Lavender Salon and Blow Out Bar

This review is mixed with one really bad experience for hair, and a great experience for nails, hence the three star rating.
1) hair– I went to Kelly rose for a color and cut. She kept me waiting 45 minutes after my appointment start time without letting me know she was running behind. At my start time she said she was finishing up in the next few min. 45 minutes later I was sitting in her chair. The hair color came out really uneven– orangish roots and dark brown ends. She said once it gets washed a few times it will be better. Well, a week later I spent 3.5 hours getting my color corrected by a competent person at another salon (lavish hair salon is great and they are open on Sundays).
2) nails– Nikki is great and has her own room for doing nails. I love that the hour is yours without people walking in and interrupting. She is very hygienic and gives you your file when you leave. You can show her a picture and she works her magic. Very happy with the nail design I got and quality of the work. I do wish she still did pedis so that I don’t have to go to two separate places, but the nails are great. Nikki has a Facebook page that has several pictures of nail designs that she has done (super sweet lavender nails).
3) décor– it is very chic. I particularly like the bathroom that has a Parisian vintage feel.
The salon has ample parking. I’ll return for nails. I did not see anyone walking out of the salon with hair that I would be happy with, despite them having good Unilocal reviews.

The cosmetologists and hair experts at this salon are all totally friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable. I enjoy the ambiance of this place as well as its décor. The front of house offers tons of cute jewelry and accessories as well. I’ve only been here for blow-​outs at the blow-​out bar, but I can’t wait to go back for a full cut and color soon.

After I left @janeth reitzell the first time I was thrilled… She had adjusted the groupon price to accommodate my hair length, which was fine and understandable… Little did I know that would actually be the way she does business. For example she told me she would honor her previous price, nope. Once I got there it was significantly more. She then supposedly came down in price but overcharged for a hair trim so she got what she had originally wanted. I referred a friend to her, there were in fact texts between them about this. But when my friend got there the situation again changed by trying to tell my friend that the price was for a different product/​service. Which meant she mislead me at first appt, telling me she was doing one service and then doing another. When I called her to again confirm my price, it was again different. But at least I knew in advance… I then called back and cancelled my spot… Will never refer any one again, let alone go back myself. Very very poor business practice.

Had a great experience getting my lashes done for the first time with Brittany. She did an amazing job and I love them. So glad that I found this gem of a place in Rocklin. Will def be back for lash fills :)

I had little success in finding a hair stylist where I live in Nevada. I was happy to find Kelly Rose at Lavender Salon near my hometown in CA. I have been going to Kelly for 2 years now. I look forward to seeing her on my visits so she can do her magic. Initially I received perms from her as my hair is so stubborn to work with. Talk about patience… she has it. On my recent visit, I decided to change it up by not having it permed but cut and styled. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and we discussed a couple of changes. I was extremely happy with my new cut and the different ways I can style it. Thank you Kelly for a job well done!!!
I love the atmosphere of the salon and the people there are so kind. They made me feel very comfortable. I browsed through their boutique and hair products and I purchased a gift for a friend as well as product for me. My experience as a whole was outstanding. Looking forward to my next hair appointment.

Stylists do a good job but this is such a noisy place. The music, grunge type rock station stuff, is turned up so loud, it is irritating. Combine it with blow dryers so people are constantly shouting. Tone it down folks, this is supposed to be relaxing.
Allure Salon, across the street in Rocklin, is much more peaceful and their styling chairs aren’t all jammed together.

The salon itself it adorable, with a variety of products and services to offer. But my actual review is for stylist Kendra Vincent. Kendra has cut and colored my hair, and I couldn’t be happier with both. Her skills and techniques are top-​notch, her care and attention to detail and client needs demonstrate that she is an expert stylist. I live in Vacaville, but I will continue to drive to Rocklin to see Kendra– she is that good!

