I feel silly reviewing Macy’s as a whole. So, I’m just going to review my experiences at this specific store. I’ve been here many times over the last few years and my experiences haven’t really fluctuated drastically. They have a good selection of items(especially their clearance and shoe section). With that being said, everything is always fairly organized and clean. The times I’ve been here have always been pretty slow and never crazy crowded. Check-out lanes can be a little hard to find(since they only have so many cashiers open), but I’ve had some pretty great employees that have helped me find the best deals, so I’m not complaining! Their bathrooms are always clean, as well. Parking is easy to find too!

Me no like this Macy’s. Signage is un-informative. Lines to check out… because on a Sunday there are only limited amount of cashiers in different area’s available. It is clean and the staff, for the most part, is helpful. Quality of clothes is good. Sales are really good(make sure you use their coupons). Not my go to Macy’s.

Macy’s has changed and not for the better. In those olden golden days, I could walk in and find a department, and find a category grab a few things and away I went. I went to the Rockaway store last week to find a few casual shirts for my spouse. An endless array of polo shirt were littered around the entire department. Same old shirt everywhere each with a different logo. I wandered about the confusing mess and left. I guess I’ll have to buy LL Bean instead.

I’ve been a loyal Macy’s customer for many years now, but this Rockaway Mall location is disappointing. The entire store is outdated and in need of rennovation, especially the rest rooms. The clothes selection compared to other locations is not up to par, and this year, they hid the Christmas section. It was a small section devoted to Christmas, hidden away from everyone and everything in a dark, dingy section of the furniture department. Christmas music was even noticably missing. I went to Lord and Taylor, and opened a credit card there, and have been a happy shopper since. Better clothes selections. Pricing is about the same. Christmas was not hidden, but located in the center of the store, with Christmas music playing in the background.

Not bad… Macy’s is what I’d call a middle-tier department store. It’s better than JC Penney(in terms of chicness and reputation) but it’s more affordable than Saks. They have a decent selection of designer goods for reasonable prices(Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, and Rachel Roy are a few of my favorites). They also seem to have a lot of Coach handbags, wallets, and shoes for sale(often times cheaper than at the actual Coach store in the mall). Personally, I don’t care for Coach(because I think it’s the tacky brand that people buy to make people think they are rich) but to each his/her own. They seem to have a lot of great sales and often; and there are always coupons in the paper for 20% off for the major holiday sales. It’s a decently sized store that doesn’t get too crowded(except on Black Friday). They have«the Cellar» section with kitchenware and bedding and«Thisit» for juniors and a pretty big kids section. The staff is relatively friendly, though I despise the perfume-spritzing maniacs.

On Saturday May 22,2011 I stopped by the Rockaway mall with my Son to walk around and see if there was anything that caught my eye. As I walked into Macy’s I was greeted by several employees and everyone I walked by that worked at the store said hello. I know that this was obviously something that the store was having the associates do, but I felt it made shopping very comfortable. Even 2 associates who were talking stopped their conversation smile and say hello. Hopefully this was not a one day act that they were doing, but something that they are able to maintain. Macy’s has some of the best name brands and This welcoming attitude makes it easy to make Macy’s your destination in the Rockaway mall. Kudos to the store management!

I shop at Macy’s often and I like the one in Rockaway Mall the best. In terms of selection, you will probably get the best at Willobrook Mall. But I choose to frequent here instead because it is less crowded. Never had a problem getting service, although if you come here on the weekend, you will probably have to wait in the shoe department(no different from any other Macys). It’s definitely worth coming here if you hate crowds like I do.

Ok, I am not a fan of Macy’s. I have been having trouble with them for about 6 months about a wedding gift that I purchased for a wedding in May and the couple has still not received it! I also went shoe shopping there not too long ago and I could not for the life of me get anyone to help me at the register. If you want service… don’t shop at Macy’s!
