Met some friends for dinner on a Saturday at 6:30. The place was empty except for one large group for a birthday party. There were children running and screaming all over the place from this group of adults that seems unaware that their children were being disrupted to other guess. The A/C was not functioning so fan had been placed around the dinning area ! At this point we should have left… but we made a grave error and stayed. We requested to be moved to another area to eat as the little monsters were running around our table. They moved us approx 20 – 30 feet away and stated«they have paid their check and should be leaving soon«no one from management approached them to request they control their children. Service: waiter knew nothing about items on menu or how they were prepared . Food: poor quality everything seemed to be frozen and microwaved to serve. Cost: expensive for poor quality food and loud unpleasant hot experience. We went for the view and dinner. We will not return !

Love this place! We selected this restaurant as the venue for our wedding, and we got tons of compliments from our guests on the food and the view. We ate here several times in preparation for our big day, and the service and food were delicious every time. The root beer salmon is my favorite, but I haven’t eaten anything here that wasn’t delicious. I would definitely recommend coming at sunset, and the patio is fantastic when the weather is nice.

Gorgeous view with the large windows overlooking the water. Have been here twice. One for my little cousin’s sweet 16 where she had about 20 of her friends and 10 of us adults. Service was just good but when we asked for drinks they said they’d wait for everyone to show up… Really? Why can’t the adults have their beverages??? Food was up to par– everyone enjoyed their meals. Came here a second time for Sunday brunch with 12 of us and it was packed. Luckily we had reservations. Lots of options for food and food was quickly refilled at the buffet if it was getting low. Everything was seasoned well! I will say that the fruit and salad bar lacked a bit. The real winner is the valet guy! Always so personable and you will never see him frustrated with the heat or cold being out there!

Delightful! My husband and I had dinner on the patio while watching the sunset over the lake. It was beautiful! We split the crab cakes… Which were delicious. I had the succulent crab stuffed pork chop and my husband had the root beer glazed salmon. We both very much enjoyed our dinner. The only negative was that there were nats flying overhead that were a nuisance. Great atmosphere, great food, friendly staff. Highly recommended!

Well they say first impressions count and if that is so, I’d have to say they aren’t out to impress at all. My friend and I came for Sunday brunch and I will admit we came during the last hour of brunch, but people were still being seated, however, the food was not being replenished at all. Now I will also admit that I have some food issues, being Jewish I don’t eat pork, and being gluten intolerant I don’t eat anything with wheat. So you could call this entire buffet a gluten and pig fest because that is pretty much all there was to eat. Most buffets have a variety of choices, beef, poached or grilled fish, home fries or hash browns, steamed veggies, etc and I have no problem finding things to eat. In their defense they did have scrambled eggs, which were dried out and needed to be refilled, and mashed potatoes. If we had gotten there earlier I could have had roast beef, but while I was sitting in the lobby waiting for my friend I saw them take the last chunk of the roast beef back to the kitchen. There had to be at least three pounds of meat from what I saw go past me. Their saving grace was the omelet station where I was able to get a delicious omelet of onion, mushrooms, spinach & cheese. So let’s back up to another first impression. I had made a reservation and arrived early. I told the girl at the desk I would wait for my friend before being seated. The seating area that had a seat available was to the side of the door in a little alcove, so when my friend arrived she didn’t see me sitting there. When she walked in the girl standing at the desk either was not there or didn’t bother to mention that I was waiting on the side. So after waiting I finally call my friend and she is wandering around the restaurant looking for me, we finally get taken to our seats, which was in the bar because they had a wedding they had to set up for later in the day. She was about to seat us at the very tall tables and I asked if we could sit at a normal table. Not quite sure if I should take it as a compliment, maybe I don’t look old, but word to the wise think twice about seating older people at tall bar tables sometimes we have a hard enough time just walking let along climbing up on a seat that is four feet off the floor. So off she goes to clear the last«normal» table, then shows us to that one. Now, being in the bar area we can see the main buffet set up on the end of the room in what appears to be the dance floor. So walking through the buffet I see there is only hot food, no salad, fruit, desert etc. and I’m thinking is this it? I chose some mashed potatoes and an omelet since there was nothing else I could choose. As I return to our table I see another customer walk in to the bar area from the hallway with a little bowl of fruit and I ask her where did you get the fruit? The girl who showed us to our seat then says«Oh we are set up in two areas». I’m thinking oh, wouldn’t that have been something you should have told us when we first sat down? Once we sat down with our plates I made a comment to my friend that Wow, I know we were late but I was expecting a little more than this! Our waiter Chris turned around from the other table and said How can I make it better for you? Whew a breath of fresh air! I told him about the pork and gluten issues that I didn’t think he could help that, but he bent over backwards to make sure we had drink refills. I also mentioned to him the issue with finding all the food. He told me the girls were a little confused today because of the changes, but normally I would have been the one to seat you and explain the lay out, and he apologized profusely! Chris is a keeper he knows what he’s doing. A couple of times we tried to get the attention of one of the girls milling around by the bar to ask for more Splenda, because Chris was really busy and they would look in our direction but turn their heads quickly. At one point my friend got up and grabbed the pitcher of Iced Tea off the bar and filled my glass because again we made eye contact with the gaggle of girls milling around but they avoided making contact with us. Seems to me if you are not on duty working you need to get out of sight so people do feel like you are avoiding them. We did have one other male waiter come by and ask if there was anything he could do for us, I asked if the omelet station was closed and he said he would check, as he was leaving I said would you like to know what I would like before you run off, just in case?, He laughed and said yeah I guess that would help, he came back with good news and then a few minutes later another omelet for me. All in all I was able to eat some salad, cold slaw, mashed potatoes, two small omelets and some fruit. It was all pretty good for buffet food. I have to say that Chris saved the day for Allure because otherwise I would have had a rather bad taste in my mouth.

