I love this beer & wine! Good prices! Best part is they close everyday at 1AM! Only thing I wish is they had more selections on wine!

Being that I’m quite a beer snob lately, I was left wanting much more from this location. Selection is mediocre at best, and with so-so prices to boot. definitely check out Belby a few blocks up the road, you will not be disappointed by them!

Talbot Beer & Wine is that rare oasis in a desert, the one convenience store open late amidst the sea of darkened storefronts comprising Rockville’s late night scene. Sure, they don’t have a huge selection of single vineyard wines or craft beer, but their selection is — for Montgomery County — inexpensive and rotated frequently. They also love to play mellow music throughout the store, a pleasant surprise for booze slingers. Stop by for your late night fix, be it sugar, caffeine, or otherwise. …and it’s actually spelled Talbott Beer & Wine.

I had lunch at Tamari and decided to go in here to get a bottle of wine for dinner with the wife. I also bought a small bag of chips for my son. Just like most kids, my son wanted to open it up right away. As I was opening it, I saw that the expiration date so I walked back into the store to show the store clerk. I told her that it is expired and she immediately became offensive and said that they have a no refund policy. I told her that I just wanted to grab another one but clearly they were all expired. I asked for the owner and of course she said she is. She was so incredible rude and had the biggest attitude. She was the only one there and refused to rectified the situation. I wasn’t going to have shouting match with her so I left. There’s so many other Beer & Wine stores. Don’t waste your time with the angry Korean lady who sells expired chips. Beware!

This is my 2nd fav shop to go purchase beer in the Rockville area. Gilly’s is clearly the best in Rockville(largest selection which includes many famous microbrewery beers from the US, decent food selection, free wine and beer tastings, as well as exotic beer from all over the world). I like to go get beer whenever I feel like it. It so happens that«whenever I feel like it» is at hours when all beer shops are closed… that is except Talbot, which is open till 1am every single day of the week: rain or shine, X-mas, Thanksgiving Day, 30 inches of snow. Ok I’m exaggerating a bit but you get my point. The owner of the shop is a nice guy who knows his beer. He does bring in the best of what is allowed by Montgomery County. In case you didn’t know, liquor and beer is regulated by the county and it must be approved by the county for it to be sold. A partial list of some of the rarer beers they sell are: Midas Touch(Dogfish Head Ale) Troegs Troegenator O’hara’s Irish Red San Miguel(Filipino beer) Every so often when I go, the owner will bring in new beers into the mix and it’s a nice surprise to find something new that he recommends that is on par with the beers that I have on the list above. A must recommend to night-owls like myself.