Denny Eastwood was recommended to me while visiting the area for a family gathering. I have fine hair that had color damage and outgrown layers — he did beyond fantastic shaping and nurturing color work on my hair. I know it can take time to find a legit stylist so if you care about quality product, precision and style, he’s your guy. Reasonably priced. Highly recommend. Also — cute boutique shop included :)

I highly recommend Janeth Reitzell. I got highlights, cut and style using a groupon. She did an amazing job. I’ll be booking with her again in the future.

I love working here its great, clean, friendly and we use Kevin Murphy, plus there’s a boutique in the salon. We just had another education class using the Kevin Murphys products. I learned a lot and am excited to use the products.

I attempted to make an appointment via their online «Contact us» section because they were closed for the day on a Sunday evening. The appointment request was for two blow-​outs for a friend’s wedding over a month out. I received a response from the owner within minutes requesting that I call back after 10am on Tuesday to talk with the receptionist who has access to the schedules of the stylists. That seemed slightly out of the ordinary. If my business is wanted, wouldn’t you do some research on your end and get back to me instead of asking I reach out again?
I call as instructed; the receptionist was very sweet and said she would look into it. She called back the following day, left a message stating she was working on it but it was Memorial Weekend and they had limited stylists available but she would let me know either way. A few days later, I still hadn’t heard any news so I called to get an update. The receptionist remembered me and shared her apologies that they weren’t able to find anyone and couldn’t accommodate the appointments. Why did I need to call again to find this out? And a month out? I understand the fact that it was the Sunday before a holiday but I was surprised to hear that there weren’t any stylists willing to make it work.
I have heard great things about this salon but with this being my initial experience, I am a little apprehensive to try them out.

Wow. I just got Eyelash Extensions from Britney & Lindsay. Talk about an Amaze experience!
There customer service provides an wonderful experience. They were very helpful when I called to book the appt over the phone, answering all questions. When you walk in the door, they are very attentive.
This was my 1^st time getting eyelash extensions, and if was better than I imagined. No watery eyes, no stinkng glue. If I didn’t know, I really wouldn’t even know they were using glue. It was so relaxing that I nodded off a little bit.
I will definitely be back. These ladies are Amaze!

I’ve been going to Denny Eastwood for 5 years now and he does a superb job on my cut and color every time. He truly is a master stylist with a wealth of knowledge and experience with cut and color.
I lived in Roseville but had to relocate back to Elk Grove after my husband passed away and I still make the drive for Denny to cut and color my hair.
He spends close to 3 hours and gives me the most perfect blonde I could ever hope for. He is just as talented with his hair cutting abilities. Every little piece of hair is scrutinized and perfectly cut and styled into place.
On top of being extremely talented, he is possibly one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. He automatically puts you at ease and its like talking to one of your friends.
If you’re looking for a stylist call Lavendar Salon and ask for Denny Eastwood. You will definitely be impressed.

Stylist, Janeth Reitzell is wonderful. More than 20 year experience. Such a beautiful and modern place. They give you wine/​sodas/​juice for you to drink. It is a full salon with spa included (wax, massages, facials). The also sell clothes, jewelries, scarfs, etc. Such a neat and awesome place.
Janeth is available Tues through Saturday. Stays late on Tues & Thursday. She walso do Sunday’s if appt is set in advance.

I like every other female procrastinator on earth waited to make an appointment for my nails until the last minute. I called Lavender Salon and their nail Tech was booked solid. Of course she is, she is celebrity worthy. The receptionist took down my name and number and gave it to the nail tech, whose name is Nickie LaManna, told me she couldn’t guarantee anything but she’d at least try.
Two days later I received a text message from Nickie, because I missed her call. She was so kind to make an effort to schedule me for a cancellation she received. Oh I was in heaven!!! I took the day off of work just to make sure I could be there. Holy Moly was this the best thing that could have happened.
I pull up to Lavender, which is super easy to find, I walk n and I am warmly greeted by the same lady who helped me out over the phone. Of course I am a jerk and forgot her name. So, I sit and wait for only a moment taking in all that is Lavender. Beautiful stations, cute boutique, and adorable stylists.
I have to add a side note that I myself am a stylist and I scrutinize everything about a salon as my service is going down. Mainly cleanliness. I have NO complaints. Everything was spic and span!
Nickie comes to get me for my nails, I go back in her cute room and I already know I am in for a treat. Clean, neat, organized, and oh my gosh, GLITTER!
I was elated. Nickie not only treated me like I was a princess, she is the most dedicated, clean, sweet, caring nail tech you will ever find. She taught me things myself as a Cosmo, never knew! Gifted, talented, intelligent, and just all around adorable ?! I never want anyone to touch my hands and feet other than this woman. Anyone who gives up time on V-​day to make you feel like you’re the only one in their world, will always retain my business.
If you are getting your hair done and you want those toes and nails to match, book this woman. I know she’s going to blow up so fast.

