I like the rink. Fairly new, brightly lit. Lots of parking and it’s 2 min off the highway. How can u not like that? Bathrooms are clean. My son didn’t complain about the locker rooms so they must be ok. He says they oversized but dont have doors on the stalls when you go #2. As a guy thats not too big a deal but, those doors should be there. They have a good concession stand and usually seem open. Stands have good viewing lines. Im not a big fan of the white draped mesh screen hanging over the rink to protect spectators but at least there are no pillars or columns blocking view. Gotta say for a park district, they have done real good. Wish there was two rinks here, but you cant have everything.

This is a great ice arena to watch ice skating or hockey. Definitely better than the old East rink that is freezing and like playing in an out house. There is a nice pro shop, a good selection of snacks at the snack shop, and there is lots of room to relax or move around. Beautiful arena.

We love West Meadows(and the Sports Complex rink). We like to practice hockey skill at open skate time and they have a nice big rink and the ice is taken care of well. Their management people are awesome too!

I’m going to come clean with this. I had very low expectations when I agreed to bring my niece here to see her girlfriend perform. This was a show featuring the Chicago Jazz Synchronized Skating teams. But was I wrong! I was pleasantly surprised to find that this was an incredible production. There was professional lighting and effects, music and enormously talented skaters. At one point, I almost felt like I was at a «Disney on Ice» performance! The only downside was the painfully uncomfortable bleachers. But nothing that a nice pillow couldn’t fix. Next time I will come prepared ;)

What a nice facility this place is! West Meadows is part of the Rolling Meadows Park District and it doesn’t matter if you are covered in sequins or whether you need to be padded up like the Michelin tire man, it’s got great ice. This weekend(or over the last 3 days) was their semiannual ice show. And even though the cement bleachers numb your rear end and your clothes would be adequate for the Iditarod, they really put on a great show. From those who cannot walk on ice to those who have spent hours training on ice it’s a lot of fun. Even the guy who runs the Zamboni is cute! My niece is part of one of the synchronized skating teams, the Jazz, and it has to be said these girls have to be in synch or they are all going down like dominoes. Flowers are available for sale if you want to shower your favorite skater afterward. My advice, bring your own as it will be cheaper. They do have a nice area for munchies, hot pretzels, pizza, and drinks. The rest rooms available to the public don’t accommodate a giant crowd so have extra Kleenex on hand, just in case. They also do hockey and you can do private parties there as well. I can say that my niece, who is a great kid anyway, has learned a lot about team work and discipline just doing this for fun. A great place all around.
