I work in RVC i love this place but the only problem is they are cash only wich i often have credit cards thats the only reason why you would see me at dunkin donuts next door when i forget to go to the bank

Perfect coffee every time. Strong and flavorful iced coffee, delicious lattes, great baked goods. My favorite coffee shop in town. Really friendly and accommodating staff too!

PERFECTION. The only complaint I have is that they aren’t open 24⁄7! WHY!!! Kookaburra is definitely a little hole in the wall staple in RVC. Their coffee is excellent! They only use liquid sugar(because they are doing it right). They have several flavores that you can add into your coffee and they have tons of different baked goods. Come into Kookaburra at anytime and you’ll definitely see locals sitting outside enjoying their coffee or inside chatting up a storm. Everyone that works there is super friendly and talk to you like you are old friends catching up! My personal favorite is their ice coffee/cold brew with a pump of coconut and a pump of caramel(delicious). I believe all of their flavors are sugar free so I also get sugar too! Also, their Danny Zuko(Zucchini) bread is great too! Try Kookaburra and you’ll forget you were even a Gold Member at Starbz! There isn’t much to seating. Maybe two or three window seats(usually taken) and two or three little tables outside(again, usually taken). Kookaburra is located right next to the LIRR station so it’s super convenient to jump right on the train, or park right in the front of you’re not. There may be a line but they move quickly, so don’t be intimidated! I’ve been an avid Starbucks gold member for about two years now and always tried to get to Dunkin in between, but those days are long gone. I’m literally waking up craving Kookaburra! Not sure if that’s good or if I have a problem, but I’ll update you guys on that later! Haha WARNING: You may want to get an XL coffee because you pretty much drink half of it before you leave the store because it’s so delicious. Seriously! TIP: CASHONLY

Great coffee, great bagels, my complaint would probably be that it’s always busy and sometimes might take a while. But it’s worth the wait!!! Recommend it 100%

Not quite enough seating. I wish they could expand. They are doing very well– seems like they could?

I seriously wake up in the morning craving this places coffee. Best coffee I’ve had in Long Island(since moving from the city) and everyone who works here is extremely great and friendly.

First time here today and I can safely say that I’m deleting my Starbucks app. I’m sipping the caramel ICEDCOFFEE right now which is AMAZING from the very first sip. The staff is welcoming, genuine and friendly. They have a wider selection of pastries and expresso-based drinks than I expected from such a small shop. I ordered the Irish soda bread and the organic carrot cake. The soda bread taste fresh and is perfectly sweeten(I’m saving the carrot cake for later :) I’m really looking forward to coming back here and tasting one of their fraps.

I took one star off because of the bakery item I got, which I will explain later on. I got the iced latte and it was one of the best coffee I have ever tasted!!! Waaaaaay better than Starbucks which is overrated anyway. That coffee tasted like it just came out of the roaster!!! Now onto the chocolate croissant I got. Well, I am not sure if they baked that on the premise or bought it from outside. But it was waste of my money. Croissant was not flaky and it was just like regular bread, rather heavy, and the chocolate was like chocolate cream. HOWEVER, this is not a bakery but a coffee shop so I guess I should not be criticizing too much. I just expected like the one I get from my favorite French bakery but that was my mistake! Anyway, I wish this place was close by. I would be there every day…

This is a wonderful coffee shop! Their muffins are divine. If they had more seating available, I would come here all the time. They only have two tables outside and two inside(the inside seating is cramped as it is).

There is a dunkin donuts only a few stores away but I will pick kookaburra every single time! The coffee was fresh and delicious, as were the bagels. They also had some great looking yogurts, juices, and treats. The staff was very friendly and so were the customers by the way. I was in with my 2 little ones and they were very patient while my toddler decided what she wanted. I almost gave 4 stars since they only take cash, but I took one bite of the apricot breakfast bar I ordered & couldn’t give anything other than 5 stars!

Stumbled on the coffee shop and glad I skipped the DD on the corner. I am an avid coffee drinker and enjoy a good brew. Kookaburra is an amazing find. A variety of hot or cold coffee and tea options. A showcase of pastries, bagels and other sweets too. It’s cash only. Average price for a solid cup of happiness, I’ll be back. The gents are super friendly and patient too — 5 stars for friendly service. Plus they have a loyalty card…

Excellent coffee. The place is small but quality. I come in the morning and the people working here are great and *always* on their game. There is nothing worse than a slow, incompetent barista when you’re in a hurry. They have a very calm and pleasant demeanor which is nice in the AM. It’s rare to find consistently wonderful staff like this. The couple minutes that I spend in here truly make my morning better. If there is a long line, don’t let it intimidate you because they’re quick and you’re in and out in no time. Weekday mornings it’s filled with LIRR commuters(thankfully I am not one) and happens to be in the most convenient location possible! Close to the train AND also super easy to get right back on Peninsula Blvd if you’re heading towards the Southern State like I am. I also always immediately find street parking in front or very close by which is a stand out for RVC. In the AM I think convenience is just as important as the actual coffee. Honestly, I don’t have a single complaint. Also, not expensive but cash only. If you utilize their coffee punch card, every 9th coffee is free which saves you ~11% ALSO, this place is not that annoying, hipster, pretentious crap that seems to permeate most non-corporate NY cafes/coffee shops. *phew* I’ve only had the coffee(which is perfect every time no matter who makes it), not the pastries/bagels/other breakfast items because somehow I can avoid the temptation but I would imagine it’s all on par with the coffee. I didn’t think I’d ever be one of those people that bought coffee every day but Kookaburra has totally changed my ways. How does DD survive a couple storefronts down???

Good, strong coffee, and the chai was yum! Had a sunflower flagel with cream cheese. Friendly and quick service. It is small inside and seating is tight, but I may stop in again if I drive by again

A must for LIRR commuters. Delicious coffee. Very friendly and great staff. Cool coffeehouse vibe. In and out in a matter of minutes which is huge to catch the train. But I’ve also walked in knowing it was coffee or missing the train and choose coffee. There’s a Dunkin Donuts right next door. Every time I leave here and pass the Dunkin I wonder if the customers in there know what they’re missing.

After passing this place a few times and saying: «That place looks cool», I finally stopped in one day about 4 months ago. Ever since then, my wife and I stop in about once every two weeks, if not more. This is what a local café should be. This area needs more places like this. The coffee is on point and the baked goods are delicious. Prices are perfect and they even have a card for a free coffee after a number of purchases. The staff is great and they keep things moving, even when the line is out the door. I wish they had a bigger space for more tables, it’d be a great place to sit and have a cappuccino. Definitely recommend.

This place is small but size is no matter. The only item I got to eat from here was a sesame seed bagel but damn this bagel was just awesome. The coffee I had was just a plain double milk, nothing out of the ordinary but it was a good brew. The bagel I loved but if I was hungrier those sunflower flagels looked tempting. The sesame seed bagel I had with cream cheese and we had it for the road. This bagel was great… where do they get them from? The cream cheese was what made it really good. It was so smooth as if it was melted cheese but not that soft. Everything looked good but I don’t really like pastries or cookies so I’ll probably never know. The line up here while we were there can get pretty long and there’s really not that much space inside for a long line. There’s not that much seating outside(2 tables?) and none inside because of the size of the place but still the coffee to me is above average, the bagels are great so they are better than that chain place a couple stores down which will remain nameless…

My favorite coffee shop on Long Island. Great coffee, great espresso, and they have almost always offered almond milk, a nice option that isn’t always found elsewhere. Good prices. Oh, and the muffins and granola bars are really good too! Heads up, cash only!
