Nice, very reasonably priced lunch. Casual outside dining by the river. Service was a very nice young man. We’ll be back.

Delicious HOMEMADE meals! Fresh made garlic butter with delectable rolls. Soups are homemade with love. Small, comfortable atmosphere with personalized service! Super reasonable prices for a full meal! A Diamond in the Rough. Don’t miss out! AND it’s BYOB!

One of my groupon finds. Stopped in during the week before Christmas before heading out to shop. The menu is surprisingly extensive and it’s a quaint byob. The food was very good-but and everyone we met was very friendly. But be prepared — the service was very slow. I’d recommend going on a weekend when you’re not in a rush with friends you enjoy spending time with over a couple bottles of wine. We will be back.

I eat at Potbelly’s fairly frequently, more often than not taking my food to go, but I always have wonderful service. The owner always takes his time to greet me, always polite and thoughtful. Tonight was the first time I have had the blackened salmon BLT. The bread was flavorful and wonderfully soft. The blackened salmon had a nice bite to spice wise and the bacon was nice and crispy. I had a salad for the side with their house dressing which is a great, not too sweet with the right amount of tang to it.

I love the variety of food that this restaurant has. It goes from soups and salads, to filling seafood and meat. It has every food for every age and every range of food choices. I recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. It is one of my favorites and I try to go there at least once a week, or whenever i’m in the area, to try to try it all !

My wife and I ordered a couple Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese sandwiches from here this past Saturday morning while waiting on the Toys for Tots train. Very good and they don’t skimp on the Taylor Ham! I only saw them offered on a roll tho(no bagel, which I prefer). While we were waiting, someone was served an omelet with taters and the omelet was huge and a nice portion of taters as well. We will definitely be back for a regular breakfast. It looks like a small restaurant nestled by the train tracks and had an «everybody knows your name» quality about the place. Very cozy and also offered outdoor table seating.

We found Potbelly’s on Groupon. What a delicious treat. We had a salad and potato soup too start. Soup was very good not salty like some potato soup tends too be. My partner had the lamb chops. He said they were cooked perfectly and the presentation was beautiful. That always makes a difference too me. I had the chicken Cordon Bleu it was wonderful. Two large pieces of chicken with ham Swiss cheese and and a bechamel sauce that was delicious. Portions were large and they go the extra mile too make the plate look nice with piping the mashed potatoes on the plate too the garnishes. Everyone is friendly and waitress was attentive. We will be returning try it you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Nice spot along the train tracks. We came here to see the Toys for Tots train today. We ordered a Taylor ham, egg and cheese sandwich. It was delicious. Nice hot coffee too.

Potbelly is one of my breakfast haunts, weekend are the best time to go. Sandwiches are good. Dinner is not their strong suit, only tried it for dinner after Super storm Sandy… the food got cold waiting to be served as the«wait staff» were more interested in their smart phones.

The soup are always great, but if you order something else it’s alway over cook or salty!!! It is a shame because I used to love come here!

Have been to Potbelly’s for Saturday brunch twice and it’s a solid 4.5 stars for me(rounded up to 5 because they were close and some of the previous reviews seem to be overly harsh, which I find difficult to understand). It’s a nice café with a number of rooms(appears to be a converted house) and a reasonable sized outdoor area. With having multiple rooms, it has the advantage of being able to host larger groups without it becoming excessively loud. They have a varied menu, with plenty of options for all tastes. The Coconut Shrimp were excellent, as was the Blackened Salmon BLT and the Maple Ginger Chicken(loved the maple sherry sauce!). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will undoubtedly be back again.

Couldn’t even order food. My husband and I just recently moved to the Rockaway area and we were looking for interesting small restaurants to eat at. Pot belly was a complete disappointment. I tried to order a steak and they were out. Then I tried to order a veal entrée and they didn’t have that either. This was a Saturday night so you would expect them to have basic proteins. Don’t waste your time here. They didn’t seem to have anything on their menu.

