First off, Phở Sizzle has moved into a non-wheeled establishment on 10 Leland St. in Rockland. They now have a dine-in area. Was very excited to hear that a Phở place was in the area, but very disappointed after our visit. Place: The floors and tables are a little sticky. My wife said her eyes were burning because of some kind of chili sauce fumes in the air(turn the fan to high). They put all of the«fix’ns» for the Phở and other dishes in these strange containers(some glass, some SS) on a tray and move them around to the tables – not to code in the least bit(health hazard). Every other Phở place I have visited you get your own plate of sprouts, basil leaves, etc. Please adjust accordingly, Food: I’m not going to go overboard here… I’ve been to Phở places on both coasts(used to live in L.A. – check out Westminster if you want the real deal). This is not the real deal. We had the chicken Phở, garlic shrimp noodle bowl and tofu spring rolls. Phở was tasteless(could not even taste the broth). Chicken was overdone. And, the portion was small(and no basil leaves – yikes!). The garlic shrimp were the best part of the meal, but again; portion small, and the noddles and cabbage(was that really cabbage???) were tasteless. Tofu spring rolls were minuscule and tofu was crunchy inside. I don’t understand the good reviews below, but maybe the food changed on the move off-truck? Service: Our service was erratic at best with our waitress having only three tables… and here is how you say Phở( ), not with a hard o??? With a few changes this place could improve by leaps: say Phở right, portions larger, follow health codes, turn the fan up, clean better, and well adjust recipes so they are more like regular Phở places everywhere else in the country; that’s about it.

Great food. Great flavor. Wow — a CLEAN food truck. Not the #1 reason to choose, but good to know so I’m happy to pass that observation along. now moving on… Food was great, very fresh, very flavorful. This from 2 people who don’t know Vietnamese food and this was our first try… pleasantly surprised. . Very friendly, helpful owner who offers guidance on what seasonings to add. Beautiful spot on the harbor right next to Duo’s. Picnic tables, benches, large stone blocks. I’m in the area every week — will be back. Cash only.

This is our second summer vaca in Rockland and were excited to try after spotting the stand while biking around the harbor. We tried a beef phở, chicken phở, seared beef vermicelli, and a pork belly over rice for my selectively carnivorous 10 year old son. Everything was fresh and delish! The phở was complete with all the traditional fixin options. Portions are plenty generous. We enjoyed our meals on a picnic table overlooking the harbor under a beautiful sun and gentle breeze. This is the first season but we hope to see Phở Sizzle each summer we make it back to Rockland! BTW, Unilocal map doesn’t show correct location. Stand is at Buoy Park on Rockland Harbor, not in the country side as Unilocal locates it.

I’m not sure if I have the right Vietnamese truck in Rockland. But we stopped at the middle pier and there was a seafood truck and the Vietnamese one. We ordered three shrimp noodle bowls $ 8.00 each and three spring rolls $ 2.00 each. The owner was really nice. The bowls were yummy, large shrimp and the serving size was plenty for lunch. The spring rolls were ok– they had cilantro in them which we personally do not like. Overall it was a beautiful day out to enjoy lunch with an ocean view. I would eat there again.

First of all the owner Tom Pham is very friendly and I would love to be able to give him a more positive review but the best part of the meal was looking at the menu and ordering. I ordered 2 large Phở Beef Noodles, 2 shrimp spring rolls and a fresh halibut platter with rice and sauce. Phở Noodles — The«large» Phở at a price of $ 10 is slightly higher than real restaurants however the portion is about ¼ of what normal restaurants serve. There is not enough broth and the beef was so chewy it was barely edible; in fact we had to throw most of it away. Shrimp Springrolls — These were the best part of the meal however they were still not as good as a real restaurant would serve. In addition the price was DOUBLE what a real restaurant charges. Halibut platter — The fresh grilled halibut was«ok» but it was drowned in too much fish sauce. All in all the experience was not the worst but I would definitely not recommend ever trying the food truck. The value was poor and the food quality was below par. Rockland is a tourist trap so I am sure many more tourists will keep coming but as for locals if they keep coming back it is only because they do not know what a decent Phở restaurant should taste like!!!
