My go to spot for kabobs in the Rockville/Gburg area. Combo 1 is the dish of choice.(Beef/chicken) With lots and lots of their homemade green /spicy sauce!!!

This place is near my office and I often go for a quick lunch. The meat of all kind is always a good choice but also their salmon, to my surprise, is quite good. In the summer I enjoy the yogurt drinks that seem to work well as thirst quencher, the green sauce is also good and all for a reasonable price.

This place has ruined me for grilled salmon anywhere else. Order it medium, actually order everything medium. Everything is great there, even the friendly service. I recommend ordering the tea which tastes like rose-petals. I eat there at least once a month. No complaints at all.

Every single time I call or come here they are out of koobideh. What Persian restaurant runs out of koobideh so often?!

I love their koobideh kabob. It is always grilled to perfection and full of flavorful juice. The service there is pretty good except sometimes it takes awhile. When it is not crowded, my food is prepared with 15min or so. They also have Mexican CocaCola, which goes so well with my kabob.

The first time I tried it, I thought it was great! Then, the last three times were way less than stellar. I mean, it wasn’t horrible. However, unfortunately, the rice didn’t taste at all the way it should have, the chicken kabob was poorly seasoned, and the koobideh didn’t have enough onion. I will say that the mast-o-khiar with the jalapeño is slammin’, though. I really hope that some of the criticism finds its way into the kitchen and I can change this review to give it more stars.

Their beef and chicken kabobs are always flavorful and delicious. The service is always fast and efficient. Love this place! If you’re craving Middle Eastern cuisine, definitely check out Matt’s. While it may get busy in the evenings and on weekends, the food is most definitely worth it.

My favorite Persian lunch spot. The food is like eating in grandmas kitchen. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu. Highly recommended!

The Kabobs are very inconsistent here. One day the Kobedeih is sometimes chewy like shoe leather and sometimes it breaks apart without a knife needed. They’re also cheap about the spicy green mint/cilantro sauce. I’ll spend more and go to Yekta, or spend a little less at Sam’s Hookah Café

Amazing amazing Kabobs! Ambience is wonderful as well. They also provide hookah. I ordered the kubideh(best kabob in existence) and my friend ordered the chicken. TBH I order kubideh kabob everywhere(cuz beef is always more flavorful than chicken) but this place serves it best!!!

I’ve been slow on Unilocal for a few months now but couldn’t resist posting this! You guys have been awesome in the past but last week’s spicy kabob over rice was horrible. The rice was overcooked and mashed(never like this before). The meat was overcooked and chewy as well. Take a step back and revisit your QA process.

The spicy chicken kabob platter was on point! Tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Will definitely come back.

The chicken is my favorite so I was happy to learn they also offer a chicken sandwich. They make a spicy chicken version as well. Definitely try it! It comes with a healthy side salad. You really can not beat the price for it either.

Came here for the first time with family and had a delicious meal — beyond our expectations. The portions were HUGE. Among we, four adults, ordered: –Hummus + Bread –Kashk O Bademjan(sautéed eggplant with spices) –Chicken Wings –Salmon Kabob –Chenjeh Shish Kabob –Special Combo Maybe too much. We ended up packing up nearly two full platters leftover to go home. Everything was well seasoned. The chicken and steak(Chenjeh) and Koobideh were pretty moist and flavorful. Our server/manager gave us an abundance of sauces to go along with our meal as well. The total came out to $ 65ish. Very inexpensive meal for the great amount of food that was received. 4 star and not 5 star because we had to wait some time between our apps and entrees. We heard the«order up!» bell ring twice while waiting.

I order delivery from this place at least twice a month, if not more, and it is consistently delicious. The meat is always tender and juicy, never over cooked. Pretty large portion size. They have great hummus, and awesome spicy green sauce. Shout out to Matt who will deliver sometimes and is awesome!

Hidden gem! Hummus perfect, fresh. Kashk-o-Bademjan the best! My chicken wings were grilled to perfection and my son’s salmon kabob also beautiful to behold and consume! Our waiter was marvelous, friendly. We will return!

I had been going here for about a year and ordered the same thing(chicken kabob with rice). However, it never tasted the same as the time before. Sometimes it was good and other times it was… questionable. There’s no consistency. On a positive note, the tzatziki was always good.

The interior of the restaurant was nice and spacious. It was not too crowded at the time I went there. There was a side door for ordering out, I ordered some beef kabob and grilled chicken wings. They were very tasty the chicken was so moist but had a great charred flavor the marinate was good. It’s definitely one of the better Iranian kabob restaurant.

Matt’s is typically not busy when I stop by. However, more recently, the restaurant has become busier which is great because I enjoy the food here. My go to item is usually Combo I which includes Koobideh(ground beef) and chicken kabob served with rice, Taftoon bread, and a grilled tomato. Both the Koobideh and chicken kabob are always packed with flavor and never tough to eat. Both are seasoned well and the portion sizes are generous. The rice is always cooked well and not overly buttery. Love the grilled tomato! The bread is okay and definitely much better when served warm. I’ve also tried the beef and lamb kabobs, which I enjoy. The salmon kabob on the other hand is just okay. The one time I had it, it was pretty dry. I have yet to try their daily specials, but would like to. Staff is friendly and patient while you decide what to order. Take out is ready in no time. Love that you can order online via Unilocal!Parking is ample.
