Adding to our house has been a bit overwhelming, with all of the design and vendor selection decisions involved. Fortunately, we have found some really great vendors that have made it successful and even enjoyable. One of our great finds was Steve Saddler and his crew at Silver Creek Tile and Stone, who cut and installed four stone tops for a new wine room. We had been referred to them, and several other good stone cutters, by the Ceramic Tile Center in Santa Rosa, where we bought our marble slab. While Silver Creek’s bid was comparable to the others, we were impressed by Steve Saddler’s good questions, obvious expertise, candor and enthusiasm. The stone tops worked out great! The 2-​inch mitred edges were flawless with the marble grain flowing nicely from the tops over the edges. Steve worked well with our builder to make the stone tops fit beautifully with the subsequent plaster work. Steve was fun to work with and he provided good design suggestions that made our project better.
