This was my first massage and I was looking really forward to it. First, let me say my massage therapist was Wonderful!!! She knew exactly where my pressure points were and since my appointment, my pain and tightness I was feeling have been completely gone. I am able to sleep better and feel so much better overall. I would give Massage Envy 5STARS if my experience when leaving was not so negative. After my massage, I was so completely relaxed and ready to start my day. Everything had been such a pleasant experience until I was ready to checkout. Upon checkout I was presented with the option to pay for a membership. I felt as if the membership was more so «pressured and pushed» on me right after I exited the massage door. The employee spoke extremely fast about everything concerning the membership and would not take NO for an answer. She was extremely pushy and at that point my relaxing experience had just turned into a negative experience. She really started to irritate me as she was being so pushy and wondering why I would not join– asking for reasons. The conversation should have ended at No, Thank You. For this reason, I will not be returning and this is a shame because like I said, my massage therapist was Fabulous!

I frequent this Massage Envy sometimes as often as once a week. Angela is an amazing massage therapist! She’s educated in trigger point therapy, and very strong but careful about how her massage feels(making sure she does not overwork the muscles). She helps immensely with my work-related physical stress and my weekly visits(which in currently overdue for) are money extremely well spent. She’s also very relatable and kind, which is nice as well. The front desk is great as far as handling appointment scheduling and they were sweet about it the one week I had to reschedule. The only reason this had 4 stars instead of a resounding 5 is that I sent my fiancé in with a gift certificate to see Angela(which he LOVED!) and he told me that upon checkout the front desk was ridiculously aggressive about trying to get him to sign up for the membership– pushy even after he declined several times. This makes me very wary of giving gift certificates as gifts to friends and family in the future. Personally, I’m satisfied with my service and will continue coming here.

When I moved back from Florida, I was so thrilled to see Rock Hill had FINALLY got a Massage Envy Spa! I had an experience with this clinic in particular when I had come to visit a few months prior to moving back — to say the least, it was an awful experience(I’ll explain later). I was skeptical to give it another try and then I found out there was new ownership as well as management. After a couple months, I caved and I called to set up my first appointment for a much-needed massage. I was lucky enough to get their Clinic Administrator when I called and I explained my previous experience(along with my conversation with the previous clinic administrator when I complained about the service) and what I was looking for. She completely understood and said that things have certainly changed so I set up an appointment for myself as well as my mom. We went in and were greeted with smiles, instantly I could tell there was a difference in their customer service. We completed our paperwork — it had been awhile, we needed to update — and were greeted shortly after by our therapists. (My past experience: my 90 minute massage session was about 65 minutes hands-on time as they were 18 minutes late to pick us up and ended 7 minutes before our scheduled time. Even though I like a medium-deep pressure, a feather would have provided more depth than the therapist. When I complained, I pretty much got an «oh well» and was required to pay for the whole session.) Due to my past experience, I watched the clock like a hawk. Our therapists actually gave us an additional 5 minutes! I’m not sure about her therapist, but my therapist kept asking(not too much, probably 2−4x throughout the session which is adequate) about the pressure which was spot on to what I told her when we started. Her flow and technique were perfect. I am definitely excited that the Rock Hill clinic is under new management and ownership. I have already been back for a facial(again, another wonderful service, the esthetician listened to my concerns and pointed out what I even forgot to mention) and was rather impressed as well. I like that I’ve been able to call and get a same day appointment, if not within 24-hours. If you were in prior to the change in ownership/management and had a bad experience, definitely worth trying again! :)