They had a good burger but this place was a little over priced. The service was slow and the restaurant only had a good view to make it worth the price. Only tired this on a whim and not sure if I’ll go back. Oh, and make sure you don’t order the salad, it seems like the chef gets mad when someone orders a salad like it isn’t challenging enough. The cesar salad wasn’t really green, actually it was more like a white, bottom of the bag, lettuce pile with some cheese on top. I can’t even remember if I had chicken on top or not as I was too distracted by how bland my salad looked.

The best thing about this place is the anticipation while driving by those beautiful homes, thinking this place must have fantastic food to be THE restaurant placed near them. But then you see the actual restaurant, and it’s an eyesore. Then you taste the food, and realize you could have ate better at some chain restaurant. And finally you realize the owners must not care enough to employ competent staff that compliments the area they’re located at. Very disappointing.

We came here in date night. Group of 8. Reservations no problem. Drinks great. Service great. Timing of food perfect. Misled in fish. Tried to pass off mahi mahi as Chilean sea bass and over charge for it. Manager came and brought chicken and asparagus from a wedding party downstairs and actually admitted to that fact. SMH! The chicken was dry and Luke warm. And the manager never came back after we told him the chicken was cold and dry. Wow!

I have no idea why this place has such a high overall rating. I have been here during lunch twice and mistakenly came here for brunch once.(Never came back after eating the brunch which tasted like it all came straight from a freezer package to a catering pan) I don’t eat at Denny’s but from what I remember, they’re breakfast was better than Allure. Lunch was just ok, definitely not enough good food on the menu to come back. The only thing they have going for them is the some of the drinks and the property the restaurant sits on. Otherwise the service and food are not anywhere they should be for a place like this. They have the ability to have a one of the best restaurants on this side of lake Ray Hubbard and they choose to serve mediocre food that lacks any flavor. They food proves they don’t have real chefs in the kitchen, just a few $ 13/hr cooks.

