Marie’s Pizza

Overcharged $ 1, got wrong item, eh!
I ordered the Italian Beef with cheese ($ 4.70 & $ 1.25), Onion Rings ($ 2.60) and a can of pop ($ 1). I got the Fried Mushrooms instead ($ 2.90). Tax included, it should have been $ 9.85, but she charged me $ 10.85. No receipt offered.
The mushrooms appeared to be frozen and deep fried, and were just ok.
The Italian Beef was again «ok», at best. Fair sized bun, with lots of beef on one end, virtually none on the other end, overall a bit skimpy. Good amount of stringy cheese. Good, not great. I asked for it «extra juicy», it came out dry, but with a side container of juice. I could have used two.
She quoted 20 minutes, and I think it was most of that time, a bit long for putting meat on bread and melting some cheese.
They offer a variety of pastas and sandwiches, along with pizza. I’ll try something different if I go back.
Napoli’s still outshines everyone else in town on Italian Beef. The same meal with fries (LOTS more meat, LOTS of fries) is $ 7.00 there.
Strange hours, does not open until 3pm. Take-​out and Delivery ONLY, no inside dining.

Was looking forward to having a new pizza place but first impressions mean everything. My wings were awesome! As for the pizza? Burnt… sorry guys I won’t be returning. Kinda bummed about this one.

Good pizza if you don’t mind Hair mixed into the crust! Called talked to the Manager. He started screaming at me and said if I call back he’d call the police! So. I called the police. The officer. Had to convince him to refund my money! Crazy! I’ll never order from them again! Couldn’t believe the threats or the way he thinks he can talk to the police let alone the Customer’s! Totally unnecessary and abusive!

Just passing through and wanted some easy food. Good pizza. Sauce is very tasty and there was a huge pile of delicious cheese on top. In my opinion, There should never be less cheese on any pizza ever. It is just delivery or take away but worth a bite for sure.

Best pizza delivery for downtown Rockford hands down. Flavorful sauce. Seasoning on the cheese. Chewy and perfectly crisp crust. Don’t forget to order the house special salad, the fresh Mozzarella is enough to sell it. Sandwiches are huge and delicious as well.

Picked up a pizza here the other day and it was luke warm, I had to throw it in my oven to heat it up a bit. I was disappointed in the lack of toppings that I got and I felt as if I was cheated out of cheese.
I paid over $ 20 for a large pizza with two toppings I should have got a better quality pie.

Love the food. Pizza is just how it should. I just wish was open for lunch I know everyone at the hospital does.

Was in Rockford for an event this past weekend, and we needed to order some pizzas for the family. We decided on Marie’s based on the Unilocal reviews. Ordered two cheese pizzas, one sausage pizza, and one supreme for carry out. Pizzas were delicious… some of the best I’ve ever had. If you like mounds of fresh ingredients, a lot of cheese, and a pizza that is very filling I highly recommend Marie’s. I will definitely order from there again if I ever have a need for pizza in Rockford. And, I was pleasently surprised at the price as well. Great pizza and friendly staff!

Pizza. Have only had the pizza. Good. A nice option in the area. Would be willing to drive for it. Prices are fine.

Meatball sandwich. You will thank me later. Add some cheese and don’t forget the grilled onions. Wow!!! The meat flavor is something to be appreciated here. This is my go to dish that I dream about when I am attempting to be a healthy person. I have never had a meatball with such flavor.
The cheese tortellini is a solid pasta dish. Perfect amount of sauce and the pasta was cooked perfectly.
Lasagna dish is dynamite. Yet again it comes back to the meat and cheese combination that is out of this world.
The pizza is a solid choice for Rockford pizza. Unfortunately I have not indulged in it as much as some of the sandwiches and pastas, so I can’t give as much of a review on it.
If you are in the mood for a great hot sandwich or pasta, look no further than. You will not be disappointed. Plus they deliver for those lazy nights in.

I love this place. Their pizza is fantastic, but beyond that it’s their Lasagna that’s fantastic. I’ve ordered take out and delivery from them for over 8 years and have never had a problem. In fact we’ve had friends at our house and have decided to order food here. I recommended the Lasagna, many of them ordered it. The next time they came over they wanted to get it again.
They do deliver and that is great if it’s late night or you just don’t feel like driving.
Generally they are very good with the service. I have only had one issue and the manager resolved it.

Pretty good pizza and a very reasonable price. We had our delivered and it was still hot and steamy. Yummy sauce. Can’t complain here. Well worth the $ 14 for family size cheese, sausage and mushroom. Taylor Street was my favorite, however, has been slipping in quality a lot. This is now my first choice for delivery. :)

For being the only place I can ever drunkenly find as able to deliver late on a Thursday night, I’d say this place makes a pretty decent pie. Delicious sauce, healthy amounts of meats, decent crust — it is definitely a pizza I don’t feel guilty about ordering three Thursday nights in a row.

Rockford, IL seems to have a LOT of pizza places from which to choose. The large franchise places are here, but there are even more «mom and pop» places who make the franchise places look bad by serving a very high-​quality product. With so many pizza places here, one could easily have trouble picking a place from which to get a pizza, as most places serve a great pie. Some have a great thin crust, some are dirt cheap in price, some have a great thick crust, some have a great stuffed pizza; but few seem to have all of the above under one roof.
For over a decade, Marie’s Pizza has had some of the best pizza in town, hands down. Whether one orders their great thin crust, double crust, thick crust, or stuffed pies, one will not go wrong with eating here. This family-​run pizza place has a tasty red sauce they make in-​house, with hints of onion and garlic supporting the ripe tomatoes. They also sell a few different red-​sauce and Sicillian’ish entres and sandwiches, but they seem to mostly sell a lot of pizzas, and for good reason! The pizza’s crusts are cooked perfectly while not being too greasy like many other pizza places’ pizzas can be. Cheese is not overbearing, but is adequate in quantity, as are the toppings used.
Carry out and delivery are the only ways to get their food, and they are open until late daily. The shop is accessed off of 12^th Street from Charles Street due to Charles Street’s realignment a few years ago and is easy to get to from Swedish American Hospital or on the way heading east out of downtown Rockford. Although not well-​known by many in town (or easily confused with a similarly-​named well-​known south-​west-​side eatery with much-​lessor quality pizzas), you are missing a real treat if you miss this neighborhood pizza staple!
