Not sure if all the 5 star ratings are because these people rating this place have never had real BBQ or they just feel sorry for this little hole in the wall.
We ordered the sampler with Pulled Pork, Brisket (really this is brisket? Was more like Sliced Roast Beef) and Ribs, accompanied by Fries, Potato Salad and Mac and Cheese.
The driest Mac n Cheese I’ve ever encountered
The Potato Salad was mostly Potato Skin!
The Ribs were the only thing that was good, but that may have just been the sauce…

I first tasted Rolling Smoke BBQ when they were operating out of a truck on the street. The food was good then and has only improved since they moved into a permanent kitchen at Cavenaughs. Love their slaw, it has a real tangy taste. Regular Mac n’ Cheese is made in their kitchen with real cheddar; definitely doesn’t come from a box! Haven’t tried the Bacon Mackey Balls yet… but there always next time. Unlike many BBQ places that use their sauce to make their BBQ taste good, their meat is smoked so well it stands on its own.

The ribs here are so tender and fall off the bone!!! I’ve had the pleasure of being here while they were smoking the ribs and have gotten them fresh off the smoker… delish! The bacon Mackey balls are also another guilty pleasure! The outdoor patio is awesome to eat outside on a nice day!!!

Some of the best from scratch BBQ I have had. You will remember it once you have it. I really enjoy the brisket, it is the best I have had anywhere. The pulled pork is also second to none.

The QC is lacking when it comes to good BBQ. (don’t get me started… Jim’s Ribs is good, but if you match up to any half way decent memphis/​KC/​Texas/​carolina bbq spot. it isn’t even close. It is good! But it isn’t life changing. Anyways…)
This place might be my new favorite. The menu is far from boring. You can tell they love food and they love making some crazy things. The Fried Bacon Mac N Cheese balls were amazing! Or «Bacon Macky Balls» as they call them.
Had the brisket. Sliced *oh* so thin. Melted in my mouth. The wife ordered pulled pork so i had some of that too. it had a great smokey flavor just like the brisket.
These guys know what they are doing. will be going back! So glad to have another BBQ option in the QC!

Rolling Smoke is located in Kavanaugh’s Hilltop Tap. Tried their BBQ ribs. Wonderful smoked flavor and sauce is very good. The Quad Cities needed a good rib place and these will not disappoint. I can’t wait to try other BBQ items on their menu!
