Aladdin Carpet & Floors

I was referred to Aladdin by a family friend. Eddie visited my home and took measurements for two bathrooms and flooring (vinyl, hardwood, and carpet). The cost for the hardwood and vinyl were a tad higher than another quote, but I was willing to pay the amount since they were referred.
The only concern I have is regarding carpet. I mentioned to Eddie that I had no intention of staying in the house for a long period of time. The intention is to make the property a rental in the near future. Therefore, top-​of-​the-​line carpet was not needed. I wanted polyester carpet versus his recommendation (stainmaster carpet = $$$). I sent him samples of what I wanted. During a discussion yesterday, he 1) questioned my finances and 2) told me that I wanted cheap products. The Department of Housing and Urban Development set guidelines of 7 years for the replacement of carpet in rental units. Therefore, why would I spend $ 2,600 on less than 500 sq/​ft of carpet that will have to be replaced soon?
He followed up with an e-​mail stating, «we would rather pass on business with the opportunity to may be do business in the future in in stead of selling products that are sub standard just to make a sale.»
So, what does this mean? You may want to skip Aladdin if you 1) anticipate owning a rental property, 2) are interested in anything but high-​end products or 3) already have something already in mind and disagree with their opinion.
As I stated, I was OK with the vinyl and hardwood quotes. I didn’t receive a bathrrom quote, as we hadn’t arranged a time for me to visit the showroom to choose finishings. Its unfortunate approx. 500 sq/​ft of carpet ruined an entire business relationship (flooring & bathrooms).
I guess I will be moving with another company in Jessup, MD. I had a great experience and they listed to the consumer once they gave their professional opinion.

Sasan brought samples to the house and ordered more to be delivered to give me greater selection. We’ve been very happy with the service, installation, and the carpet has been wonderful!

Met with Sasan on Monday, had my basement carpet installed Friday night. Very fast, he worked with my family on speed because of a last minute move. The guys that came to install came late due to issues on earlier jobs but we didn’t mind. When they got here they were done within 2 – 3 hours. My husband recommended we go with Aladdin because his family had awesome experiences in the past. Sasan was professional and personable. Definitely have our business in the future!
