Where to start… First off the hostess was very rude, no smile, no friendly salutations, and when my food was ready(I ordered to-go) she shoved my food across the bar and then turned around, nothing else. The food, horrible. I ordered yellow curry with shrimp, the shrimp was so overcooked it was almost inedible. There was literally an entire heart of an onion in my curry, really?

Absolutely one of my new favorite Thai restaurants! Since I am always on the go, I usually just order take-out which usually takes only 10 minutes for them to prepare my order. I love this restaurant because whenever I ask them to make the food extra spicy, they actually do it! I love spicy food and I have been to several places where«extra spicy» is equivalent to no spice at all. So I really appreciate that this restaurant can cater to meet my spice expectations. Will definitely be returning back!

This is the 2nd time we got turn away at 8“clock for dinner on Sunday. We are always been a loyal customer of Tara Asia. But most recent incident is unacceptable for business as there are 3 competitor around for twice we went to Thai pavilion instead. The 1st time at 8 they said they only take to go orders Only. Today they did not said that but when we walk in they asked us to order right away since they will be closing soon. Who chase customers away like that? This is bad for business and if you the owner I hope you train your staff not to say stuff like this to chase customer away.

Not a fan. I tried this place a couple times since the prices are cheaper than Thai Pavilion. I’ve had their fried fish lunch special, the basil fried rice and most recently, their yellow curry with chicken. Doesn’t taste authentic.

Omg so good. I love their Thai iced tea it is so delicious and I’ve tried various dishes here. The prices are reasonable with the amount that you’re getting. Every time I come it’s not really crowded which makes for a comfortable environment. Although some staff don’t speak English that well they still do their best to provide a great customer service experience so I definitely recommend this place.

Tara Asia used to be so good. Tonight the service was bad, the food was slow coming and of sub par flavor, and the portion was small. It wasn’t even busy, yet I rarely saw our waitress and it took over 35 minutes to get my food. I’ve been coming here for almost ten years, but over the last year it’s really gone downhill; I haven’t had a good experience anytime recently. I ordered my favorite dish, beef pad see ew– the beef was chewy and flavorless and the broccoli tasted like water. I asked for extra sauce but that request was not fulfilled. I don’t think I’ll be coming back anytime soon.

I would recommended this Tara Asia, Thai foods restaurant to family and friends. I’m alway eat here because the foods is consistent good quality. Customer service is too good to be true but it’s so true so that made me always come back with my hubby. Anyone love Pina Colada? I always get it here because they make it so perfectly good.

I used to really enjoy the food when they first opened. They went from free appetizers, a mint, fresh food to rubbery chicken and no freebies at all. It has been very disappointing to watch this slow decline. To top it all off, the prices have steadily increased as the quality has decreased. I won’t be rushing back. I work close by and that’s why I used to go often.

I go there for the lunch specials! For $ 13 I can get fried chicken wontons and a huge portion of drunken noodles! They keep the water coming especially when they know you ordered something spicy! I always get at least two meals out of the lunch portion, which is more than worth the $ 13! The staff is ok, friendly enough and not too bothersome while your enjoying your meal and chatting. There is outdoor seating and carryout as well. I will definitely keep making this a regular lunch spot of mine.

Every time my large family tries to plan a family dinner we always end up here. We always leave disappointed, but the next time it comes time to plan another dinner we just end up back here because by that time we’ve already forgotten how bad it is. This last time was no exception. We were a party of twelve and we were seated in the back. We ordered a few orders of the Basil Fried Rice and they tasted horrible. There wasn’t a SINGLE piece of basil in any of them. I’ve ordered this countless times at other Asian restaurants and this is the first time that it came without any basil. I brought this to the attention of our waitress because I thought they had brought out the wrong item, but she said it was right. Not only did it have no basil in it, but it had far too much soy sauce and it was so spicy that it was inedible. At the end of our meal, my aunt brought it to the manager’s attention and he gave us a new Basil Fried Rice(this time with basil!!). He gave some lame excuse about how the chefs must’ve forgot to add in the basil. I also had the spicy papaya salad and it didn’t taste good either. We’ve given this place far too many chances. Hopefully this is our last time here.

