Very nice dinner. My husband had the fried cod and I had the wrap. Very delicious and reasonably priced. Our server was delightful and attentive.

My wife, son and I met my brother nearby so we stopped in on a Friday night around 6:00pm. Place was busy. We found a table in the bar area. Decided to eat while having drinks. My wife and brother ordered the baked cod and I had the fried cod. My fried cod was good. Nothing to complain about. Came with choice of potato or pasta. I chose au gratin potatos thrown under the broiler to brown them. They came out cream colored-were never browned. They tasted as if someone had dumped way too much onion powder in them. Couldn’t find the physical onion itself but sure tasted onion powder. No bread, butter or cole slaw-which are usually standard in fish fries around here. The baked my wife and brother had was unedible. The portion size was great. Roughly two inches wide by 8 inches long, but instead of being a wonderful cod loin it was compressed cod. Pieces of cod squeezed together to form a loin. There was a film/coating that surrounded the outside of the piece that made it hold its shape. Nasty. The drawn butter smelled burnt-as if they hadn’t removed all the milk solids from the butter and they had been overheated. They both ordered fries and the standard crinkle cut potato came with their meal. They have three of the Illinois Lottery Slot Machines in the bar dining room should you want to attempt to win some money to pay for your dinner. The place seems to always draw a decent crowd but with fish like that they will scare everyone away. Hopefully is was just a bad visit and things will be better next time.

My husband and I ate dinner here tonight and sadly we were really disappointed. We have eaten here twice before and always had a good experience. Tonight, the wait time for our food and drink was unnecessarily long. The poor waitress we had was covering a ton of tables and seemed over worked. My husband ordered a calzone and said it was«okay» but definitely not worth going out to eat for. I ordered the crispy chicken wrap and it was so awful! The chicken was so dry and flavorless. I ordered a side of ranch to make it palatable and that was awful too. It is unfortunate as we were hoping for a nice night out.

This review is a long time in the writing. I was there a couple of months ago. I went here with someone. I had been meaning to try it and we decided to here. We walked in and were dressed I would think more casual than they would have liked. Think biker chic(Pronounced like sheek not as in the girl). We were sat in the bar area, and we were okay with that. I ordered the Veal Parmigiano. OHMYHECK! I thought it was really good, not the greatest I’ve ever had, but one of the better in the last couple of years. The veal was tender and flavorful. The pasta was cooked superbly. I really enjoyed it. I’d recommend giving it a try if you go there. I can’t remember what my companion ordered. What I do remember is that it was made with a wine sauce, and something I ought not to eat. She did seem to like it. The waitress we had was nice and attentive. We never had to wait long for anything and the food came out in a timely manner. I will be back. The reason it took me so long to write it was because of the initial reaction of the hostess when we walked in. Just because we’re dressed all biker doesn’t mean we don’t enjoy good food. Getting treated that way does cause me to get a little surly. So I waited until I could actually evaluate the restaurant on all the other aspects and move past the initial snobbery.

The staff and atmosphere was nice, bread and salad was okay. My husband ordered a seafood platter which you could tell was all frozen and was quite awful. The breading fell off the fish and the other seafood was rubbery! The spinach side — awful! I ordered the chicken Alfredo — to the person who says best Alfredo in town. I really hope you don’t have taste buds… You can only really taste oil! Plus the meatballs are gooey! All In all I give it a 1⁄5 ! The only reason why I give it. 1 was on Wednesdays you get a free bottle of wine with a purchase of two entrée’s!

This place has really gone downhill. The calamari was ok, except that part of it wasn’t cooked all the way through. They had a Taco Tuesday, which is very weird for an Italian restaurant. The chicken tacos had no seasoning at all and were very bland. The beef tacos were just ground beef that was over cooked and very salty. Tasted like the taco seasoning you get out of those envelopes. The special salad was anything but. Over cooked hard pieces of salami. We asked the waitress if Bernie was still there, but we knew by the food that he wasn’t. She said he retired recently. Too bad. We will not be back to eat at Joey C’s

Hmmm. I wanted to like it — the décor is good, but it’s a bit confused. Video games/sports bar but then classy lighting and wall fixtures. The food — started well, lovely bread/dip — then went very dull. Mussels and ahi tuna tasted of nothing, frozen or something, slimy bed of crazy chilli noodles and salty crust on the tuna. Dessert was cake — again didn’t taste like it was made on site. Bland food, patchy service, they need to get their act together soon. It could be nice if they narrowed the menu, got fresh produce and stuck to Italian.

Friendly service, great décor, and prefectly made drinks. I suggest the house shot«Bacon & Cheddar» — trust me.

We’d go again! Four of us dined on Saturday March 3rd. The restaurant was clean, nicely decorated, and busy at 6pm. Actually pretty well packed. We had a glass of wine while looking over the menu. A good selection, and decent prices. Two of us had meat ravioli, my wife had the whole wheat spaghetti, and one of us, the fried catfish. Salads were fresh and nicely sized. The fish was tasty, but only one large piece. The ravioli were very good, but there could have been one more on the plate, and I’m not a big appetite. The whole wheat spaghetti was very good, and a good amount without being wasteful. The dessert selection was so so. A couple cheesecake choices, a CHOCOLATE cake and Italian cookies. Our friends shared the cake, and we shared the three little cookies on a big plate. That was my only ‘complaint’ along with the wait staff being adequate, but not excellent. Our bill was $ 35.00& our friends was similar. We would go back again… We did meet the owner, as he wandered around. He was pleasant, sincere, and welcoming. That made an impression… Go, and enjoy!

