This was a big disappointment. We had heard of this restaurant solely by seeing it in a local Entertainment guide coupon book our son’s school had sold as a fund raiser this year.(Big mistake going by this) We walked in on a Saturday night and there were 2 other tables with customers — another bad sign for Saturday night. It took forever to be waited on and it seemed as if the cook was the person waiting on us. This person seemed annoyed or out of sorts. She did not ask us if we had been there before, recommend anything from the menu, or overall have any interest that we were there or not. The food was mediocre. Dull salad and frankly I don’t remember what we ordered other than it was dull. The best thing we ordered was a ginger ale drink which was quite good.

I will join the enthusiastic wave of praise for Erin’s. You won’t know the menu until you get there as they are continually changing due to availability of goods. Of course there are some standards, like fried green tomatoes, but they make a concerted effort to change offerings. And they do it well. The interior is nothing to brag about, hard surfaces and tables well spaced out, so it loses any coziness. The rather dull interior falls our of your perception as you take in the home made soups, unusual salads and the nicely plated mains and sides. Even the hummus is special as it is served on a large plate and lots of pita wedges. Three of use delightfully slurped our way through it. Soups very good. Wife had the burger with fried green tomato, as she is a sucker for those fried green things and I had a pasta that was terrific. One server seems to be enough and she(that day) was able to manage the tables as well as keep in the right sequence. Iced tea is sun flows continually, and so does very good coffee suitable for a name brand corner location. Prices are reasonable. And there is a large city parking lot within an easy walk, so parking is not a problem.

After 16 months in a permanent location &6 years in the business, ERIN’s RESTAURANT in Rock Hill is CLOSINGFORGOOD with one last seating New Year’s Eve. The restaurant owner was featured on the front page of the local paper on Dec.28th and stated«Rising debt is the reason for closing.» That says it all.

Ate at Erin’s with my family last night. Everyone had a terrible experience. The food was extremely slow to arrive and when asked the waitstaff said they were short staffed. We saw at least four employees and we were one of three tables. When food did arrive it was lukewarm at best and quite bland. We were willing to wait for good, hot food but what we received was neither hot nor good. Our waitstaff was not knowledgeable and seemed quite put out to be asked questions about the menu. So to sum it up, lackluster food served cold by waitstaff that just don’t care or have simply given up. Too bad, it’s a great dining space and layout with outdoor seating for the warm weather months. If you are looking for a nice property to open up your restaurant, check this one out it will likely be vacant soon.

Friday night, not a big crowd. My So had been there for lunch, but had never had the dinner service, so we thought we’d give them a try. We were a little hungry, so we started of with the ‘warmed’ brie. It came with an assortment of unpackaged crackers, it was not the greatest I’d ever had, but it was fine. She ordered the Hot skillet cooked Cod: I had the Shrimp & Grits. Her fish was very well done, nice flake still flavorful, some grilled veggies and rice. Still brought out on the skillet, with a little sizzle in it. I had the Shrimp & Grits. A few more shrimp would have been nice, they were perfectly done! The grits were very rich and creamy, and the tomato/ham sauce was very delicate, many times it’s over salty but the chief has a proper and light hand with the spices. We split an apple/cranberry cobbler, without the cranberries(kitchen ran out) as good as it was, it would have been perfect with the cranberries. It was almost too sweet. The only disappointment was my coffee. at best lukewarm and a bit over strong. Service was above par.

For all the issues I had with my dinner, you’d think i would rate them lower, but it was all made better by Erin herself, stopping by the table, apologizing and rocking my world with one of the best dessert parfaits I’ve had in a long time. The fresh berries, perfectly ripe and sweet mingled with a lemon curd and crunchy lady finger type cookie was out of this world. While its probably not as healthy as I’d like to believe it was, it goes to show that customer service and a great dessert can turn any dinner around. Again, I am glad I choose to go local when eating in new places. Ill definitely be back to give them a shot again when I travel to SC in the future.

The food is made with all fresh(not canned or frozen) ingredients and prepared in a healthy but incredibly delicious manner. Beautiful and clean interior. Our server Sam was so nice and happily answered all 20 of my questions with a smile. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because none of our food was hot(just barely warm). Definitely would go again.

