Cool River Pizza

I usually don’t waste time posting about food, but a few weeks ago a couple of my friends and I met there for lunch. We ordered a large thin crust Cool Chicken Ranch pizza and family size salad. The young lady at the register was extremely helpful and the pizza was delicious. I like it so much, I’m hosting my book club meeting there this week. Keep up the good work.

I love getting my Hawaiian pizza here! I haven’t tried any other toppings. I read a review that said, Tasteless? Not the Hawaiian. My favorite pizza place. As for customer service, never had an issue. In fact, once I got there shortly before they we’re going to close but they didn’t mind making just one more pizza.

1^st time here, and picked this place because of all the awards they have posted on their website.
Award winning pizza, no way! Was extremely disappointed, barely had any product on the pizza! Reminded me of a very average Dominos pizza! Pizza did not look even close to what pictures they had on their website.
I usually never post reviews, but was so disappointed. I use to own a pizza parlor, so I must say, I’m qualified to review them. Won’t be back…

This place has good food they used to be my 100 pecent go to place for drinks and pizza but upped their prices on the selection of drinks especially the dust bowl ipa which is dissapointing because now i drive to elk grove opposite side if town for everything unfortunatly lost a customer after months

Had a tire blow out while driving on 65. Made it over to the tire shop (American tire) where I had to get two new tires. Wife and I needed a beer after that news. We walked over to cool river pizza where they had several beers on tap. Ordered a couple of reds and waited for the tires. The server then brought over some bread twists with sauce, said on the house hope day gets better. Very cool of the place to do that. The bread twists were great and the service even better. Thank you cool river, made the day better after the tire ordeal. Ps American tire was great and were out in under 45 min.

Good buttery crusted pizza. Would recommend to others wanting pizza and or beer. Small bar to sit at with a great beer selection Also.

Our first visit and we were really impressed. Place was clean and had an outdoor theme. Lots of pizza choices to cover everyone’s tastes. Pizza was really good. Not drenched in grease or salt. Fresh ingredients. We will be coming back!

I’ve only ever had the taco pizza with chicken but DAMN it’s tasty. The boyfriend and I have gone back twice so far just for it. It’s like all of the good things about Taco Bell and pizza mixed into one.

Great beer! Plus… I ordered a slice and about 10 minutes later I got a mini pizza because they were out. Clean place, friendly staff and 5 star experience

This was some great pizza. Visited from out of town. Crust was amazing. Fast delivery. The reason why I gave them 4 stars is because they were a little stingy on the sausage. Other than that, this was great pizza.

Okay, we attended a soccer trophy event for our little ones on ¹¹⁄₂₃ at about 5:00 pm.
We pre-​ordered our pizza (large combo) which came with «breadsticks» and a salad.
When we arrived the place seemed quaint. The service seemed okay at first. Kind, polite, accommodating. Not rushed.
Then when I asked how long the pizza takes to cook (to determine if we needed to wait a bit or start to cook it now) she said «3 to 5 mins». I was like «huh?, how?» anyway, it’s a conveyor belt type oven so that seem to make sense. Anyway, we got our salad and drinks and sat down.
Like I said, the place seemed cozy but upon further inspection the grime was deep. Some man arrived about ½ hour into the event, probably an owner or the owner, and was walking around tidying up. The bathrooms were not too clean. They were run down.
And now for the food review:
Salad: Meh. Ranch dressing on ours was just okay.
The bread sticks took about 10 to 15 mins. So much for 3 to 5 mins cooking things. And, it was served with ice cold sauce. Who in their right mind wants to dip warm bread, in this case a pizza crust with the quality of a frozen processed pizza, into ice cold sauce? Not me. So, I asked the person at the counter, while at least 2 other employees walked by empty handed just looking around not asking if they could help, if she could warm it up. She was puzzled but then said «sure, it’ll take about 4 mins or so». She never brought the sauce… oh wait! She did actually, it was cold, and about 15 mins later… AFTER we got our pizza. FAIL.
Pizza: FAIL. Like I said, it tasted slightly worse than a frozen processed pizza. The ingredients seemed fresh but the sauce and crust were junk.
Staff: kids. Three guys and two girls in the kitchen. They could care less about anything. One guy, I suppose the self-​proclaimed muscle man, walked into the walk-​in fridge and left the door wiiiiide open and never went back to close it. Someone closed it finally when they had to pass by it and couldn’t fit. These ppl could care less about anything and it’s reflected in their product.
The soda (Root Beer) was good.
Overall, I won’t be going back.
As a reference, I don’t think there are any REALLY good pizza places in this area. No I don’t like the «authentic» thin crust pizza joints that have the brick oven and charge 1.85 for rosemary or some other spice, and no I don’t like the greasy NY style. I DO however like the Zach’s Chicago style pizza in Berkeley. I think Chicago Fire is just okay, nothing to write home about. And, Siino’s Pizza in Lincoln (old Original Pete’s Pizza) is pretty good (⁷⁄₁₀)
Cool River Pizza = FAIL.