Stopped by for Sunday lunch frankly not expecting much. I was mistaken! Cozy small family run place, excellent service and way better quality food than the average. To be fair I just had the burger special and my wife had the antipasti salad, but they were both excellent examples of what the items should be. Nothing fancy, just well prepared. and they bake their bread on premises fresh. Definitely going back soon to see how they do Italian.

Update(2÷27÷12): Sadly, I have to take a star off. Not because of the food, but for the take-away service. Quite simply, these guys screw up my takeout order at least 50 percent of the time. To be honest, it is probably closer to 90 percent, I am not embellishing. It is so bad, I have gotten to the point of opening and checking all the food. They are totally unable to ever include things like a container of blue cheese for the buffalo wings. They just forget something every single time. I am not a picky person, nor do I like to complain. I understand that forgetting something like a side doesn’t seem like a big deal, and it isn’t. However, it happens every time. Last night, I forgot to check the food and I end up with a Sausage and Mushroom pizza. That is not what I ordered. Oh and yet again no side of blue cheese. What are wings without a side of blue cheese? At least they put the sauce on the wings. Sometimes, you will be given a container of fried chicken wings with buffalo sauce on the side. I specifically ask for the sauce to be on the wings now, and often it is still a mistake. Again, a miscommunication problem. I believe they are taking«side of blue cheese dressing» and turning it into«sauce on the side» in the kitchen. Did I mention that I checked my receipt and pointed it out specifically on the counter. I said«this is mine». The hostess confirmed what I ordered. ALSO, ITWASTHEONLYTAKEOUTRECIPTONTHECOUNTER!(at least from what I saw). I called them up to complain and told them«I love your food, but you mess up my order over and over again». They did not offer anything to make it up(they have given me small gift certificates before). This time nothing. The previous order I made, I get handed my pizza but not the salad I ordered. I am not sure how that can be forgotten. I do not know what the problem is, but I think a lack of communication exists. They need to get a computerized system or something, as it is unacceptable to mess up take out after take out. I know I am not the only one this is happening to, they mess up the order far too often. The most frustrating thing is the issue has gotten worse if anything. Is it really that hard to check the take out before you give it to the customer? Why should I have to check to make sure I have the proper food? That is your job. I worked in a restaurant for awhile, mistakes happen sometimes. But when your take out is far more likely to be the wrong frickin order then the right one then that is a problem. So the food is great, the workers are nice, but something has to change when it comes to take outs. I honestly have no idea how they can mess up every single order I make. I am going to have to start looking elsewhere when I order out, especially when I am ordering for myself and other people. Picking up food should not be a guessing game. — — — - The place is very very good. I did not like Angelo’s all that much, but I always LOVED Café Greco. The«Sicilian» Pizzas are great. I really like the Quattro Formaggi and the ZaZa. Of course you cannot go wrong with the«Steak Sinatra»… your heart will not be pleased but your stomach will be. I have yet to try the Grouper, but I could see that being very good. Prices are reasonable. Service is very good as well. They gave me a gift certificate when they made a small mistake on the order. The servers are friendly, helpful and down to earth. The bar is nice and always has sports on the televisions. Great place to eat in or carry out. It is in the Mulford Square shopping area(which is where Nippons started years ago). Bernie is the man! I didn’t like GiGi’s(now closed I believe) but Joey Cs brings back that Café Greco flavor that Rockford knows well. People always talk about how Rockford is «full of chains» but that can not be further from the truth. Quite a few places in the area easily match up to anything Chicago produces(often at half the cost).

The calamari was chewy and okay. I have had better at Olive Garden. The entrees were also okay but the worst was when we were wating for our check, a COCKROACH ran across our table. I smashed it and it was decided we would never eat there again. We showed the cockroach’s carcass to the waitress and hostess and they profusely apologized… but the damage was done. We were all grossed out and left our take home leftover containers on the table. Yuck, yuck, yuck.

My parents live down the street from Angelo’s, and over the years it has become one of their favorite spots in Rockford. It’s simple and unassuming — the sort of place where over time you come to know not just your favorite server but the owners and their family as well. The food isn’t the best Italian you’ll ever have, but it’s totally adequate for a quick dinner in the neighborhood.

It’s a rather small restaurant, but they do take reservations. My wife and I had the spinach artichoke dip for appetizers– the crostini that came with it was really good. I think its the first time I’ve seen a meatball calzone on a menu. It was good and big(I had leftovers). My wife enjoyed a really cheesy Cajun chicken fettuccine(plenty of leftovers too). The selection of beer on tap was a bit disappointing. Prices were on par with other Italian restaurants.

Best alfredo sauce in town. Seating and layout is limited and strange, but the interior is relaxing and dimly lit. Pretty standard Italian cuisine done well.