Denny Eastwood just moved to Lavender — right down the street from his old spot. Best color and cut in town. Love my balayage highlights! This salon has a wonderful, friendly and relaxing ambiance and there is even a spa. Great place to up your beauty game!

I love getting a good blowout. And I just moved to Rocklin a few months ago, so I was excited to learn Lavender was a nearby option that came with pretty solid Unilocal and Facebook reviews.
I booked an appointment for 4:30p on Valentine’s Day. I was running a little late, but not by much, so I ended up rolling in at 4:37. I figured it was NBD; my hair isn’t crazy thick or anything, so we’d make up the time easily.
But they were SO weird about it – and it was pretty off-​putting, actually, as a first-​time customer. The receptionist was chatty and friendly, but I think it was the owner who was the most unprofessional. She was like, «well, your stylist has to leave for another job at 5:30 so … we’ll see. Maybe we can skip the hand massage and cut some corners and go really really fast.» All because of 7 minutes?
I mean, I’m a pretty reasonable person, and fine, the girl had to get to her second job. But … that didn’t really feel like my problem. I booked for 4:30 a week ago, and it seemed to be no problem at the time, and like, if there’s a scheduling conflict, that’s on your end — not mine, right? The other thing was, if we REALLY needed to rush, the stylist should have been with me ASAP, don’t you think? There was like, a 10-​minute window where I just sat in the front, feeling unwelcome, and a group was huddled up in the back, trying to figure out what to do. Awkward.
FINALLY (we could have been done shampooing by now), the stylist grabbed me and was like, «yeah, this is fine, we’ll just rush!» I stopped walking and offered to just cancel or come back another time. She insisted it was fine. It felt super lame. Don’t take appointments you can’t handle, you know? Find another stylist. Why is this an issue?
All of that said … the blowout itself turned out really nice. My hair looked amaz, it stayed in place the rest of the night, and I was happy with the stylist and my hair as the situation progressed. I guess I’m pumped I didn’t walk out.
Still … all that said, I was charged full price, I thought the owner could have handled it better and I’m reluctant to come back. There was a super cute boutique up front and (Kaylee?) was nice/​did great work. Still, I’m left with an unsavory feeling/​first impression. Value your clients. (Oh and we were totally done with time to spare). Whatever.
***To update, I stand by my review. It wasn’t 15 minutes. My overall impression is still pretty negative. And I offered to bounce at 5:30p, and my stylist insisted we finish up (we were done, it was just minor tweaks at that point). I appreciate the work of the stylist, she was great. Won’t be returning, sadly.

I just LOVE my lash extensions by Kelly Rose. She took her time to make sure everything was perfect. I really love not having to mess with so much make-​up every day and waking up ready to take on the day. They feel and look 100% natural and I’ve gotten tones of compliments from my friends and coworkers. My Unilocal app isn’t letting me post a pic but I’ll be adding my before and after pic I took very soon! Thank you so much Kelly for making me feel fabulous and glamorous!

I followed my hair stylist Denny to Lavender Salon. Denny is a great stylist, always creating beautiful hair color and a stylish cut.
I also take my kids to him for hair cuts, he is great with children.

Beautiful salon, great people and awesome nails! Nickie is the only one who is allowed to touch my nails anymore after past salons ruined them! She is a true advocate for healthy beautiful nails and even when acrylic is applied, my nails are not left as garbage underneath. She always has fresh ideas, the most reputable product and the best nail art in town
