Valenti Sports

I happened upon Valenti Sports during my foray into local-​only Christmas shopping (which is a ton of legwork, btw!). They didn’t have exactly what I was looking for, but I’m super psyched to have discovered a nearby alternative to Dicks.
It’s a small-​ish store absolutely PACKED with gear. Everything you need to play lacrosse, soccer, and an entire wall full of paddleball — which apparently started in Rochester, who knew? If you told me Valenti Sports was the preeminent paddleball shop in the world, I would not question that.
Since this place has an obvious focus on sports that are popular locally, I was a little surprised that I didn’t find anything for disc golf. I’ll just leave that one hanging out there in the Great Suggestion Box That Is Unilocal.
Definitely a great place for outfitting an athlete, but lacking typical gifty stuff — such as lawn games, toys, jerseys and team gear. Several (non-​pushy) salespeople asked if we needed help; this seems to be a place to go when you’re on a mission — «I’m looking for soccer cleats» or «my daughter wants to try out for the lacrosse team, what will she need?»
We didn’t grab anything during our visit, but I’ll be back — I am in want of a pair of indoor soccer cleats. And a soccer ball. And some athletic ability, but I’m afraid they might be fresh out of that.