Monumentally mediocre and outrageously overpriced. The Drunken Noodles were somewhat spicy, but devoid of all other flavor. While the Panang Curry was highly underseasoned, the Tom Yum was disgustingly oversalted. I’m calling for a redistribution of fish sauce. We were so hoping this would be a reliable Thai place, as it’s one of the few that delivers, but we were entirely disappointed. We’ll just stick with making the trek over to Sabai Sabai – best Thai in the county.

Love their Panang Curry and Drunken Noodles. Cute place with a decent bar, and always have good service. My SO is vegan, and they are always very attentive to her needs, which is a huge plus.

Quick meal in the middle of a Sunday afternoon. Been meaning to stop by but as it is over by the movie theater, I always forget it is there. I was only going to grab a quick lunch as it was 2:30 already. I saw Golden Triangles($ 6) and I knew I had to try them. Golden fried pieces of tofu served with a sweet and sour dipping sauce with chopped peanuts… yum! So simple but so delicious! I wanted to eat them all but as I ordered more food, I tried to control myself.‘ I couldn’t decide which curry to order. I am not a big spicy eater and the green, red and yellow curries were all at 2 chili peppers. As I had never tried the Green curry I figured the thai eggplant sounded yummy. I chose beef($ 10) which ended up being very tender. The sauce was so delicious that I wanted to drink it but I knew my throat would scream! Bamboo shoots and white rice did nothing to soften the heat. Oh, but it tasted so good! Brown rice is $ 1 extra. Ice tea is Lipton($ 2) and it was brewed just the way I like it. Thai ice tea is too sweet for me. The ladies were so nice that when they boxed up my leftovers, they put everything in a separate container. Will be back.

I recently went here for the first time with some friends — for most of us, it was their first time as well. This is one of two Thai restaurants in the area, but this is more affordable that the other one(Thai Pavilion) and has more lunch choices. On this visit, I had the Hawaiian Chicken with Rice($ 7.45). It is described as chicken stir-fried with cashew nuts, pineapple and bell pepper in light sweet and sour brown sauce. I enjoyed it along with a glass of Thai Tea which I always try to have at most Thai restaurants. One of my friends had the Singapore Noodle and they enjoyed their dish as well(the noodles are very thin). I cannot remember what everyone got, but I know that we plan to come back to this restaurant again. Right before paying for my meal, I remembered a sign I saw near the register when I entered the restaurant and it said $ 1 off Sticky Rice. Now I have heard about Sticky Rice from different folks, but I have never actually tasted it and figured since they are giving some discount(Yeah…I know it is only $ 1), I might as well try it since I was there. I ordered Sticky Rice with Mango and got it to go. When I tasted this item(which was new to me), my mind said«This is Yummy» and so within two two’s, this dessert disappeared from my box as I ate it rather quickly. It did not last and I do plan to go back for some more Sticky Rice at this affordable place. Yum.

Usually come here for business and it’s always moderately busy. I always order the veggie pad thai with tofu. On occasion I get the coconut jumbo shrimp and/or the drunken noodles-both of which are delicious! This place always provides consistent service and the food is out in a reasonable time even when they’re busy. Staff is friendly, good for take out and the food is delish!

Not bad. It’s not as good as I remember Tara Thai being which is in another area of Rockville. The service was not the greatest(they forgot the spring rolls we ordered), even though we were pretty much the only people in the restaurant. The chicken satay was very good, but I remember Tara Thai used to give you slices of toast with it which I always used to use to dip in the peanut sauce and pickled veggies. No toast here :(The drunken noodles were still very good though. The pad thai and thai iced tea were average. Next time I’m in town I’ll go back to Tara Thai to see if it’s as good as I remember it.
