Just like any other diner. Not that special and the food didn’t really amazed me. For its location I would expect it to be better but not that goo in my opinion

Where do I even begin? It’s the frog pond. Local to only Rochester, their brunch is out of this world. Therefore, you need to check it out. I always get the Crab Cake Benedict. It is my go-to dish and it’s wonderful. Plus, I can’t find it anywhere else. So why not? With the right hot sauce, the flavors just pop. Once in awhile, I will splurge and get something on the side(i.e. bacon, toast, sausage, home fries, and much more); however, I personally think the sides are a bit pricey. That’s okay. I’m willing to pull out some extra cash to fill my stomach with deliciousness. Although the food puts you in a coma every single time, the wait to be seated can range from seconds to an hour(depending on how busy it is). Unfortunate at times, but still worth it. The layout of the place is pretty neat. They have mirrors located everywhere — probably for individuals like me who stroll in sweaty from the gym or with a hangover. Both are fine right? They also have the option to sit outside when Rochester weather permits or at the bar in front the kitchen. But I realize you put yourself at risk for starring at the food constantly. I’ve been here many times and don’t plan to stop. Therefore, you should come here too!

So, I remember the Frog Pond from high school… the cool, cute, little place you go to sit outside with your friends or enjoy the intimate space inside… that was in 2005. Now, I’m 29, and I didn’t have that same perfect experience. I ordered the breakfast burrito, which came with broccoli, mushrooms, and onions. It was alright, but there was NO seasoning on the vegetables, and scant on the cheese. The potatoes were also not seasoned at all. Had to add salt and pepper to them… I don’t remember the exact name of the dish my boyfriend got, but it was under the«egg» category of the menu. It was the tofu hash dish, and my bf asked to have no tofu, but bacon instead. Well, since it was under the«egg» category, we assumed that eggs would be involved. Nope. It was just black beans, corn, onions and bacon. And toast. haha. Our server was very nice and brought out some scrambled eggs, but the dish still didn’t seem quite right. After reading some of the other reviews, I realize I should have ordered something else! Oh well. Regardless of the blandness of the food, we still had great service, and it was a perfect way to enjoy the 80 degree morning.

All I can say is this place SLAYS. Been here a few times when I was and wasn’t pregnant and I’ll tell you what I wasn’t the least bit disappointed! Fresh warm food, decent/standard pricing. Always busy so you know it’s a trusted place to go for brunch. The only downside was against their will which was the amount of bees hanging around their outside dinning area… They must wanted a nibble of the tasty maple syrup on my Belgian waffles ;)

The best breakfast Sammy ever!!! I ordered the breakfast sandwich with eggs over easy, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato on French bread and it was more than I could have asked for. My boyfriend ordered the same thing on a bagel and he loved it! Service was fast. People were great. Looking forward to going back :)

I came here hearing many good things but it was just a hype. I got the French toast and bacon and it not anything special. I wouldn’t go for another round

After several solo visits to the famed Frog Pond on Park ave, I feel comfortable reviewing it. Located in the hip part of Park Ave, this oddly named brunch joint seems to be a go-to choice for a weekend meal. The cozy space inside is packed with tables and booths and equally filled with people, although coming a littler earlier in the morning has typically allowed me to beat the late rising rush. The food is solid diner food, but I have been more impressed other places. I try to go for breakfast staples like bacon, eggs, and some sort of carb to get an idea of how well the restaurant can handle the basics. The eggs have been consistently dry, the bacon is crunchy and the plain pancakes(I have not tried the much raved about FP caramel banana pancakes) are almost too much. The service has been good in my experience and the atmosphere is well suited for people watching. There is very nice sidewalk seating in the warmer months that allows you to spend more time getting some vitamin D! Parking by car can be a hassle, so bring your walking shoes just in case. 2 wheeled transportation is also a great alternative to ensure closer parking.

This is one of my «go to» spots for breakfast. I can’t, for the life of me, figure out why everyone seems to prefer the place next door?! The place next door is so overrated. The Frog Pond has better food and atmosphere, in my opinion. Their pancakes are great and they are usually offering a seasonal or special kind, like pumpkin in the fall. Their banana pancakes are crack like addictive, they’re so good. The Frog Pond burgers are pretty legit too. You can get them medium rare which is a necessary in my book. The bacon blue cheese burger if probably my favorite. Their buns are excellent! Ha-ha! Also, they cut their own fries, so I’d suggest those. They do have sweet potato fries, but they come from a box unlike the previous mentioned. Jess is an awesome waitress and who doesn’t love blue hair?!

I have only been to the Frog Pond once for breakfast, so I can’t say definitively if this is a good or bad restaurant. I will say that the food was very good when I went, but the service was a bit slow. After we were seated, it took a while before we saw a menu, and the food seemed to take longer than it should have to come out. When I got the check, I saw that they had charged us for a second coffee(and I don’t drink coffee), but they kindly took the extra charge off of the bill when we brought it to their attention. It wasn’t the smoothest visit, but the food was good. Frof Pong is just down the street from me, so I know I’ll be back for breakfast again, and hopefully the experience will be a little better.

