What an adventure to walk around downtown Rocheser. Numerous shops, restraunts, artist shops and the Cupcake station, yumm. All the stores are dressed to the nines.!! Multicolored light adorn every business… what a show of Rochester area Christmas spirit. Families are loving the horse drawn carriage rides. Great deal in all the stores. I especially enjoyed Lucio georgous Jewlery store. Everyone needs to come downtown to experience this small town celebration. You won’t regret, it I promise you.

I adore downtown Rochester and how much the DDA care for the community and store owners. I follow them on facebook and they are always having contests. You can also stay up to date on events like sales, wine tastings, ice carving festivals, big bright light show, royal park, the farmers market… you name it! My favorite thing I have participated in is their secret shopper program. I get a 25 dollar gift certficate and get to go shopping, in turn I mail the DDA a survey… it shows that they really care. The big, bright light show is stunning. I also love that they fundraise to financially support the georgeus show of lights. There is always something going on like Bride’s day or currently is restaurant week. Their web page helps you stay afloat to new businesses. I love the DDA!!! Best around. If you do not know what to get someone, you can contact the DDA and get a gift certificate which is good for everything downtown from restaurants, to salons, gift shops, fine jewels, shoes, bikes, yarn, pilates… EVERYTHING! Best gift idea ever!

The awesome Big, Bright Light Show in downtown Rochester has started! I can never tire from looking at it! I urge anyone who hasn’t had a chance to see this to grab a cup of coffee or tea and head over to downtown Rochester to view the coolest display of lights! I researched some details about it and the light show is put on by the Rochester Downtown Development Authority(DDA). I’ve noticed they keep the lights on from 7 – 11:00p.m. each night. According to the downtown Rochester website, the show ends on January 4. I also clicked on the light show brochure under the events link from the website. The brochure detailed how you can support the DDA with continuation of the light show by joining their membership for $ 35.00. I’m thinking of getting the membership since I love seeing it each year and it helps keep it going for the community.
