Well, I never thought that I’d be patronizing this place again, but my company has a special deal with them for safety glasses, so I decided to use it. When I went to pick out my glasses, I was helped fairly quickly by a ‘jittery’ guy(didn’t catch his name, but he couldn’t sit still), who was helpful and thourough. He took all the measurements, told me it would be 7 – 10 days until they were ready, and I paid my co-pay. A week later, I got a call telling me that they were ready. I set aside an hour the next day, and went down to get them fitted. Boy, what a difference a week makes! Wheras the day I went to pick out my lenses I got good, fast service, the day I went to get fitted was a different story. I waited 10 minutes just to get through the receptionist, then waited another 45 minutes to get fitted. The glasses were done correctly, but I actually had to demand the side shields that were the whole reason for buying safety frames in the first place. All in all, I would have to say that I got what I paid for, but considering how little I paid, that’s not really much of a compliment. They seem to be able to make lenses correctly now, but customer service is highly variable. I would suggest that you budget at LEAST90 minutes for each trip there. Selection is merely good, nothing special. If it weren’t for the special my company gives, I probably wouldn’t bother using them. At least they’ve improved in the last 3 years. ***Update*** I went back for a second fitting the other day(the ear-holds weren’t quite right from the first fitting-that’s what happens when you rush it), and got better service then. I was also trying to figure out just how much lenses in my new prescription would be for my everyday glasses, and all I get is a vague answer of «about $ 90-something». Not quite sure why they can’t just come out and give me a bona-fide price. I’ll be checking to see if Wal-Mart optical can give me a better deal. At least they will quote me a final price. BTW, I got a call today from them asking if everything was OK with them. So, at least they are trying(at least a bit). I just wish they would get more people to serve customers in the store.
