Oh dang, who knew there was going to be a really cool winery in unassuming freakin rodeo?! I had FFW bookmarked for quite sometime and finally had a chance to try it on a Saturday afternoon with hubby and my lil girl. We were greeted by Marcia and to my surprise the tastings are free, what what?! We found a perfect spot in their patio area overlooking the bay and meet John who poured our wines. I can’t begin to tell you how down to earth and friendly the owners are. John gave us a quick history lesson in how the property and area came about. They are also looking into getting a food truck on property. Currently they serve chocolate covered nuts/raisins and mixed nuts. We ended up buying two bottles of wines, the Chardonnay and rodeo red(blend). If you check in, you get 10% off if you buy 2 more bottles of wine. Tastings are available only on the weekends. They do have special events on Fridays and Saturdays, call the winery for details. Cheers!

Unusual location, but they have a great view, a friendly dog, and their wines were, for the most part, surprisingly good. I really liked both their whites. Also, they have some evening events like karaōke and movies, and I was told they have yoga Sunday mornings. And there were two peacocks wandering around outside.

A great local find with a very relaxed environment. This is not a tasting room where the price tag for their wine is paying for their expensive imported marble bar. They have a great selection at very reasonable prices. We will certainly be coming back!

Just recently found out about this place and what a gem! Arrived an hour before closing which is a good idea to do because they are very relaxed and welcoming and take their time in between each glass. John was very nice explaining each wine. The place was full and the view is gorgeous. They welcome people bringing lunch and sitting outside to enjoy the view and drink some wine. My favorite was the Rodeo Red bought a few bottles to take home!

Nice wines and great, friendly service. The events are really fun to attend, too. The water views are very pleasant. Good California wines. Perfect, local place in the East Bay.

Spending the afternoon at Four Fools Winery was a wonderful way to cap off my birthday weekend. We found ourselves there after taking the back road, not 80, from The Dead Fish. I saw the sign for Four Fools and remembered that I’d forgotten that I wanted to visit this winery so close to home(and without a toll fee, take that Napa and Sonoma). Regardless of how you approach Four Fools don’t be dissuaded by the refinery or town that time forgot vibe of Rodeo, the trip is worth it. We were greeted by two of the fools, John and his wife Marcia and enjoyed an afternoon of wine tasting, storytelling, tour, and the relaxing view of San Pablo Bay. John gave us the background of each of the wines, and even shared a bit of one of his favorites which is no longer available(thank you, again). The Harlequin Chardonnay was so nice that my friend who doesn’t like wine at all found it very enjoyable. The Rodeo Red was a tasty and surprisingly light table wine. The Jester’s Petite Syrah was exceptional and became my birthday gift to myself. The JPS was great on its own but when John offered a bit of chocolate to go with it, talk about taking things to another level. I highly recommend The Jester’s Petite Syrah and in fact, all of the wines were great and reasonably priced. The views of San Pablo Bay are wonderful. John said that guests are invited to bring a lunch, enjoy some wine(soft drinks and water are also available for purchase) and unwind. We’d already had brunch but we took him up on the offer to unwind on the patio and sat there for a couple of hours enjoying the view. Four Fools Winery is particularly perfect for locals in the Pinole-Crockett-Hercules area. The wines are fantastic and it’s a mini-getaway that is literally only minutes away. I’d also recommend it as a way to start or end your wine tasting tour if you’re leaving the East Bay for Napa.

I wanted to find a quaint get away with a great view and that«Cheers, where everyone knows your name» feeling. Bingo! Dog friendly to responsible dog owners, lovely wines, owner served tastings with a little history and future dreams shared. Inspiring, relaxing, friendly, delicious. I know this won’t remain my secret hideaway forever. In the meantime, I lift my newly acquired SYRAH to toast, John, Marcia, Mark and Dana-thank you tremendously for your vision and for sharing it. Chuck and I and our dog, Skippy, will be back!

Friendly people who will talk about everything and anything with you while having a free wine tasting with a nice view! A little off the path as you drive to or from Napa Valley and it’s worth a stop, it’s fun! Great talk, a lot of information about pretty much everything wine related(did you know that millennials prefer wine stored in metal barrels rather than oak?) and other actually useful stuff. I even liked and bought their Harlequin Chardonnay(and I don’t like too many, but that’s very subjective).

We had a great experience at Four Fools on a recent sunny Saturday afternoon. The staff is friendly, the views are beautiful and the wines are pretty good. It’s yet another hidden gem in western CoCo County. Check it out on a beautiful Fall day. I think you’ll be glad you did.

A winery in Rodeo? I had to see it for myself. After being greeted by a few of the fools themselves, a glass of Sauvignon blanc, I was greatly impressed. They have great wines with crop from Lodi, Livermore and a few other great growing regions. Great visit and wines and I will be back soon to get another bottle of their Cabernet Sauvignon and petite Syrah. A great hidden gem!

If you are lucky enough to find this hidden gem you are in for a real treat! The great wine list is just the beginning. Such a unique place located right on the bay with fantastic views(beautiful sunsets) but perhaps the best part was the service. The owners greeted us as we came in and were excited to share in depth the specifics of each wine. We chatted long after finishing our tasting about their visions for the winery and the fantastic property in which its on. A truly great experience, can’t wait to go back!

I had my wedding reception with about 80 guests May 23, 2015 and stayed at the b&b. We had the best time and enjoyed the great view while eating, drinking and dancing. Mark and his wife along with Linda, Briana and Mathew made my wedding event even more enjoyable with all their accomodations and all the help. This will always be a special place fot my husband and I. I truely recommend this place for small to medium event.

We stopped in on a fluke and found this awesome spot, it’s off the beaten path but well worth the trip. Beautiful views, great outdoor seating, friendly pourers, dog friendly, and most importantly good wine! We sat on the patio with our dogs and watched the water, Michelle(our pourer) was friendly and knowledgeable. It was so nice to visit a place and feel welcomed and have our dogs welcome. Thank you four fools for being so friendly and having a great spot to chill and relax.

I never knew there was a little winery here down the street in Rodeo until one of my friends was having a little art show here and decided to check it out. Their service is very friendly and the winery is very cute with their own personal touch. It almost seems like your walking into a house that seems cozy and friendly. The wine here isn’t too bad and is an amazing find if your ever in the area.

What an amazing find. This small winery is located in the Rodeo Marina. It even has outdoor patio to enjoy a different view of the bay. They are opened from noon to 5pm on the weekends. The owners/pourers are friendly and even were able to answer a question about the bay. The wines are good. I prefer red wines normally. However, their Harlequin Chardonnay is a winner. This wine could make me a white wine drinker. I also liked the Zin and the Jester Petite Syrah. I am a fan of wine created with grapes from Lodi and they use mostly Lodi grapes. I am so pleased that that they chose Rodeo to locate their tasting room. They are close, and the wines are good. Rodeo might see like a town the time as past by, hopefully 4 fools winery will put it back on the map.
