This place was really good. I would have given it a 5 star but that only happen when a restaurant is consistently good. So currently the 4 star review is like a 5. This was my first time trying this restaurant and I must say that it was really good. The server was really nice and was able to alter a dish for my mother. Everything came out nice and hot and it really looked like the pictures that they had. I ordered the Mongolian Beef and the meat was tender the sauce was amazing and because I asked for extra sauce I was able to eat it with my rice. My mother had ordered the shrimp with black bean sauce and let’s just say they had a lot of shrimp and she ate them all. Let’s just say I better yet we will definitely be back. I will be recommending this place to many.

Went here last night and it was very good. The service was very friendly and the food was great. The other people I saw coming in and out all looked like regulars. If I’m ever in the area again I will be back.

This hidden gem is probably one of the better reasons to live in the rodeo area. GREAT portion size(even if you order take out), the food is made fresh(as well as the ingredients, i. e broccoli, carrots, mushrooms etc) and great overall taste. The restaurant itself is a bit on the cozzy side, with limited seating(about 6 tables), however it makes it up with great customer service and friendly staff. Some people get excited to hear a starbucks is being built near them(you know who you are) and then theres This place. If your looking for great food and aren’t hesitant to spend a few bucks, then this place is a must. Side note: The Nephew is a car guy. So chopping it up about cars every now and then when picking up food is always cool

I’m giving this place three stars(which means I would go there again, but only if someone else wanted to go there). This place has pretty standard Americanized Chinese food: Wings — which everyone else has mentioned already — solid Fried Rice — good Mu-shu(I forgot which meat we got, but this usually just tastes like the hoisin sauce you slather on to the pancake) — solid Twice Cooked Pork — I don’t know what the heck this was, but it was not twice cooked pork. It was pork stir-fried with a bunch of vegetables.

Just came here and it’s super tiny. Walked in like heller!!! No one came out. So we just left. No place has food that good that I would dismiss bad service.

Small, family own business. I come here once a week for lunch. So far everything I had is good. They also take custom order dishes(like more veggie, extra spicy, not too much oils, or even noodles soup). The mom is super nice. The son also very friendly. Seem like all their customers are regular. They remember everyone name who came in the restaurant. I recently moved to the east bay and this restaurant is walking distant to where I live. That is a plus.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I called then first to make an order they did not pick up the phone. So I just decide I’ll wait and show up. I sit in the lobby for about 10 minutes and finally someone comes out and says were closed! What in the world? So why is your door opens and why are your hours not posted? Oh this place will never see my money. Horrible customer service! I will NOT be coming back!

I’ve been going to the same dentist in rodeo for over 30 years and happy wok is in the same strip mall area as my dentist. One day decided to try happy wok after my dentist appointment and ordered the drums of heaven to go. I believe the drumettes came with 8 pieces. The chicken was very good and tasty. The sauce that came with the chicken was good, lots of flavor. Chicken was still crisp with the sauce. I’ll only come here and order if I made too much rice and need something to eat it with and the drums of heaven is great with just rice alone.

Have been coming here for years. Always happy to eat food from here. Super nice family and the best authentic Chinese food! My husband’s number dish: Princess Shrimp! Try it, everything else is yummy too!

AMAZING!!! Fresh, made to order, and excellent customer service even helped me to my car both times I’ve ordered to go. Drums of heaven, chow fun, fried rice, filet in black bean sauce, salt and pepper pork, pot stickers, and egg rolls is what I have ordered and they all have been DELISH!!! Finally found my go to Chinese restaurant… plus the prices are very reasonable especially for the quality.

Quality wise, the food is pretty consistently good and their prices for lunch are fair. I particularly like their kung pao tofu! The only thing I would say to avoid is the hot and sour soup, which was very underwhelming and kind of pricey. There is something a tad sketchy about the place that I can’t put my finger on(not the location or anything … can’t figure it out), but the food is good enough that I find myself here a few times per month.

Small place in the plaza with Safeway. The food is sometimes hit or miss like a reviewer said but when it hits, there’s so much flavor to it. Wish they had more alcohol options but that’s not going to take away a star. I had the Mongolian beef and boy did that have a lot of taste to it. Everything was just right and I’d recommend getting the combination(assorted) fried rice a lot with it.

We will definitely be going back here again. FYI the menu that is photographed is not theirs. Customer service is 5 stars, they took our order even though they were about to close. We ran to Safeway to grab some groceries and the line made us quite late, but the elderly lady that works the front was still polite when we returned to pick up our food. I’m only giving this 4 stars because the orange chicken is more like a fresh orange juice sauce rather than the thick semi sweet stuff we were used to and the pork fried rice wasn’t as «fried» as we like. We also had chicken chow mein which was probably some of the best I’ve had. The happy family was delicious as well as the pot stickers.

I really like their food. I enjoy the Kung Pao Chicken Lunch Special. There is a fish dish that is good for dinner. I think it is made with black bean sauce.

I’ve only been once but I just have to warn you, their hot and sour soup is horrible!!! I’ve tried many so don’t get it.

I order to-go from here and I feel like their food is hit or miss. I don’t know if they have a different cook on certain days or not, but the food taste is not consistent. There are some times when their fried rice is really tasty and other times where it is bland. I like to order the salt and pepper fish or chicken. Often times the chicken isn’t cooked all the way. They close at weird times. Random times. I have to ask about that.

Every time my husband and I crave Chinese food, Happy Wok is our first choice. They are local, fresh, and tasty! We order lots of dishes and they are all good: from the classic fried rice and chow mein, to the sauteed pork dishes and chicken and vegetables, you really can’t go wrong! A particular favorite is the hot and sour soup! It’s a must anytime of the year, although I especially love the dish when I have a cold, it’s a great cold-buster soup! The best routine for a takeout order is call a half hour before you are ready to eat, and they will have your meal ready in 30 minutes faithfully. Make sure to say to Hoi as well, she and her family run the business and are just wonderful people!

My favorite Chinese restaurant, China Delights, was closed due to a power outage so I came here and tried their beef chow fun and walnut prawns. The food was good. The chow fun was not oily at all but there were no vegetables in it and the prawns were pretty big and super crunchy. The portions are not big. Overall, I enjoyed the food.

Love !! Love their food. I usually don’t eat Chinese food because it is super oily. But this place make it so fresh and good. Not oily at all. I don’t have that heavy feeling when I eat. And most important it taste good. ;)) I eat there once a week now. ;)

I’ve had happy wok about once or twice before, but this time was different. I guess it’s because I ordered it myself this time. I didn’t really know how to order because I didn’t really understand their menu because I didn’t see a whole menu on here, as I ordered by seeing two pictures on Unilocal haha. I orders Szechuan beef w/fried rice(aka rice with egg fried together) and Chicken chow mein ala carte. In total it was $ 15.37 for both and the beef dish came with a egg roll. The food is really good, a little bland but really good. Just the service was quite lagging. I walked in and there were fire men in there, I assume the fire Marshal and it was a little nerve racking to here what they had to say to the man behind the counter while I was there. I waited about 30 min in total since I called, so I call 2:25, and left the restaurant around 2:55. There was one table that was occupied while I got there, but the man kept walking back and forth with his head down not looking at anyone nor smiling. C’mon, customer service 101. Other than that, everything is good.
