I’ve had two recent experiences with The Garden Day Spa and, unfortunately, will not be returning to them again. My first appointment was for a massage, with Rebecca. Scheduling was easy, and I was sent several text confirmations and reminders. Upon arrival, Rebecca was very friendly, and professional, and made me feel welcome. She was keen to ask about areas I wanted her to target(or avoid) and she provided an excellent, 60-minute massage. I was happy to generously tip her. My second appointment, which I scheduled in person, was for a pedicure, with Mary. The afternoon prior to my Wednesday appointment I went to Urgent Care sick and was essentially out of commission for three days. This caused me to miss my pedicure. I called The Garden Day Spa on Saturday to reschedule and inquire about whether I’d been assessed a missed-appointment fee. The woman with whom I spoke indicated that she would look into it and call me back. She never did. Five days later I sent an email to the owner, Heather, on the topic of the missed appointment fee — which I had at this point been charged. I never received a response to this email. Four days later I dropped in to inquire in person. Heather took my contact information and a message to pass along to Mary. Three days passed, no response. I then dropped back in to speak directly with Mary but she had left for the day. Four days later, having still not received any contact from anyone at The Garden Day Spa, I called and left a voicemail for Mary. The following mid-morning I called back and only after I hung up with her voicemail, did Mary call me back. When we did finally speak Mary, was resolute about retaining the missed-appointment fee, neither offering concessions nor taking into consideration that I’d fallen ill within the cancellation window and been incapacitated during the appointment itself. Naturally I found this extremely disappointing. In my opinion, a business can only be as strong as its weakest link. My aforementioned good experience has been overshadowed by the poor communication and customer service stemming from my second appointment. Any business that prefers a one-time missed-appointment fee, over future income, is not one that, in good conscience, I can recommend.

This was my first massage inside a Spa 6⁄2010. I receive the Swedish massage and it was very relaxing. The staff was nice, friendly and courtesy. The facility was nicely decorated and smelled wonderful. I really enjoyed this massage and the aura in the massage room. The music set a good mood and overall it relieved much needed stress and tension from this massage. If you’re ever in the area and would like a massage ask for Heather.
