we came here with friends for some happy hour (without the hh discount)
the beers choices are pretty good, and the atmosphere is perfect for having a drink and hangout with your friends.
We ordered a meatball sub and country pâté. They were not bad, as for the sub we had better, and I’m not a big fan of the tarragon mustard (which tastes quite like wasabi), but my husband loves it a lot.
we will definitely come back to try the other subs and the good beers.

It is hard for me to get excited about a sandwich shop. But I would be excited to come back to this place. The sandwiches are delicious, creative, and extremely diverse. There’s a sandwich for every palate. My kids had a grilled cheese sandwich — with a side of thinking. Not the healthiest I will limit but they loved it. My wife had the Bacon Bree and strawberry sandwich. It was extremely rich but but wonderful I went simple — I have the roast beef Sammy. The horseradish came through but didn’t overpower, the baguette was nice and crusty and the meet was tender and high-​quality. I would definitely come back here again.

Go here all the time. It’s a liquor store with a small bar inside. Beer selection is awesome and you can do your own tasting by getting the small cups.

This is an awesome place — our team stops in on a weekly basis for Happy Hour — the staff and service is incredibly friendly, the rotating taps vary the beer selection, and the sandwiches are great! Kalin who is our weekly hostess and now part of our team is simply awesome as she already knows the type of beer we will enjoy! All in all — a fantastic place to just hang out and relax after work!

Don’t judge a book by it cover. The place has a fantastic beer and fine wine selection AND a great sandwich menu. Tucked away in the corner next to urban BBQ Gilly’s is an exercise in carefully selected products. Their beer and wine cover all the classic regions and iconic producers without a lot of redundancy. Many restaurants should have a selection as thorough and carefully chosen.
But the sandwiches… great meats and charcuterie, thinly sliced and stacked high on excellent quality breads. Some are simple classics like the italian and ghost pepper grilled cheese. But the imagination and parings move a lot higher after that, excellent quality brie, and Pâté and roasted pork shoulder. Yummy. All is good but be patient and ready to wait, this required time to prepare but it is totally worth the wait.

Had a half-​sammie and a 4oz craft beer for cheeeeaaaaap! Man, that sammie was frikkin-​A awesome! Forgot which one, but it had a delicious aoli in it and was warm. Did you hear that? That was my tummy growling wanting more!

The sandwiches here are damn amazing, y’all. Really, really good. The beer selection is also top notch, the place is dog friendly, the people that work there are great, and though the seating is limited, the atmosphere is really chill and friendly. I love Gilly’s! The only reason they don’t have 5 stars from me is it takes For​.Ev​.Er. to get your sandwiches and their phone is always busy, so calling an order in ahead of time to be able to avoid a long wait does not work. When you are very hungry and/​or are trying to get somewhere by a certain time, this can be pretty darn frustrating. HOWEVER if you are not yet super hungry, go to Gilly’s. The sandwiches are worth the wait.

I love BLTs and Gilly’s has the. best. BLT. I think the prices are a bit on the higher side but the fabulousness of the food really make it worth it.
The space is no frills shop with random tidbits (like $ 6 gourmet chocolate bars) and hard to find varieties. The tables are cramped and there is a narrow bar along the back wall.
The employees are generally nice and accommodating.
Overall, it’s a great local gem.

The sandwich selection here is amazing! The staff is really nice and courteous too. The rare prime rib slices were just perfect :) Tips: add all the veggies into your sandwich! And beware of bottled sodas, they may be flat :/

One of the few places to grab craft beer in the Rockville area, behind the main drag on Rockville Pike. This is very close to the Twinbrook metro stop. Next door to Urban BBQ. Place is pretty cramped, lots of beers on high shelves throughout the store. A good amount of beer in fridges. Decent Belgian selection with Scottish, English beers. Can find some interesting stuff here. Only problem is the price level here, which is out of this world. Completely off the wall, 70−100% higher prices than normal. Laughable. Will never come back. If you are buying beer here, you are getting ripped off.

I was in town for business for a few days and you know the first thing I did was search Unilocal from good places to eat. This place was right near the top of the list with a great rating, and I love sandwiches and beer, so the choice to eat here was an easy one.
The sandwich I had (Roast Beef and Blue Cheese) was pretty damn good although very rich, and the beer selection is pretty solid. I ate at a handful of different places during my 3 day stay, and this was easily the best. The only downside is the cost. It’s damn pricey. That wouldn’t stop me from going back there if I take another trip to the area, but it might prevent me from going every week if I lived in town.
Nice work Gilly’s. If I am ever back in the area, I will be back in for another sandwich. Oh and maybe more than one beer.

I’m so glad Unilocal helped me find this place! The prices are a little steep for a sandwich but they are huge! My boyfriend shared a 9 inch Italian with no mayo and got a hummus plate because we were afraid it wouldn’t be enough. We were wrong.
The best part of the sandwich was probably the chewy baguette. The herb dressing added to it was the perfect amount that gave it just enough flavor without sogging everything down. I had the sandwich 2 days later and it was still as great as the first day I ate it!
The hummus plate was also awesome. We were imagining a small pita and some carrot sticks but there was toasted baguette slices with garlic spread on it, a whole tomato, cucumber, red onion, and olives. It was well worth 10 bucks.
The bartender was also nice and gave us great suggestions. I got a vanilla porter which was delicious and my boyfriend got a beer from denizens in silver spring. We definitely wanna come back for a cheese plate and other sandwiches soon

I’ve heard its good but never actually had the food myself.
The staff is friendly. Always helpful with recommendations. Not sure if kegs are available.

Sandwiches are nothing short of amazing. Sure they’re a little on the pricey side, but they are 100% worth it. Definitely high quality. Comes with a pickle and you can order ahead of time if you call in.
Gilly’s also has a seriously impressive selection of craft beer and wine. And they have a tiny bar inside where you can enjoy lunch or just hang out. I really liked the vibe. Super chill, great low-​key getaway from this awful winter we’ve been having.

Truly an awesome selection of craft beer– both on tap and in bottle. But holy moly the prices are through the roof. I’m talking drive-​to-​VA-​instead-​if-​you-​have-​time through the roof. But if you need to unpad your wallet a bit, you’re in luck.
The growler club is decent, half price fills on Sunday. Happy hour food and beer are good too, but come early since seating is VERY limited.
