We purchased our queen size ‘Unity’ mattress and a 9″ foundation from the San Rafael store in late 2011. We have been sleeping on the bed for fours years now and are totally satisfied. It has stayed flat and comfortable. We tried all the mattresses in the store and decided on the ‘Unity’ because we liked that one and the ‘Clarity’ equally and couldn’t justify spending more«just because». I haven’t shared very many mattresses, but my experience has been that you can usually feel the other person moving around or getting out of bed; with this mattress I am not aware of any movement. Steve was very low-key, almost to the point of feeling it was hard to get the information and enthusiasm that I’m sure he has for his product! But I’d much rather that than a pushy salesman! We bought our mattress at a time when I was just starting to learn about the potential affects of chemicals and I was not sure if it was really worth it to me to go with an organic mattress, but it’s such a big purchase that I wanted to err on the side of caution. Four years later, as I’ve continued to research, I am very glad we made this decision. I’m reviewing for the Rohnert Park store because I just stopped in there last week to see about getting a bag to protect our mattress during an upcoming move. Andrew was great and gave me bags for mattress and foundation and a box, which will make it much easier to move the mattress. These mattresses are much softer than a traditional mattress and will not stand on their edge without slumping over. We have also purchased an all-latex crib mattress which we have used for two children now, and it still looks and feels like new! I’m sure it will be useful for many more babies and toddlers. My only negative to comment on is that the corners of the mattress have collapsed somewhat. This is my fault, though, as I have a water proof cover(we have little ones), a mattress pad, and a fitted sheet that all place pressure at the corners.

We were looking for an organic mattress and went first to the natural mattress store. We needed to look no further. They have a great selection of both latex and non latex mattresses. Andrew was great explaining the difference and it was a non pressure sales environment. They have a 90 day comfort guarantee which was critical for us as we tired many different levels of firmness to get the right one we needed. We definitely recommend this store they are great.

I need a very firm mattress. Weeks ago I purchased a Serta Beauty Rest mattress from a retail department store. The firmness was great but the chemical off-gassing was something that I couldn’t stand. I woke up every morning coughing and itching. After a sleepless week, I returned the bed and contacted the Natural Mattress store in Rohnert Park. Andrew, who is wonderful by the way, was so helpful. He and Gabe were willing to let me experiment until I found the right firmness. I literally went through FOUR beds! At this point I’ve found the right one. There was a lot of back-and-forth, deliveries and returns not one ounce of disparaging remarks or problems. But the very best part is the fact that I now own 100% latex bed that has no odor or chemical offgassing. I hadn’t bought a bed for over 20 years. I had no idea that EVERY bed from major companies made today, is filled with flame retardants and polyurethane. It’s an awful, hurtful thing. I would recommend the Natural Mattress store to anyone looking for a healthy, supported sleep. Good night :)

Disclaimer, this is a review based on my initial assessment. I will post another review after I have used it for 6 months. Some useful background; I am a master personal trainer, yoga instructor, and kickboxing instructor who also attended medical school. So I am not only in touch with my body, I am a bit of a research freak! Initially, I was enticed by the website to try out memory foam mattresses based on reviews and price. I tried out multiple brands and did not enjoy that my pelvis«sinks in» to a memory foam mattress. This created a slight pressure in my lumbar area. I also attempted the traditional box spring mattresses with a mixture of memory foam and latex tops and was initially satisfied. The saleswoman at Sleep City in Petaluma recommended I try a latex mattress(LatexBLISS) and I reluctantly tried it expecting it would come with a matching non-blissful price. Instantly I noted that the feel of latex is very«bouncy but soft». It just seems to push back and hold your body where it needs, but not create sag or pits. When I laid on it, my back felt release to the point where it released tension and my back subluxated(popped into place). I thought to myself(mother f$#er) this thing is amazing and now I am going to have to buy it. She offered me a great deal and explained that these things have an absolutely tremendous shelf life and are very eco-friendly and blah blah blah. She claimed that few other stores in north bay carry latex mattresses. I looked up latex retailers in the area and found this place. I think she perhaps was unaware of this chain of stores… or maybe lied? These mattresses are indeed the real deal and they are absurdly local and eco friendly to satisfy even the most die hard tree hugger. Latex is literally extracted directly from a tree, processed using air and water and voila, you got mattress padding. They are locally made and their latex source uses the rest of the tree for other purposes and the latex is farmed sustainably. Then its got organic wool and organic cotton and a local shaman blesses the thing over an ayahuasca ceremony… ok just joking on the last part. It cost a little more than latexBLISS, but I am paying the difference to get the«greenest» version. I don’t know if this is honestly worth it, but I figure why the hell not. I will«sleep better» knowing I did it(pun conclusion)!
