United States Post Office

This is a tiny little Post Office in the heart of Rockville but it does service a whole lot of customers. The lobby area is tiny and the line quickly extends outside in the PO Box space and even outside the building.
But the folks working here are efficient (if not necessarily quick). I have been here a couple of times right at 9 AM and they only have one person working the line, which makes the wait time even longer. But what can you do, it is a department of the Federal Government and high customer service is not their forte :)

Really good people at the post office. You should not have any problems at this post office. my best advice for any post office, stay calm and make sure you are correct. Remember its the post office policies not your own idea of what should happen or how things work. I give this post office 5 stars for the people who work behind the counters. Thank you

America, when you’ve been in a good post office you remember it because a bad post office does things to your frustration level that makes you think back to good place like missing a long lost childhood friend.
I have been mistreated here and have seen other people mistreated here. I’m going to spend half a second seeing it from the perspective of the staff and think all the problems boils down to this crew of staffers just being jaded towards the public or tired of their jobs.
Look, if I’m next in line and I can spot one of the ‘usual suspects’ as the open servicer, my tactic is I bend down to start tying my shoes to let someone else pass me knowing full well I wear zip up boots!
Yes I’m that serious about avoiding the drama. Question my judgement? Look I have enough hit moments to fill up one of those PBS specials like I’m selling Barbara Streisand concert hits on DVD! Figure this classic, the short Asian lady with glasses speaks waaay too loud and when she makes a mistake does not admit to it or apologize. One of my «favorites» is when I was paying for something on a debit card with a $ 250 cost that she entered as $ 2500! When it declined she looked at me and yelled ‘Your card declined! See…” and then swiveled the entire screen around to show the whole waiting room a big red error message. I knew she was wrong, possibly a tad racist, but she caused such a scene I walked off because my XMEN power of mentally crushing a human being with my eyes was on the frtiz.
On the spot, I called my bank and they told me that she keyed in 2500! and it threw up the fraud protection and shut down my card for an entire day!
Never went back to her!
Next hit, the lady with the ‘sleepy voice’ Im sure this must be her ‘Clark Kent’ cover job and she’s really a crime fighting DJ at night because each sentence takes for ever to come out and when she does, she asks questions or gives you service options that assume you are a) an overgrown toddler or b) don’t know there are simpler ways to pay or ship something because its your first day ever in a post office.
Here’s a goodie, I watched the very thin, short hair cut, sleep deprived Asian man yell (literally) at a lady to hurry up filling out her letter address because the location needed to close. When she said please stop yelling at me you’re scaring me, he said I don’t care if its scaring you, hurry up. You need to be faster. Then started to mumble about her with the other Asian guy like she was a joke thinking he should worry about her feelings.
I also watched an elderly white lady walk out soo angry about her treatment that she stopped me — A BROWN PERSON — in the lobby just to vent about how bad she was treated and that she thinks ‘people like them bring the whole neighborhood down’ and that she has ’ a mind to never come back to that place.’@_@ That was the coup de gras of all moments. The only person in that place that’s been reliably on her game in my opinion is the lady who is short and looks Polynesian, typically a pony tail wearer.
My advice if you have to go to this place, pure luck if you don’t walk out witnessing or experiencing frustration, annoyance or embarrassment. Do what you can to get in, and get out. lol

I received a notification stating my package was delivered — I never received it. They were required to bring it to my leasing management office if I wasn’t home. I called customer service and the lady insisted it was my fault and that I should have been home? lol hilarious huh? I was enraged and and called bullshi* and she hung up on me after stating that I was being aggressive with profanity. I called again but this time the guy was puzzled why the previous idiot said the things she had said. I filed a claim and we both laughed about it. I then contacted the original sender and they gladly sent a replacement but this time I’m requiring a signature. USPS hires contractors and sometimes more often then not they won’t care to follow arrangements made by leasing office or whomever. Eff those cats.
Out of context, but ever since I moved from VA to MD i’ve been doing nothing but speaking with customer service through various companies… So far, I am not liking MD.