We meet here every month for our HOA meetings. The pizza is delicious and the staff is very friendly. Sometimes our meetings have gone past their closing time, and they are always accommodating and pleasant. Last week, I forgot my iPad here and I’d forgotten where I’d left it last. They kept it in their safe, and when I didn’t return in the first couple of days, they worked to locate me through my own Facebook in order to return it. Great place, I highly recommend it.

Very good pizza. We have friends who are regulars, so they always like to go here when we all go out! Casual, friendly place.

I ordered a pizza from here twice. The first time the pizza arrived quickly, it was hot and tasted great. The second time (today) the pizza took a while and when it arrived I opened the box and it looked as if the pizza had been thrown about in the car. It didn’t taste that great, it was hard the pepperonis were hard and the pizza itself tasted like cardboard. I’d recommend them because it tasted great the first time, but I guess expect our takeout to taste great because we pay for it, not knowing what you’ll get each time.

Cool river is our go to pizza place. I like them because they are local and they put more toppings on the the «chain pizza» places in the area which is important to me when you are ordering a veggie pizza. They have all sorts of specials depending on what day of the week you are their and are generally quick. There are several large TV’s in the place if you want to catch the game while you enjoy cold beer.

Service was good.
Took 50 minutes delivery and its Monday. Id hate to order on a Friday or Saturday!
Most tasteless pizza ever. Got the xl gorge, decent amount of toppings but it just lacked flavor. The crust was good.
Wings meaty but they forgot the ranch! Ahg!

Was in the mood for some good pizza and decided to try Cool River due to a recommendation. Holy cow the service was spectacular and the pizza was better than expected. If it wasn’t so far from my house I’d be visiting a lot more. Definitely will be coming back. Thanks guys!!!

Good customer service is really hard to find these days, thankfully it can be found here (along with great pizza)! Roughly a month ago we ordered a pizza for take out and found that it was totally incorrect when we arrived home. We called to let them know and they offered a free pizza at our next visit. Well we just called in that order and there was no record of that transaction or note for the comp… they honored it anyways!
Great people, great service, and great pizza!

Several locations that aren’t connected to another. Nestled in a shopping center towards the corner back. One can find coupons and specials through the entertainment book or local event flyers.
Staff is friendly to greet and help. I have visited a few times. My orders vary from the house specials. Always come at reasonable time. Hot and fresh.
Pizzas are cooked through. Flavors are savory with the combinations. They work. Usually have leftovers. Most of the combinations work and hold. Only exception that may be suspect is the ones with lettuce.
Good: flavor Fresh varieties, service.
Bad: nothing to date.
I am a return eater.

I visted the location on Cirby many years ago and I loved it. They had one open in Folsom for about 10 seconds that closed before I could visit. So I was very happy when we had a work catered event today and Cool River was the guest of honor. The crust is a thinner but has a very pleasing garlic and butter taste. The «Delta Lua» toppings were plentiful (bacon, pineapple and ham) and the red sauce had a nice flavor. This is just good solid pizza.
