Pops Italian Beef & Sausage

great food that will definitely be returning back with my family. Staff was friendly and great I definitely come back.

First time there yesterday. Nice size crowd sitting down eating. I’ve heard nothing but good things about this place, I had the jumbo dog and it didn’t disappoint! I will definitely be making this a regular spot. Can’t wait to try the beef.!!

This is one of favorite places to go to… The chicken rings, mozzarella sticks and double cheeseburger are my favorite! But that was until I recently visited with my parents and received a strain of hair in my burger… I understand things happen but the cooks in the back should probably wear some sort of hair net considering most of them had a good amount of hair on their heads… It was honestly such a bad visit and I’m probably be going to visit for a while…

Beef was dry. I originally asked for an Italian sausage and was given a beef instead. It was very bland. Fries were tasteless, pizza bread hardly had any sauce. The bbq wings were decent.

This shit is horrible. Please don’t waste your money. It taste like shredded paper. I’ve never tasted shredded paper but I think this is what it would tastes like. Please get some real Italian beef meat.

Their chicken is flavorless and terribly dry. And based on the fact that your chicken sandwich is ready in minutes means they are not preparing it fresh. Cooking chicken from raw takes time. It’s pre-​cooked, probably sitting under a heat lamp or in water and then thrown on the grill to heat for minute. Gross!!! Their beef also lacks flavor. I think the only reason people go there is because it’s the only one of this type of place in the area.

I ordered a Gyro and it looked like someone had chewed it up and spit it on to the pita… How can people care so little about quality of the product they produce? It was un-​eatable.

I know its a Chicago thing to put the Fies on the hotdogs but I hate it. Asked for his not to be done but they did not listen. Everything was cold too.

Had a combo with cheese and sweet peppers. The beef was cold, the sausage was undercooked, and the the one slice of green pepper was still raw. Second time here and definitely my last. If you name your restaurant Pops Italian beef and sausage, it should be the best item on the menu. Surprising how busy it gets. They are generous with the fries though.

No feta for your gyro are you joking? I get it you’re doing stuff different but this is where I draw the line…

Pops should take the gyros sandwich off the menu. It was trully awful. I bought the $ 3.50 gyro sandwich and the meat was too soft. It was obviously not traditional gyro meat. It taste like they used the Italian beef meat and put taziki sauce on it; if you can call it taziki sauce, it taste like sour cream with chopped dill. I ate half the sandwich cuz I paid for it but I couldn’t force myself to eat the rest. I threw the rest of the sandwich in the trash. I’m done with pops. Never again.

TERRIBLE FOOD… even store brand factory made roast beef tastes better. the roast beef was shredded into pieces of meat… tasteless and somewhat dry… my friend had a gyro and that upset his stomach after we left… he puked out everything…
TERRIBLE SERVICE… attitude for no reason…2^nd time i was there, the lady was yelling at a younger girl… probably her daughter cuz she look less than 15 yrs old… im not saying parents shouldnt yell at their kids… DO THAT AT HOME… not a your place of work… not infront of your employees… and most definitely not infront of customers…

This I a great place to come grab a burger for a change or italian beef. There’s nothing on the menu that I don’t like everything is very good they even have a number you can text so you can get special offers on certain days. Mushrooms are my favorite the only thing that threw my good time off was how cold it was inside. They don’t have a double door so every person that walks in brings in the Chicago chill with them. This location is Defiantly better for carry out.

I don’t know why I keep going to this place, but it’s so close to home and the food is Super fast (probably cause they always have more employees than customers in there).
I do consider myself kind of a hotdog/​beef connoisseur. Love to try ALL different places
But I have to say, this place could take the award for worst beef I’ve ever had. Thought it may have been because I went on a slow night and who knows how long the beef was sitting there, so I gave them another try a few weeks later… Still the same horrible over cooked and under seasoned overpriced beef.
Their hotdogs were just «meh» in my opinion. It really is difficult to mess up a Chicago dog. Quality fresh ingredients is kinda all you need and I think Pop’s is up to par. It just their prices are kinda ridiculous. But it will do when you’re in a pinch. Honestly, for a better taste/​price ratio, you’d be better off with a Costco or Sam’s club hotdog.
Anyways, to torture myself some more I added myself to their «text offers» list. It seems they have REALLY good deals on there on random food items, but I haven’t been desperate enough to go back

Pops has the worst gyros I have ever had in my life. Wow absolutely horrible. Not to mention terrible service. Goodbye pops.

Service is always prompt and they have the BEST broasted chicken EVER the seasoning is great, juuuusstt don’t get white meat it’s very dry! Over all I LOVE it

delicious burgers and food all around. great service very clean. I like this place. fresh food. You get a little bit of southside service at this place. kinda of edgy. its a Chicago style fast food place. Its not a stakehouse.

This place has the #1 most disgusting beef I have ever had in my life! They use Scalas too as their distributer that is trucked in blah! The gyros are ok and you get a lot, at least last I went. But the Gyros are Kronos distributed. This place ultimately sucks beef made me sick to my stomach and not from food poisoning just from how gross it was!
NO PORTILLOS SUCKS TOO, DON’T LISTEN TO THE OTHERS ON HERE, A BETTER ALTERNATIVE IS NOT PORTILLOS IT’S BUONA BEEF!

Been coming to all of the Pop’s locations forever. Clearly this one is now struggling. Tonight they informed me that if you want the items that come on your sandwich on the side that it is now a .55 cent service fee per item. Seriously? And Sybil who works there could not have have been meaner if she came across the counter at you. Good Bye Pop’s. It is clear you don’t care about your clients.

Service sucks here. No personality. Food was mediocre… If you want a beef sandwich or hotdog, drive to portillos instead.