This is best post office in the area, hands down. Super friendly (and competent) staff, lines move pretty quickly and there is plenty of parking in the back lot. Right next to the fire station of Rollins Road (off Rockville Pike in N. Bethesda).

Hate this location With a passion… There is no self service and no self drop off… and I’ve been a few times and every time, a different person charges me differently when it comes to shipping a package of the same exact dimensions and weight. It’s so frustrating… I had one lady charge me because it was one ounce over what I listed where I had never been charged extra for just one ounce… And a different woman charge me double that when it’s one ounce over… They don’t explain anything they just say those are their rules and look at you like you are stupid… It’s so irritating since at other post offices I pay a consistent price. I just don’t understand… This was a problem over a span of 2 years …also the post office is really small so it’s always packed… Now recently they delivered my package to the wrong address and I called over 10 times to try to locate it… Little Asian woman that is always there told me she couldn’t track my package because she didn’t have access to that information… Are you serious? You’re the post office… But I Finally got in contact with the manager. Russell was her name I believe. Like the other people that worked there. She took my information and said she would call me back in an hour… And just as expected none of them called me back… I understand the post office is busy but if it’s a customer that has been calling every day for 2 – 3 weeks. Would you want to take care of that and get it over with??? I had to keep calling the manager because she always forgot to call me back… When they found my where my package was. They asked me to go retrieve it… Why should I go retrieve my own package when you guys delivered it to the wrong address… if you are unsure of the address… DONT LEAVE THE PACKAGE JUST ANYWHERE… Take it back to the post office and I would gladly go pick it up… It took 2 months for me to find where my package was, and another 2 weeks for them to go retrieve the package and deliver it to me… my package was 2 – 3 day priority mail and had insurance and took almost 3 months… All of this was extremely irritating thinking that someone took or opened my package and the post office didn’t even care or offer to pay me the insurance coverage… I’ve just had enough of this post office.

Rudest person I have ever met at a postal facility. Was nasty to me because i didn’t «understand» what she was trying to tell me. Boss didn’t seem to care, if i didn’t have to every once in a while, i would never go there.

This is probably the fastest post office I’ve ever been in. There is always a line since I usually have to go on the weekends, but it takes about half the time to get through as it would at any other location. So standing in line here is really not a big deal. The customer service is really great — they are willing to help you figure out what packaging/​postage you need. There is a post office closer to my work, but I won’t go there anymore because the service was terrible. This post office, on the other hand, is so easy and the people working here are actually nice.

It’s usually crowded and usually fine, but I brought a pre-​paid package with postage already afixed in today and was told by the Asian woman «you rine». I didn’t understand her so i said what’s that? She repeated «you rine» and walked away. My assumption is that despite having a pre-​paid package that can be placed in a designated spot like the other post offices in the area, at this one you have to stand in line with your pre-​paid package. What is the point of paying ahead of time then ???
I placed my package on the counter for her to see when she returned from wherever she was going. Now «You Rine My Package» while I go to work.

Our business mail is being delivered to another business due to the carrier not paying attn. to the address, we receive payments for services preformed that keeps our business going. This location and its curriers just don’t care. How do you give mail with clear addresses to the wrong place ??? Sad, a mail person used to be respected. It is no surprise that its a failing business.

I agree with the previous posts that the post office at Rollins Ave is a fantastic, friendly neighborhood location. This establishment also has a great selection of specialty stamps and now has my future business. In my experience as well, all of the tellers were working if a line of folks was waiting. Praise be to a time-​mindful and functional post office crew! You are the exception…

OK, I have to say, this is a pretty amazing USPS! It’s the only post office that I’ve ever encountered where ALL of the service bays are open when it’s busy! WOW!
The person that helped me even greeted me and helped me go through my options to ship my international packages. NICE.
Despite the line, I got through in less time then I normal spend at a post office. Definitely a fan!

this USPS location is AMAZING!
first time I ever went to a post office and there were ALL 4 TELLERS THERE! I was a bit discouraged when I walked in because the line was through the door, but the line went SUPER fast and the post office guys were so nice and sweet!
I will be sure to always come to this post office if I ever need to mail anything out now.
