Have had Our Tag watches’ batteries replaced there, and silver ear ring clasps repaired/replaced. Like the idea that the receipt they provide includes a photo of the item you are leaving with them.

I have been to this guy 3 times. First to get my glasses fixed(earpiece soldered). He charged me $ 40 freaking dollars. The frames were really just Walmart specials. Had I known he was going to charge like he was some kind of metallurgist, I would have just bought new glasses(which I ended up doing several months later). Second and third times were to have a watch band for my wife sized. It’s a 30 sec to 2:00 minute job. He charged me $ 9.00BOTHTIMES(the watch was a surprise, my first guess was wrong — too tight; so had it re-sized about 2 weeks later.) He still charged me. I will NEVER darken this guy’s door again. I now go to Willis Jewelry and even though they cater to a much more high-brow clientele than I am, they have ALWAYS treated me like I was just as important and just as «wealthy» as the guy next to me buying the Rolex or Princess-cut diamond for his wife’s anniversary. All I can say about Shanks is «Be ready for the SHAFT!»

They have a customer for as long as I live in Rockwall. I started going here to get a watched fixed for my husband. That led to Ben asking if I would like my ring cleaned. LOVE when it shines! Then took my watch in to have a rhinestone replaced that had fallen out. That lead to getting my husband a new watch for Valentine’s Day. I have been back since to have my ring cleaned again. What wraps it all up for me and tells me what kind hearts these people have is this. I volunteer almost all week/all day at an assisted living. Every Monday, myself and the activity director take a bus of residents for their weekly trip to Wal-mart. For the last three weeks this one particular lady has had me go with her to the watch department, to use their tool, and replace batteries in watches she has that aren’t working. The last watch I couldn’t remove the back off of, so I told her I would take it to my jeweler. I did this and the woman at the counter took my information. When I came back the next day to pay, she asked me if the lady was going to be able to pay for it. I said no, I am paying for it. She had me sign for it and said no charge. I still get choked up even typing this review, because even the smallest blessing of putting a watch battery in, made my day. Just reminds me there are still good, kind hearted people and business owners out there. She was thrilled to get it back and put it on immediately. I told her what Shank’s had done and she said well I’ll be. God works in even the smallest of ways. I pray Shanks Jewelers will be blessed beyond measure. Thank you!