After living in NYC for over 3 years I love visiting Rochester because I know I can get a fulfilling meal at a reasonable price. My cousin and I stopped in on Sunday afternoon. It was completely packed, as expected. The hostess informed me that it would be about a 15 – 20 minute wait. Thankfully it wasn’t too cold outside so we were able to sit and chat outside while we waited. The wait ended up being more like 10 minutes. Right off the bat I noticed one of their specials was a pumpkin pancake, ummmmm I was sold right away. Along with my pumpkin pancake I ordered a side of bacon and scrambled eggs. My cousin ordered the John Wayne omelette and a side of breakfast sausage. I’m not sure what was supposed to be in her omelette but she mentioned that there were a lot of vegetables in it but I think she enjoyed it. I fully enjoyed my meal with the 2 glasses of Malbec that I washed it down with. Our server was super spunky and attentive. He made our dining experience seamless. I’d definitely recommend this place to others and will definitely keep it in the back of my mind the next time I visit Rochester. I’m sure I will return since the menu was so extensive and there were other things I’d love to try.

I’ll be honest, I totally love The Frog Pond. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner, I can always find something delicious on the menu, and the prices are 100% reasonable, unlike many other Park Ave spots. For breakfast, you can’t go wrong with the sauteed banana pancakes. They are crazy good, but might destroy you in terms of being a functional human for the rest of the day. Food. Coma. My fave burger they offer is the Napa, with brie and roasted red peppers. Doesn’t get much better than that! Frog Pond is a surprisingly great place for burgers– kind of a nice secret. Atmosphere is really cute and quaint. It’s small, but not uncomfortably so. I’ve found the servers to be friendly and prompt. Definitely a good, reliable restaurant with great food.

To change things up, I went to Frog Pond for an earlier breakfast last Saturday. It was a gorgeous morning, and they didn’t have too bad of a bee problem, which was a plus. The service was pretty good, but it seemed like the waiters didn’t have a set station. We were taken care of by a bunch of different people, which made wait times longer because no one was sure if certain tables had been taken care of. Love the friendliness, but they need to reevaluate their system. It took a pretty long time to get an order in, and get our food. I got the crab cake benedict. It was everything that I expected it to be, very good. The home fries were pretty cold though by the time they came out. I think that if I were to come back I would try one of their pancake platters.

Years and years ago we purchased a certificate here and made the mistake of ordering from the lunch menu. At that time nobody in our party was impressed by the food and so we never returned. Anyway, fast forward to 2015, my niece suggested we give Frog Pond a try and I hesitantly made my way to Park Ave. I am so glad that we did! We dined for a late breakfast and the food was very good. We recommend trying Frog Pond for breakfast. Frog Pond is a casual boutique style restaurant with limited seating, keep this in mind if coming with groups. Dining here is easy going and you seat yourself wherever you find an empty table or booth. Their menu is lined with breakfast foods including awesome mimosas of various flavors. The food was very good. I ordered cinnamon swirl French toast topped with strawberries and whipped cream. My oldest niece ordered cinnamon swirl cream cheese stuffed French toast and the my other niece ordered the famous FP frittata. Our server was very kind and attentive. Prices are also very reasonable here, it is an ideal place for a nice brunch with the family. Overall, everyone enjoyed their meals.

This is Kermit The Frog reporting for Sesame Street News. This is their 100th review. I wish it could be a more positive one. I ordered the Frittata, but unfortunately Miss Piggy ate most of it. Nevertheless, I can say it was dry, disappointing, and thoroughly overrated. In fact it didn’t have any of the things I wanted or expected in it, so I sent Miss Piggy back in, and after a long conversation, it emerged that we’d been given the wrong order, and overcharged. The establishment was really nice and offered a replacement frittata and gave us the difference back(but not all the money back), we declined the frittata because we were already full on the dry crap that we didn’t like(no idea what it was… hash browns with something). They were very nice about it and gave us a gift certificate for $ 10 to use anytime at Frog Pond. Unfortunately we’ve never used it, and in retrospect, they really should have given us the money back. If they’d given us the money, they’d have gotten 4 stars despite me not enjoying whatever it was we ate. I also find the place to be significantly overpriced. Now back to Bert and Ernie getting it on in bed as usual.

This is hands down, my favorite restaurant on Park(and one of my top 5 in all of Rochester). The breakfast food here is amazing, the burgers are spectacular(anyone who goes to Blue Wolf for burgers is insane — walk across the street and have one that is ten times better). Its small — so if you try to go at 6pm on a Thursday/Friday/Saturday, you are going to have to wait. There is some outside seating which is perfect for a nice afternoon lunch or evening dinner. I always try to go at off hours(2pm, 10am, etc) so I can get a seat without waiting too long. I have never had a bad meal here — and I have been at least 50 times. I have tried so many different things I can’t even determine what my favorite is. They have a number of beers available and a decent wine list too. The servers are always friendly and helpful. My parents always request to go there the couple times a year they venture up to «the city» to visit me(we are from a very rural town out in the sticks). My dad raves about the baked potatoes(his favorite thing in the world to eat).

