Cheap food, sweet waitress, cozy, dive-in kind of atmosphere. Quantity over quality kind of restaurant, although food still tastes good!

Food, service, and price all great! Salad bar was clean and well stocked. Fish was delicious and onion rings were perfect.

Went there on Sunday for the first and definitely not the last time. Service was great, food was great, hush puppies in paradise. What more could you want? The salad bar is small but has everything we needed.

My husband and I were skeptical due to the appearance on the outside but we were pleasantly surprised after eating dinner here one night. The hush puppies, calabash shrimp, baked potato, and salad bar was delicious! We will definitely return!

I’ve been to Pier 51 on numerous occasions. I have never had to wait long to be seated. If we have had to wait, it has been no more than 5 min. One of the reasons I like going is for the salad bar. It is not a huge salad bar, but it has just about everything you can think of and want on a salad. The food portions are plenty big. I usually have to get a box for leftovers. The last time I went I ordered the Canadian Skinless Flounder. It was delicious! The small plate had 2 big pieces of fish and I got fries as my side. The fish was very good, and had no fishy taste. I sure hope it will be as good next time as this time because that is what I’ll order again.

Have driven out here from Rock Hill a few times, but our last time I actually got sick eating the fried oysters. The sides are really bad: greasy onion rings, tasteless overcooked veggies and tons of heavy hush puppies that just lay in your stomach. If you like quantity over quality, you’ll be happy eating here. Otherwise, not worth the long drive.

Very good fried seafood place. It is right by my house so when we need our fix on seafood we always go here! You can get anything salt and peppered. So I always get salt and pepper shrimp and salt and pepper catfish. There is also a drive thru window so you don’t have to get out of your car when you call in take out orders! I would have given it 5 stars but I don’t like their onion rings. They are always soggy and just plain bad.

Pretty good place overall. We went around 5pm and it is a very old crowd that eats here. I tend to look at that in a positive meaning the food will be mildly seasoned and easy to digest. When we ordered we were asked if we want it seasoned with salt and pepper. I gave the server a look of confusion. She then said it would taste better with salt and pepper. She was right it was seasoned well. I assume this must be a common question because of the older crowd that eats here. It was not the tastiest food but not the worst. Not sure if I will go back mainly because the ambience was not welcoming. You can tell regulars or locals frequent this place and new comers are stared at. Well at least that’s the experience I had.

I had the fried salt n pepper catfish and calabash shrimp, it was pretty good. I’d say average for a fried fish place. The salad bar was worthless though, lettuce was wilted and gross. However the service was absolutely awful. It is not crowded at all and we have been waiting for over ten minutes for our waitress.

Everything is tasty. The salad bar is very clean. I was impressed every time. If you ever come here ask for Mavis for your waitress.

Tried the combination platter with three items and was not impressed. Need to go to the fish camp’s in Gaston County and learn how to properly fry fish. Overpriced for what you get. I definitely will not be returning to Pier 51 in Rock Hill!

Seems to me like this restaurant is a hit or miss. I have eaten at this restaurant on many occasions. Sometimes it’s excellent. Other times not so good. The salad bar is always excellent. I’ve even stopped in and picked up a salad to go. It’s only open for dinner so there’s usually a crowd if you go early. The people are very nice so it is worth a visit.

Superb seafood. Huge portions. Sweet tea, hush puppies and coleslaw are down home good. I always eat here when I go home for a visit. Update: Ate here last week and the food is not as good as the last time. Just didn’t meet the high standard they set before. I’ll probably go there once or twice a year now.
