The three disc golf courses at Anna Page have been on my to-do list for awhile, and today I found out just what I’d been missing. With junior in tow we took a crack at the West Side course which features much longer, tougher fairways than the East and South courses. I didn’t take note of all the fairways but just as an example, hole #10 is 600ft and hole #12 is 564ft. There’s a whole lot of distance here and it’s tough to attain most holes in 3 shots. Overall I loved the course. In addition to the distance on each hole are your standard tree’s and bushes to knock down shots. This course is a monster but it would be fun trying to master it. Be sure to leave yourself a good deal of time to walk it. Can’t wait to get back here to try the East and South courses. Cheers.

Illinois’ first 36 hole course. You have an option of choosing a more open course or the wooded course. Open: Lots of old trees here that cater to beginners. Large landing areas from the tee boxes. In general, a fairly large park that will tucker you out. Pretty flat for the most part with gradual increases of elevation. Good drainage. Heads up for horse riders that swing by here randomly. Wooded: Very difficult for a first timer, but the learning curve is about 4 holes or so. On this course you get a chance to be closer to the towering trees. You’ll also get a chance to beat the shit out of your discs as well, but that’s the risk you take. Well designed to get people closer to the trees and make ‘em pissed off. Both: No water hazards, just lots of insects. You may lose discs if you’re not paying attention, or if they get stuck in a tree. Aside from that, your bag should remain pretty much full. Replay: High
