Love this little hardware store.
Just like other Unilocalers have mentioned the staff here is super helpful and always nice! I am a totally newbie at building stuff and doing things around the house and places like this make me feel much more confident in my DIY projects. All types of paints, screw heads, nails, spray cans and much more.
I came here the other day with some instructions for some furniture I was putting together and two of the employees helped me around the store until they found what I needed.
Awesome customer service! Definitely wouldn’t happened in chain stores.

I love Browns Hardware! They are always so knowledgable and friendly. I can go in there and ask for «the thing you need to plug up holes in the basement» and they will take me directly to it and tell me the exact name for it. LoL this store is great for a woman like me that doesn’t know the exact terminology for a lot of hardware things but still want to take control of the situation and do it herself.

You get 3 steps in the door and they help you, they put it in your hand, ring you up, and you’re back out the door and on the job ! It’s what neighborhood Hardware stores «USED» to be !

Browns Hardware is a pleasure to shop at. You will not find a store with a more helpful, knowledgeable, friendly staff. I can not choose a paint color without their experienced opinions!

Have you ever seen those commercials on TV where people go into a hardware store and they know nothing, but then the very friendly staff can answer any question, even the most outrageous ones and the customers are saved… Well, that is exactly what Brown’s Hardware is like. You never get that experience at Home Depot or Lowe’s (well once I did, but it wasn’t here in NYC).
Brown’s has almost everything that you would need from a hardware store, and when they don’t (which is rare), they will help you find what you are looking for.
The staff is wonderful and is always smiling. They are so friendly, and they make you a virtual part of the family.
The prices are good and they have quality items in stock. It is a great place to go for paint, plumbing, electric, tools, and all sorts of odds and ends. If you live in any zip code starting with 116 you should definitely check them out (maybe even with a zip starting with 114 or 112). I mean, how many other hardware stores can you buy a wrench at and then go hang out on the beach for a break before you head back home to fix that leaky pipe.

Just what you need in a «neighborhood.» I am new here and they seem to have everything. The people are nice and helpful too.

The best hardware store on the peninsula. It has everything you need from paints to tools to tiles to snow shovels and salt in the winter. You can get keys done here at a low price and it is an ace hardware affiliate so you know you are in good hands.
