Amazing customer service and selection. The staff really know what they are talking about.

I stopped in last night for a last minute purchase. I found out they were getting ready to close but the staff was still very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back to look around the store when I have more time. They were able to help me find what I was looking for to make a recipe. The price was very reasonable. I was most taken with the courtesy with which I was treated. Sadly that has become very rare these days. The location is very convenient and the store was nicely laid out.

What’s not to like? Very friendly and helpful staff, great selection and nice prices. Abundant supply of New York State wines to enjoy. The store is always immaculate and I don’t have one fault to find! Why go anywhere else?!

Kind of on the expensive side. I’m used to BevMo on the west coast and their prices are decent. But I guess the convenience of it. The staff seemed friendly, the older gentleman was nice and used to be a mechanical engineer.

I was looking for a gift to celebrate and being from out of town. I went to the Internet to search for a local place that had wine. As soon as I walked in I was distracted with the variety of choices of wine, whiskey and other types of alcohol. A staff member approached me and asked if he could assist, after discussing what I wanted and offering some suggestions, I purchased what I needed and a little extra.

Large store its deceiving, lots of treasures you will find. They have a fine wine room. I was impressed by it and the prices. If you cannot find a wine, spirit, or whatever your silly seriously. I believe they have a wine club card. Prices on spirits are pretty good and they also have the paperwork for the send in rebates. It’s next to Wegmans which is convenient but it’s not owner by them. If your in the area go in, take a look. Staff is helpful and not all over you(unobtrusive) which is a plus and they are very knowledgeable. Enjoy

My go-to liquor store because it’s so close to RIT. They have a pretty decent selection of liquors, though they don’t have many cognacs. They have a pretty good wine selection though, at pretty good prices! Don’t forget to swipe your Wegmans card!

I wanted to buy a case of wine for the holidays, so I called around to half a dozen well known liquor stores in the area. Not only was my wait on hold for a case price the shortest for whithouse but of any of the stores but the price was the best as well. The friendly staff got me exactly what I wanted and I was in and out in just a few minutes. I particularly appreciate the cashier, Olga taking the time to gift wrap a bottle for me, most liquor stores don’t do that anymore. Great prices and service, what more can you ask for in a liquor store?

Right next to Wegmans, which is so convenient! I like how the wine is laid out by region(CA, NY, etc.) as well as by price in the middle of the store(i.e. $ 10 or less, $ 20 or less). The selection isn’t too large, but good enough. I picked up a bottle of Pinot Grigio from the Finger Lakes and Pinot Noir from CA. So far so good, so I will be making a return trip on my next grocery run.

Whitehouse has a well-balanced selection of wines and liquors, but maybe not as much as some of the neighboring competition. If you are looking for a pretty large selection, Marketview may have more of what you’re seeking. There’s several reasons why I like Whitehouse. The store is convenient located right next door to Wegmans which makes it easy to access and ‘kill two birds with one stone.‘ Also their customer service is very good. With each visit the staff has been quite welcoming and are always more than happy to answer any questions that we have about selections. Most recently I had a few questions about wines and Alex made a few great recommendations for moscato. Another interesting thing that they offer is shopper club discounts on select products. We picked up a cheap bottle of Chardonnay and actually saved two dollars as a result of using the shopper’s club card. Now this can come in handy if you’re purchasing greater quantities for a celebratory event and you’re looking to save a few bucks. Other specials offered include discontinued selections and mail-in rebates. The store is very easy to navigate with appropriate signage placed throughout the aisles. During the weekend, they sometimes offer samples, from which we almost always end up purchasing something. Now that I’m noticing more and more specials, we will probably shop here more often.

Don’t others have the same issues with Whitehouse, Lisa’s, and Century cornering the market on behalf of the«Wegmans Empire» as James B. notes? I don’t think it’s a good thing when the laws that are written in this state to thwart monopolistic ownership are skirted to drive the other mom and pop places out of business. Overall, I have mixed feelings. I enjoy the selection that places like Century offer(less so am I impressed with Whitehouse — more aking to Jeff K’s assessment than James). But how in the world are we allowed to use Shoppers Club cards at these«independent» locations when there’s not supposed to be ownership of liquor stores by food chains? Let’s just change the law and allow Wegmans to put everyone out of business so we can all enjoy the same wonderful shopping experience and pay the same high prices everywhere. By the way, a good liquor store is one that has a true selection of scotches and gins. If you don’t carry Miller’s Gin, and you haven’t heard of it(staff at Whitehouse), then you’re not a real liquor store. At least Century will order it for me.

Best liquor and wine store in Rochester, hands down. Involved in the Wegmans empire and it shows in the presentation of the place. The Wegmans font is everywhere and you can get some discounts with your Shopper’s Club card. But the real thing that sets this place apart is the staff; always helpful, knowledgable, and wonderful people. Their wine selection is broad and consistently cheaper(at least for the stuff we buy) than any of the other large liquor stores in town. Their bourbon collection is always well-stocked with some rarer stuff, I don’t have the knowledge to assess their collections of other spirits. The clearance section is always full of great deals, really allowing us to try some new wines that we otherwise couldn’t have afforded. And their Tuesday night tastings are incredible, always healthy pours, often some really quality wines, and always entertaining. They’ve won our business, no question!

I love this place! The staff is great and eager to share their knowledge with you. Being mostly a beer and scotch drinker myself, I always struggle picking a wine, but their suggestions led to me finding several«staple» wines that I can always turn to, which makes me look like I know what I’m doing! Win!

I have to admit, I kind of expected more from this place. First, the good: nice selection of scotch and bourbon. All the usual suspects covered, and a decent selection of higher end stuff. Noah’s Rowan’s Mill, Booker’s for $ 56.99(good price). Glenrothes ’94 $ 66.99, Glenlivet 18 Yr $ 79.99. Tons of the flavored vodkas that these punk kids are drinking nowadays. Now the bad: many Finger Lakes wineries not represented. And the worst: the Tequila selection was downright embarrassing. No Casa Noble, among other notables missing. Only 3 top shelf tequilas(Gran Patron, Don Julio 1942, and Jose Cuervo Family Reserve. As far as Rum goes, the absence of Ron Zacapa Sistema Solera Gran Reserva 23 is inexcusable in my book for a wine and liquor store of this size. Tons of parking, and conveniently located across Hylan Drive from Marketplace Mall, right next to Wegmans.

Being that I visit Rochester once in a while, and often for holidays, one needs to buy booze. I am so pleased to have stumbled on this store a few years ago. The customer service is excellent, the selection is fabulous and there is often a free sample to sample. I particularly appreciate the depth and variety. I see things there that I don’t see in most liquor stores. Thirsty and or cocktail time? Now you have a reason.