THEWORSTDININGEXPERIENCE I’VEEVERHAD! I had the worst experience at this restaurant on Fathers Day. I called to make a reservation for 5 people outside on the patio. The hostess confirmed. On Fathers Day, when we arrived I was told the patio is closed due to the rain earlier in the morning, and the main dining hall was also closed as they were re-doing the floors. They walked us down to their basement area, where they had setup a few tables. It was the most awkward feeling sitting in there with my family, just felt like we were in someone’s living room. Not to mention we can hear all the noise from upstairs where they were fixing the floors. There was only 1 other occupied table in there, and now I can see why. We ordered the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich, steak, and the Chicken Sandwich. When the food came out we were surprised how cold everything was. We honestly all took a couple bites and left the rest. I told my waiter about my horrible experience and about the temperature of the food, and the fact that it was definitely not fresh, and he did not seem to care. The manager stopped by and was like«what?» I couldn’t believe his attitude, I paid full price for everything we ordered, tipped our waiter and just left. Unless you like cold, microwaved food, and sitting in a basement, I suggest you NOT eat here! And the management is terribly unprofessional. I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant before in my life! I would NEVER recommend this place!

My second visit to Allure did not go nearly as well as the first. Once again, we were mainly here to see our favorite local band, Slim Chance, and it’s a good thing that they put on a good show. The meal itself was a collection of service missteps, mediocre(or worse) food and, in general, a lackluster experience, especially for the price. The woes began when I ordered my entrée. I had selected the stuffed pork chop, but I was informed that they had«just run out» of them. This, somewhat early on a Saturday night. My backup selection was the top sirloin steak that I had on my last visit; good news is that the flavor was a little better, but the bad news is that it was a pitifully small piece(supposed to be 8 oz), with a good amount of visible fat that had to be tossed aside. Texture was a little tough, but not overly so. The second thing I tried was crab cake. It was a decent example, although with a little too much bread filler. Sadly, it was downhill after this. Some examples: Roasted corn: Fairly basic, lacking a little in flavor, and a little chewy Seared ahi tuna: Pale red color(bad sign), lacking seriously in taste Shrimp risotto: Shrimp was overcooked, and the rice was so undercooked that it was still crunchy. If this had been my entrée, I would have sent it back. Our server had good intentions, but his work was hampered by the kitchen and other staff. The collard greens I had ordered as a side came out as green beans instead; turns out, they were out of collards, too. I asked for a sub of broccolini, but it came too late to eat with the meal. Getting drink refills was a multiple request affair, and one guest requested a drink from the bar that never came at all. Topping it off was the 20% gratuity added for parties of 6; while we did, indeed, have such a party, the 20% was more than what the staff deserved. Bottom line: We’ll come back here if the band plays again, but we might well eat somewhere else first. This is a beautiful venue, but the food and service needs work.

What a beautiful place to eat! If you go right around dusk, it is the best as this restaurant overlooks Lake Ray Hubbard. Gorgeous. The food is pretty tasty and surprisingly, given where it is located, fairly affordable. The servers were great and very attentive without being too overbearing and on certain nights, they play live music. This place is perfect for all sorts of occasions and date nights! Go. Go now.

Came here during the work week… I think it may have been a Tuesday night. First off, this place is huge! When I walked in, there were all kinds of hallways and rooms and no one working the greeting desk so I just kinda wandered around until I found the back area where the bar and restaurant were serving food. Seeing how I was there on a Tuesday, the place was not packed at all. There were a few people sitting up at the bar and a couple of diners including a family with young kids that had the run of the place(I guess they’re locals who eat there all the time). The place had a weird«smell» to it. Maybe when it’s crowded and packed little nuances like that don’t stand out as much. The margaritas were tasty(high marks on that!). I ordered the ahi tuna appetizer for my meal and it was pretty decent. My companion ordered a burger with onion rings that looked great. The atmosphere seemed kinda dead, but then again, it was early in the week, so I came away being somewhat unimpressed but the view was amazing, probably even more so when the sun is shining! I would definitely give this place another shot — especially for Sunday brunch.