A nice place to come if in the Park Ave area. I’ve never had a problem with long wait to be seated aside from Sunday at brunch time. Staff is friendly and helpful enough. Kitchen generally runs on the slower side. However, I’ve never been blown away by the food. I’ve tried multiple items and have found most of them to be quite bland… and if not bland, overwhelming. I was very excited to try the Bloody Mary but it was much too spicy for my taste. Maybe that was a one time thing because a lot of the other reviewers seem to love it? Idk but I’ve never ordered it again. Otherwise, weather permitting, it is a nice a location on Park Ave to sit outside. Inside is cute and decorated nicely. FP is satisfactory enough but I wouldn’t go out of my way to recommend it.

This is one of the best breakfast spot’s in the Rochester area. The location is tucked right next to Jines along the upper Park Ave. area. I decided to come here for brunch, before a long fun-filled day of beauty. The inside of the restaurant is very quaint. I went right to the bar-stool area where you get to see the kitchen in full production. Everything they make at the Frog Pond is fresh, right down to there caramel sauce on pancakes. Speaking of the caramel sauce, I have never seen so many people order that to go. The manager Andy is really helpful, and very friendly to all of his guests. Even at 8:30AM in the morning, the restaurant started to get jam packed. By 9:00AM, there was a long line outside the door. I knew what my game plan was going in there, based upon what I read from my fellow Unilocalers before me. The menu was simple, with a focus on a few fresh entrees done right. The kitchen seemed to have everything under control the entire time i was there. Andy did a great job supporting the servers in the front of house. BARDRINKS– I went for there popular Bloody Mary’s. The drink itself comes inside a HUGE mason jar, with a long celery stick. I did not think I was going to be able to handle such a tall stalk of celery in my jar. The Bloody Mary was made from top notch sake, which Andy recommended using organic sake. It had just the right amount of spice to it, and the jar was so HUGE. I ended up getting tipsy before 9AM in the morning(totally out of character, but I had to get the Bloody Mary experience). Ironically in history, that Sunday happened to be called«bloody Sunday». BREAKFASTENTREE: I went right for the Crab Cake Benedict(thanks Ebbie P.), which proved to be the BEST choice. The poached egg’s on top where delicately balanced, with a light poke to let the egg-yolk out. The homemade hollandaise sauce drizzled on top of the eggs tasted creamy, and was thick in texture. The crab meat underneath tasted incredibly fresh, I watched as they packed the crab meat for the Benedict by hand. The only bad part of the entrée was the English muffin on the bottom, mine was a little hard, and tough to pull a part. If the English muffin is tough as your base, the whole entrée starts to fall a-part a little. It still tasted amazing with all the layers put together in one bite. Overall– Get there Early, Bloody Mary’s, Crab Cake Benedict, Inter-personal service, Friendly Staff, Caramel Sauce, FRESH ingredients, and the Celery Stalk… I will be back for there Banana Pancakes.

Cute and cozy place to have brunch if you’re in the downtown area. The wait times are usually pretty long, but they do their best to accommodate you asap. I do find that every time I come it’s very nicely decorated for special occasions. We went the day after Valentine’s Day and there were hearts and flowers everywhere. I did notice that they had a Valentine’s Day dinner menu still up so maybe it was set up for that. Maybe I was just really smitten with the nice little red rose on our table too. Any place that serves good mimosas already deserve an extra star. The food is pretty good– I had the banana pancakes the first time I went and recently had the crab cake Benedict. The banana pancakes were good for the first few bites, then got a little overwhelming with all that caramel. Crab cake Benedict was delishhhh though. Highly recommend.

I just recently came here for brunch because I wanted pancakes and they were offering their pancake proceeds to Officer Peirson’s family. We called ahead of time and learned we could not put our name on the list but was told there wasn’t really much of a wait. We got to the restaurant 15 minutes later and that changes. The wait for 30 minutes. It took 1 hour to be seated. We could have gone somewhere else but everywhere pretty much had a 30 minute wait so it did not make sense to put our names on their list. We probably should have because we may not have waited that long. Once we were seated everything was great. Our waitress was nice and attentive. I got the chocolate chip pancakes with hash browns, Adam got waffles with strawberries and whipped cream on top, my dad got pancakes with sausage links and my mom got the frittata. It took barley any time for our food to come out which was the best part of it. I had just ran the ½ marathon and we waited an hour to be seated so I was very hungry. All of our meals were good. We loved all of our meals but it seems our sides were lacking other than dad’s sausage. Adam and I both had the hash browns and they were very bland. I hate using salt and pepper on my food but I had to add that on because there was no flavor to the potatoes at all. My mom got toast and her toast was dry and they did not provide her with butter. There was some jam on the table so she just used that but I feel butter should have been provided and it should not have been asked for. The process were very cheap. with our meals and drinks it came out to be just under $ 10.00 a person. For that reason alone Adam and I would come back to try something else… hopefully when the wait is a little less. Other than the wait the only negative I really had was the people around us. It was very clear that the restaurant was busy and there was a long wait yet there was a group of people who sat at their table for another 45 minutes after they paid before they left. I thought that was rude and inappropriate. If they wanted to continue to talk they should have gone somewhere else.
