US Post Office

This is a busy location, with a lot of customers and almost invariably a long wait. There seems not to be enough people on staff, and with the recent instability of mail delivery in my area, many people are coming in for parcels that have been undeliverable. This means the people working the counter are off in the back searching for packages that often aren’t found. I would be lax in mentioning that I often get stuck behind a person who doesn’t know what they are doing or understand the rules of mailing packages. The clerks explain things 2 – 3 times, and I never seem to get out of here in under 20 minutes. The silence save for the ticking of the clock, and some exasperated sighs from other customers lets me know I’m not alone it this.
This location is within walking distance, I would prefer to walk here than drive somewhere else. More often than not, I make it a point to get in my car, drive a few minutes, enjoy the scenery and go to another station and be in and out in just 5 minutes.
I’d like to say that I hope things here at this location improve. But I’ve lived in this neighborhood for 10 years, and while it’s worse that in previous years, nothing much has changed.