Walked in to an empty restaurant with ALL of the white tablecloths very wrinkled…(it bothered me). Ordered a glass of ice water with lemon and there was a crack down the entire side of the glass… Then I ordered the scallops with EXTRA grilled veggies, because I’m not a rice pilaf or potato fan. umm, three skimpy(emphasis on skimpy) scallops showed up on my plate with veggies that maybe had been grilled, but the temperature of the entire meal was lukewarm so I asked the waiter to please reheat(HEY! I know I should have left at this point, but I was starving!). Then the chef walks up to me and says… DOESTHATMEANYOUWANTYOURSCALLOPSCOOKEDALLTHEWAYTHROUGH…*um, why yes it does! …so then a NEW plate was issued(it had a different background on it now) with hot veggies and my two poor scallops browned. hey, food was hot, I ate it and just for a joke I asked what was on the menu for dessert… my waiter mentioned a pie, but he couldn’t tell me anything else about it cause he had never tried it… geez… GO elsewhere, Erin needs to decide if she wants to run a restaurant or run around smiling at guests and telling everyone how delicious it is going to be… Oh, best part…$ 23.98 for 3 scallops with veggies and ice water.

We absolutely loved the food. Sweet potato casserole was delicious and I thought I made the best. Broccoli Casserole was phenomenal. Mac and Cheese was a little dry but we were eating at closing. My husband said her collard greens were some of the best he had ever eaten. It was expensive for a Sunday Lunch but the food was extraordinary.

Visiting in Rock Hill yesterday, Saturday, we had reservations. We were greeted promptly and shown to our table. These are lovely people and try very hard to give a fine dining experience. We spoke with the waitress and the owner who are both musicians and also are committed to environmentally sustainable products. The chosen appetizer from the menu was not available because the figs had been popular the night before; this is understandable and in a way a good thing but it should have been pointed out before we ordered it. The wine list is disappointing and much too limited in scope. After mentioning this, we were presented with two wine specials which turned out to be quite good. The stuffed mushrooms arrived on a sizzling platter, and though very tasty, some of the stuffing had burned. The warm brie was unlike any brie I have had, both in texture and taste, and I don’t recommend it. The house made bread was good but is an odd pairing with oil and balsamic dip. The pork chop was outstanding, juicy and flavorful and clearly one of their best offerings. The new steak salad with ratatouille was a hit, as well. The rib eye was a good size, not too thick, and cooked medium rare, as ordered. It was delicious and came with mashed potatoes and green beans. The fresh beans cannot be cooked and held! It’s more trouble but they must be cooked to order every single time or they begin to turn a bit gray and go mushy. The flourless chocolate cake was the favorite dessert; there is obvious care taken in making this. The peach shortcake was a delight, as close to that homemade taste as it’s possible to find in a restaurant.(SC peaches have been in now for only a few weeks and I got my first basket earlier this week.) The peach cobbler was also excellent. Based on this, diners at Erin’s must plan from the start to include the desserts. At $ 6, they’re priced just right. I’m glad to see them in this location now. It’s downtown but there is plenty of parking in the back. This restaurant should help bring some life to evenings in Rock Hill. The local community really should get out and support what they’re doing; I know I would visit again when next I’m in Rock Hill.

What a lovely place! The food was delicious(I loved the collards!), the service was attentive and friendly, and the price was fair. We enjoyed a Sunday Brunch. The Pulled BBQ Chicken was a real treat. Between all of us, we tried all of the vegetable sides. The highlights included the chilled strawberry soup, the collards, the mac and cheese(it’s the south, if it ain’t meat, it’s a vegetable) and the apricot casserole. The service was great, highlighted by the owner stopping by just to visit. She is extremely nice and it’s a nice touch. Just a nice place!