Surprised that this place only has 3 stars. Such a quaint little café with great food and good service. The restaurant is located in an old little country house right next to the river in downtown Rockaway and the interior is adorable. Our meal was great. We ordered the coconut shrimp and the blackened salmon blt to share and really enjoyed both. Such a perfect spot for a casual breakfast or lunch with a good atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

COMPLETELYIRRESPONSIBLERESTAURANT. COULDMAKESOMEONESERIOUSLYILL. Stopped here for lunch the over day with my husband. It was my first time there. I ordered a grilled salmon salad. The menu said the salad was grilled salmon over romain lettuce with black beans, tomatoes, avacados, and toasted pumpkin seeds. I explained to the server that I was allergic to gluten, dairy, eggs, and nuts. That I was ordering this salad because the ingredients were the easiest for them due to my allergies. And asked for plain oil and vinager for the salad. The salad looked great when it came out. Though was a bit suspicious after a couple of mouthfuls, so I just ate the fish and a bit of the greens. Asked the server to check with the kitchen to make sure that there were seeds in the salad not nuts. First I was told that there was no seeds or nuts in the salad. After giving the server a piece of the suspicious ingredient to take back to the kitchen, I was told they were almonds. There was no owner or manager to speak with at the restaurant. Nor did the staff have any idea of when one would show. They were not apologetic nor did they bother to take my info so that whoever was in charge could get in touch with me. Had to spend the rest of the day overdosing myself on allergy medicine and hoping I didn’t have to visit the hospital.

I used to come here for the soup and grilled cheese with bacon and tomato. I can’t ever come back here again. My experience was horrible. The owner seats me and doesn’t even give me a menu. He asked me what I wanted to drink and I told him water. Ten minutes later, no water and still no menu. I had to flag someone down to get a menu. I ordered my usual, grilled cheese with bacon and tomato and a cup of chili. The chili came first. It was horrible. Super salty and not much chili taste. Then the sandwich came. It was cold, cheese wasn’t even melted in the middle and it was salty as heck! Tasted like it was my full day’s worth of sodium in one sandwich and another day’s worth in the soup. Blah, what a horrible experience. I trued to give it 0 stars but Unilocal wouldn’t let me, so I will have to be generous and give them 1 star.

The Potbelly is a local, homestyle restaurant in Rockaway that doesn’t pretend to be anything other than that. It’s casual, BYOB and low key. We’ve gone a couple of times and were never disappointed. The pasta with chicken, shrimp and asparagus was tasty as were the apps. It’s a small little spot worth going to if you’re looking for something after work without the bells and whistles.

Went here for lunch the other day. I thought the place was charming. Old building near a small river in the heart of Rockaway. The inside is very retro-cool, and they have interesting art in the main dining room. Rockaway has this cool, cultural-preservation vibe that I like. My meal was quite good. The tomato soup is really very good, and I had something I hadn’t had anywhere else before. A blackened salmon BLT. It was quite delicious. If you like cool little cafes that use old buildings for their venues and are completely genuine in what they do, this is a good pick for lunch when in the Rockaway area. Check it out — I really liked it.

What a quaint and homey little place. The décor is like your favorite grandmas house. You know the one that always has the candy you like in her purse. Small tables and chairs that could have come out of a Norman Rockwell painting. Wall paper that everyone else in creation has since removed, but not Grandma. This wall paper suits her just fine. The food is average. I had the Bacon, Cheese and Horseradish toasts. This was OK but I’d offer some suggestions to make it better. The bread is only toasted on one side. So you have a crunchy crust, and top side but a soft«underbelly». The texture just seems off. I would also switch out the creamy horseradish for fresh ground stuff. The creamy stuff looses a lot of the bite and the cream gets into the bread making the texture stranger still. Still an OK appetizer but room for improvement. I followed up with some chili. Again this was OK but no better than store bought and mild heat. For the entrée I went with the rib-eye steak with Bordelaise sauce with a grape chutney of sorts. The Bordelaise sauce was very fragrant and added a special something to the dish, but there could be less of it. The plate was drowning in the sauce. The grape chutney was pretty useless and I think took away from the look of the dish. The pale grapes resemble untrimmed fat and that’s nothing you want to see on your steak. The side dish I chose was the potatoes au gratin. These were cooked nicely but not cheesy enough for my liking. Add to that the fact that they wound up soaked in the Bordelaise, the whole potato thing was a miss. Knowing what I know now I could probably navigate through the menu and get a 3 – 4 star meal here. I went with three stars giving the food two and the service an additional star. They really are friendly and seem very concerned about your happiness. This is service staff that you will fall in love with.
