am not sure how you go about that. They also have a shop upstairs with wooden items some of which where made there. Right now considering the prices of some other places around their prices are decent, but like I said if they keep getting all these bus tours I am afraid the prices will go up just like all the other shops around.

Owned by Henry and Linda Stoltzfus, the Li’l Country Store and Miniature Horse Farm is a cool little Amish country store with a miniature horse barn out back. If you’re in Strasburg, this is a neat place to check out. It’s up the road from the Red Caboose Motel, so I stopped in one morning while waiting for the train station down the road to open. The store itself was filled with cookbooks, spiritual books and guides, dolls, quilts, pillows handmade bags, and(this made me giggle) even Steeler-themed dog toys — just to name some of what I found. There was also a pretty impressive selection of homemade jams, sweets, and even a few odd items like pickled beets. Basically, if you want a sample of the Amish life to take home with you, this is the shop for you. There’s also a small food stand next to the shop, where they sell a few more treats and sometimes even homemade root beer. After you finish shopping, you can walk out back to check out the miniature horse barn they have, which is well known in the area for the way it’s built: the 10 stalls in the barn have little holes in the front for the tiny horses to stick their heads out of, which is adorable. Speaking of adorable, there were several foals while I visited — aw! I took a quick peak into the workshop by the barn as well and caught a glimpse of some of the woodwork the shop owners are doing. All in all, a pretty cool albeit small addition to the Strasburg area and experience. If you’re looking for homemade gifts or just curious about what you can find in an Amish gift shop and food stand, stop in and see what you can find. The adorable horses in the barn will just be a bonus!