Overall: Delicious, fresh, seasonal, and sassy. Call ahead and get Family Style and the chefs will pre-select the best items of the day. The Good: Wonderful local(Carolina Sourced) food. There is a menu that changes daily depending on what could be found, but the real treat is to call ahead and ask for«family style» which leads to a salad course, a meats-n-sides course, and a dessert course. The knowledgeable, kind, and sassy staff who can tell you where the food came from and how it was made, and make accommodations for food allergies and other food intolerance. The night I went the dishes that sang were mulberry smoked pork barbecue, Thai cucumber salad, Honey Glazed Chicken, Baby Red Kale that was so sanguine it turned the garlic red, and the creamiest Mashed Sweet Potatoes I have ever tasted. The other dishes singing backup were the waldorf and avocado salad The Bad: If you love something, the seasonality of the ingredients mean it may not be there next time. you may have to call to see when the restaurant thinks it will be coming back. Be thee warned: Fair disclosure, I went with my family and my father paid, so I didn’t feel any sticker shock.

Disclaimer: this is my husband’s review, I myself have not yet partaken of this food, however, I do trust his palate. Husband went here with his sister. Soup to nuts everything was very VERY good. He had the pork chop and sweet potato mashed potatoes, both of which were excellent. The drink list was good. Dessert was key lime pie and coffee, also very tasty. Key lime pie, though served warm, was good even though it wasn’t what he was expecting. Overall service was extremely attentive. Sis, the other family gourmet, also gave her meal a big thumbs up. Definitely worth another visit(this is why I am OK posting this review because I’m going to visit next time he takes me down on a family outing :-)

It was the most personal meal that I can recall having. The food was«make your mouth happy» delicious. Reasonably priced for what you get and the ambiance is cool. I will return every time I get close to Rock Hill. It is so worth it.

i took several work friends from out of town to this place and they talked about it the next day. what better way to describe the experience. at first glance you don’t expect much. the restuarant is open and simple. if your first time you even begin to doubt your decision to stop in considering the more upscale options down the street or in charlotte proper. any doubts subside as you see the place quickly fill up and the food starts coming out. another indication is the unique and extremely qualified selection of beer and wines. the pimento appetizer is simple… but we had to order a second. the flavor of the pork chops from the dry rub was amazing. we all demolished our slices of real key lime pie. it is simple i think that you will like dinner at this place.

I signed up for Unilocal just to be able to rave about this restaurant. Erin provides the finest local sourced meat vegatables and seafood available anywhere. I have never tried a dish that I didn’t love and we have been her patrons since the beginning. Her new location is beautiful and spacious with great wait staff and a good selection on the menu. If you are looking for local organic fresh food prepared with passion and love, look no further than Erins.

As good as advertised. You can really tell the difference with the fresh vegetables they use. Had the veal — it was very good. The owner, Erin, said they are moving around the corner soon.

Wow, I wish more restaurants were like Erin’s. She supports local farms and buys seasonal ingredients to provide deliciously fresh and organic dinners. We went with some friends and she served our meal family style. We started with 4 different salads… I can’t even remember the names, but they were delicious! Then she brought out freshly cooked vegetables, trout, and a red meat dish. We had two different desserts… a chocolate cake and an apple cobbler. As she brought out each item, she told us where she got them and how far away each farm is. Food and education! Now that you’ve seen the solid 5 stars, the food philosophy, and the assurance you’ll get a great dining experience, you’ll want to save your pennies to get here. It’s pricey, but you get what you pay for and you contribute to a way of eating, growing, and producing. For two of us, it was over $ 60(without beverages). Oh yeah, you can bring your own wine. Hopefully in June or July Erin will relocate to her own restaurant down the street(she is currently sharing a space). Go, enjoy… you won’t be sorry!

Erin’s is family style dining at its best! Erin provides a number of seasonal dishes throughout multiple courses. The meats are fresh and the vegetables local. Erin advocates sustainability and leaving a much cleaner footprint by keeping with fresh, local produce. The dining experience is fun and casual. If you aren’t big on meeting new people, don’t be alarmed, a bottle or two of vino will warm you right up. If you are a vegan, vegetarian, or have gluten issues… Erin’s can accommodate you if you call ahead. I can’t say enough about how wonderful the food is. Erin is a true diamond in the rough… or Rock Hill. Erin’s is open Thursdays through Saturday… evenings only… and Sunday for lunch. For those of you that have dined with Erin at the chef-side tables at Durango before, this is her new location… but same great food! **What a great addition to rock hill! **Erin’s also supports the local Dorothy Day Center.
