Great food and even better service. Just got home with my pickup order and the food is great. There was a bit of a mixup in the pickup order and I ended up getting a different order with a lot more food, and they called to let me know and to tell me to go ahead and keep the extra food and hoped I enjoyed it. I have dealt with several rude restaurants in Rockford where they get mad at you for their mistakes, but Lung Fung was amazing! Will definitely go back!

The egg drop soup, is horrible. The food made me sick. I will never eat here again, yuck! I’ll give it 2 stars because the staff is really friendly and the place is clean.

I’ve never been a fan of Chinese food, but my family is! Something about this place has me hooked! We love the food here and the fact that they deliver is a plus.

Easily one of the worst oriental food ice had in rockford. The vegetable fried rice was bathed in soy sauce and way too salty, the tofu Cantonese noodles were like they dropped the frozen noodles in the pan with over sized tofu squares and the chow men was the most bland I’ve ever had. The combination chow mein was bland, mostly chicken, 2 pieces of shrimp. A waste of $ 30. Bathing this meal in sriarcha didn’t improve the lack of flavor either.

Long time fan ghe food is great. The trouble I have is Friday my daughter and I went and sat down to eat instead of just going home to eat. The table was unwashed, it took 20 for us to place our order and the we never got more then water. I watch many people have the same trouble. Again food great. But will be taking it home from now on.

My family and I really enjoy ordering from lung fung when my mother doesn’t feel like cooking. Everytime we call they answer right away and take our orders. Everytime it’s also a 20 min wait which isn’t long seeing as a meal for a family of 4 is being cooked fresh. Or I guess their cooking it fresh during the wait time. Idk. When I get their the food is usually waiting at the counter ready to go and I’m in and out in a matter of minutes. The price is decent for the quantity and it’s very fulling. Not once since we’ve been ordering from them have they raised the price or messed up our order which I greatly appreciate. Employees are also very friendly. Thank you for you service lung fung.

The only good thing about this place they will deliver anywhere in town & the egg rolls are cooked in peanut oil they were quite tasty… The combination fried rice is a whole different story it had chucks of onions in it I did request no pork that request was granted but it lacked shrimp & chicken & I actually thought it came with beef the rice was very dry… I should have paid attention to the reviews… Well a lesson learned unfortunately this lesson was $ 16…

Not a bad little place. Just nothing great about it. Food is ok. Service was ok. Was hoping my experience would be better than some of the ones I read. I Don’t think I would return here.

As I am part Asian Mix myself — I am a PICKY Chinese Food — Foodie! I searched high and low in Rockford and when I lived near Belvidere. This is THEBEST — Chinese Food Restaurant in Winnebago and Boone Counties! It is locally owned and a «family type» business. I have had the BEST Chinese food — so I am not saying they are the FINEST. But in this AREA — I find most Chinese Food Places Americanize their food — soak meats in tenderizers, MSG things to death… this is the best locally you are going to get. It is not frills with the décor — but it is clean — hospitable — and good food! I recommend them personally, because I have tried and failed over and over here in Rockford! Try them out! Enjoy!!! * * * * Stars

DONOTGOTHEREIFYOUPLANTOEAT! The last three times I have not received my order while others have. Today was the worst yet. I have not gone there in a year because of my past experience but today a co-worker suggested I give them another chance. There were fours of us and the restaurant was empty when we arrived. We placed our orders and received our drinks and egg drop soup. Then three more tables were sat down. One person at our table was served and then the other three tables received their food. One of the orders at our table was four egg rolls. She did not receive hers while the co-worker who did, had an egg roll as part of her lunch. 45 minutes later we still were waiting and our fourth who did receive her food, finished hers. We informed the server when she came by that we were cancelling our order and as we were leaving we were handed a bag to go. When I informed the manager or owner that this was my third time, he did not look at me and continued to work away on the cash register. He said sorry but while he continued to do other things. Nothing more. Horrible experience! I will not give them a fourth chance! Unbelievable!!!

Lung Fung has lost it’s touch. Most of my «chicken» was deep fried breading containing no chicken what so ever. This has been happening for the past few visits. I regret to inform, but this will be my last trip here.

I went there for the first time last week after cleaning up yet another one of my roommates«Lung Fung Chinese» garbage mounds that I found piling up in the kitchen. I wasn’t expecting much because of it’s Americanized feel, but the food was pretty awesome. They need to work on their service quite a bit though. If you’re going to try one of their smoothies, I’d go for kiwi or mango. I’ve tried them all except for watermelon. I’ve ordered to go atleast 3 times since last week already. Yum.