Don’t go here during prom season, wedding season, graduation, or any other event for that matter. It was my first time here, and I expected 5 star dining, and got a «Texas Roadhouse» vibe instead. We arrived here at 7:45, its almost 9:30 and not only did we order to go, we still have no food and are now standing OUTSIDE of the dining room. Our server was excellent, and did his best, but was sat with a birthday party, a graduation party, a family reunion and 3 other tables, including ours in less than a 5 minute window. The hostesses clearly don’t know how to seat wisely, and as a result, our server was clearly overwhelmed, the parties were about 10 people per group, we waited over an hour for a bacon cheeseburger, a shrimp sandwich, chicken, and a Salad? This facility is SEVERELYUNDERSTAFFED. Now, the appetizer made it to the table, as did the drinks, that weren’t even refilled. Though, The manager was kind enough to give us some type of resolution, hes actually a pretty nice guy! He managed to do some damage control. Five stars for great service, but the kitchen seriously needs to up their response time, the hostesses need to be aware of how they seat their guests, and as an added measure, they should notify the kitchen of how many open menus are in the dining rooms. And id say the food is great but i haven’t exactly eaten it so, for those reasons, minus three stars. *Update* Food = Might as well go to Saltgrass, bigger portions, better prices, and your Bacon burger will actually arrive with bacon on it. This was not worth the money that was spent.

Allure turned out to be the perfect place for my surprise engagement dinner. I planned to pop the question Friday evening and then head to Allure for dinner, so my newly ringed fiancée could discover all her friends and family waiting in a private room. And it went off without a hitch! I have to tell you honestly, however, Gretchen is the entire reason it worked out so well. Gretchen is the event coordinator for the restaurant, and we had spent a few days prior preparing the menu. I got a chance to share my story with her, and she selected the perfect room(the Veranda Room –with the giant patio), and the perfect set of servers. We had the spinach & artichoke dip, crab cakes, and root beer salmon ourselves, while our guests chose from our own menu of 7 things. It was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was incredible, and Gretchen popped in to say hello as well, which was an added bonus. Allure has the very best view of the water in Rockwall, and some of the best food and staff too. What’s not to love?! If you’re looking to hold an event, whether big or small, I would definitely call Allure and know you’re in good hands!

I actually LIVE in Chandler’s, so you ‘d think I’d come here more often. Brought my wife here for a date, and really liked it. Service was attentive & of course the view ‘s amazing. Oysters Rockefeller were a hit, as was the heirloom caprese salad(the wife adores caprese salad, so I knew my chances of scoring would be higher if I ordered it). I personally liked the root beer salmon. Wife was filled up on oysters & caprese so just had a bowl of the day’s soup — something dull like chicken veg(don’t remember). I note that the bar menu is less interesting, at least to me. If I’m paying $ 30 – 50 for a meal for two I ain’t getting burgers & chicken fingers !

Sat on the patio to have a nice view of the harbor! It was a lovely view… You’ll see the water and the boats. I called earlier that day around noon to put in reservations, they told me they weren’t taking reservations till I mention I wanted to sit on the patio, and that was available for reservation. Got there a little before my reservation, seated quickly, took maybe 4 – 5 minutes till our server came to ask us for drinks. I ordered a mango Mai tai… Very delicious and tropical, tasted better than a regular Mai tai. I’m not sure if our server was busy with tables inside the restaurants and outside but she wasn’t very attentive or talkative. Even the table next to us had to cancel the dessert… Not sure if that was the kitchen or servers fault but they didn’t seem happy with her. On to the food! I ordered a cheeseburger with Parmesan fries, I’ve had better burgers but the fries were good. My boyfriend ordered the chefs mac and cheese, very cheesy, tasty, flavorful… Wish the macaroni was bigger. When we asked for our bill it took some time, she dropped off the check… Waited for her to come back to take our card, started to get impatient, she came by to grab our card, again waited to come back. She handed my boyfriend the checkbook and all she said was«here you go» not looking at us. Most servers will say«thank you for coming in» or «enjoy your day» she wasn’t rude but wasn’t friendly. I won’t judge this place on the servers but servers are the face of the business and customers always remember their service.