Really nice inside, and situated on a pretty nice corner in downtown Rockford. The food is on par with most Chinese places, but isn’t exactly anything that you’ll remember afterward. At least it’s moderately priced. I had the egg drop soup, which was a little too thick for my liking. It felt like I was eating an egg that had been cracked open into the bowl and then warmed. The sesame chicken was much like any other sesame chicken I’ve had anywhere. Again, good, but not memorable or noteworthy. Lastly, my egg roll was honestly not very good. I’ve rarely met an egg roll that I didn’t like, so this is significant. Our waitress seemed to forget about us for a while, but was very apologetic and took 10% off of our ticket, which was nice. In all, a fine meal that didn’t leave me with a strong desire to visit again.

Holy depression batman, maybe its just the general area but this place is very unimpressive. One of the few times Unilocal led me right into the den of wolves. The food itself was actually decent, I mean for Americanized Chinese food it is what it is and was good enough. But there’s a few things that get to you, for one, the place is absolutely empty at dinner time, and there’s an annexed area which the owner’s children play in and the sounds of the children echo through the empty dining area — little creepy. They also have the AC cranking like there’s a heat wave going on even though its 60 degrees out. Oh, and back off on the salt please.

Lung Fung sits at an intersection with not much activity; wonder how it ever gets business… Anyway, it looks like an Americanized Chinese restaurant, but in the back of the house you can hear Chinese pop music playing and the owner’s young son running around speaking mandarin. I would say this is a typical family run business. The décor is modern with the typical zodiac placemats. Menu is abound with various dishes, and if you look closely at the pictures, the dishes look pretty authentic. I’m on a veg diet, so I decided to try their vegetarian options. I ordered their Moo Shoo Pork and asked that they hold back the pork; they were happy to do it. The dish comes with 4 pancakes. Not bad, just a little sweet for my taste and I think they put something in there that may have been meat-like. Next was the Kung Pao tofu. Not enough«Pao» if you asked me, but I would have probably enjoyed it better if they made the tofu cubes smaller and called it Ma Po Tofu. You have the option choosing white rice or fried rice, but must ask for brown rice, although I don’t think it is real brown rice; more like brown-colored rice. I was a little hesitant to try Chinese food in Rockford, and am glad I did, because now I don’t have to expect too much.

If you want chineese food in Rockford you come to Lung Fung. I used to champion Bamboo but after Lung Fung I forgot all about Bamboo. I had the mongolian beef and wow… yes.

*Based on bubble tea/smoothie drink only* If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. They probably put 1⁄8 cup of fruit and added 3 cups of ice and sugar to fill the cup. Disgusting!!! This was the case with 3 different flavors therefore, I assume that’s how all of the drinks are. It was like drinking colored ice water. NEVERAGAIN!

This Chinese restaurant might be acceptable for Rockford. At least all the different dishes aren’t cooked in the same sauce. «Spicy» on the menu doesn’t really mean spicy. The«roast pork with chinese vegetables» is not too bad — it tastes like slightly overcooked char-siu(Chinese bbq pork). The Singapore noodles are good, not too salty, and not drowning in sauce. In fact, non of the dishes came drowning in sauce, which I feel is a problem with Americanized Chinese food. The Lung Fung Chicken(a «chef speciality») was truly an oddity — ham wrapped in chicken wrapped in thick breading and butter and deep fried. I still haven’t decided what I think of it. Overall, the food here is not too offensive.(Although I hear that the tofu, which I was too scared to order, is absolutely foul.) I don’t know if I’m likely to go back here again though.

I’m kinda picky about Chinese food. I’m the one who tells the person who orders General Tso’s Chicken, «That’s not real Chinese, foo!» So I’ve spent years trying to find an appropriate Chinese place in Rockford, the land of Happy Woks. I finally find one, and then I have to move. Of course. Shoving the self-pity aside, Lung Fung is simply the best Chinese you’ll get in Rockford. Hands down. It’s the real thing. Opened several years ago, but since then it has severed ties with the Lung Fung in Belvidere, but has maintained the quality of the original restaurant. Make sure you try the chow fun and the Chinese broccoli. Yummy. And for $ 5 lunch specials, you sure cannot go wrong.
