Try and try again… Fails every time. Horrific service, cold flavorless wings. Will not be back… At least for another yaw or so.

This is a pretty typical townie pub, but the food is well worth your time! The wings are some of the best around, and in general portions aren’t skimpy. The buffalo garlic parm sauce is awesome! Just don’t expect stellar service…

We were out and about heading to Henrietta, and I suggested we stop at Quimby’s for a bite. I had been here once before and had a burger, so I figured it would be a good place for a nosh. I was quite wrong. I thought it was odd that we were greeted by a couple of tables stares, maybe this is a regulars-only establishment. We decided to seat ourselves after noticing that no one seemed interested in assisting us. The only thing that got to us quickly was our check. Our food arrived roughly an hour after we sat down. If they were slammed I could understand it, but there were only 4 other tables and maybe 6 people at the bar. My friends enjoyed the chicken gyro and my wife liked her BLT, but my Buffalo chicken wrap was terrible. There were more chunks of blue cheese than chicken, and more hot sauce than both! Luckily the water we ordered when we got there arrived 30 minutes later, or I wouldn’t have been able to eat any of the wrap! We actually were about to pay for our drinks and leave to get food elsewhere when our orders arrived… looking back, I wish we had. I really can’t figure out the poor service, and am nto sure how you mess up a simple wrap, but I don’t think I will be returning. Way too many places nearby with great beer selections and better offerings.

The soups are incredible and wings are great. The selection of liquors and ever changing microbrews is on par with the finest bars around Rochester.

I went to JB’s for the first time for their Tuesday night wing special: .55 wings(10 min but BC and Celery are included.) After reading the Unilocal reviews I was expecting much more of a dive but this place had a nice pub feel(if you can ignore the drop ceiling). The place was unusually busy(according to the server) but had a fun atmosphere, especially for a Tuesday night. There were patrons of all ages from RIT students to retirees and a soft tip dart league group to top it all off. I knew I was there for wings and sensed the servers stress so I kept it simple with 10 wings, a small order of tater tots and a good draught IPA. The food and beer came out pretty quickly all things considered. Now for the wings: The wings were OK. I liked the sauce and quality of the wings but I think they weren’t cooked enough for my liking. I got their«Hot» sauce and Yardbird which is like Boss sauce. The Hot sauce was not hot at all but had a unique smoky flavor that I really liked. They have a «XXX Hot» that I’ll have to try next time even though there is a small upcharge. I could easily have given 3 stars for the wings alone but taking into consideration I saw hundreds of wings coming out of the kitchen I’ll give them a break on not fulfilling my «crispy» request… this time. I will certainly be back to JB’s if not for wing night than maybe to check out another one of their awesome specials.($ 6.50 Guinness Burger w/Side as I write this review and %5.99 for anything on the menu on Mondays) I think the beer selection and service is solid and if the wings can really hit the mark this could become one of my favorite places in Rochester.

Good food, bad service, and inconsistency with food. Three of us got the same wings and only one was juicy with enough sauce

First off, get the poutine! You won’t regret it. The nachos are great too and the rest of the food is also great! Every time I come here I always have a great time. Not to mention that the bartenders and servers are very friendly. All around a fun bar and restaurant that you can come to any day of the week!

Below is a letter I wrote to Quimbys at the end of April. I never received a response. Things you should know 1. This is my first Unilocal review 2. The door handle is still broken(last time someone checked.) 3.) not sure if my assailant still works at this fine establishment 4.) no one ever replied… unreal! Please enjoy and share with everyone you know. I have been coming to your establishment for several years now. I travel for work nearly 8 months of the year and when I’m home I like nothing more than visiting my favorite watering hole for a relaxing evening with friends. I enjoy a good beer, solid food, fine service, and knowing that my bartender knows my name and what I like to drink. I am not your average patron as I have worked in every type of bar /restaurant imaginable over a span of 15 years. From«Mom n Pop» beer and shot joints to 4 star restaurants, I have run the gamut. I have bellied up to bars in over 40 countries and nearly every state in America. So when I say I’ve been around, I mean it. In all of my time in the industry and on the road I have never been so angry that I felt a need to write a letter. In short I’m not one to write Unilocal reviews, we all have bad days. The two incidents that I am going to speak to happened a while back and I have battled with bringing it to your attention as I hate the thought of possibly taking $ out of someone’s pocket or potentially food off their table. Then I thought well if I boycott my favorite bar, I lose out… you lose out… your staff loses out. The person who essentially assaulted me and my guests… he is the only one winning. He is still employed and my lack of business is taking $ out of everyone else’s pocket. As I sit here on Friday afternoon pondering where I am going to go this evening I think«Sure wish I felt safe going to Quimbys, that used to be my favorite spot. I don’t know if I can keep my cool a third time.» I then realized that this had to be said no matter what the outcome. A couple months ago I was in your bar for a couple hours towards the end of the night. I will admit that I had been imbibing. After my third visit to the restroom I noticed that the men’s bathroom door handle had been neatly reattached by masking take. This is something I had noticed for a few months at this point, and in that moment I felt the incredible urge to break some balls. How on earth could you and your staff allow such a over site. It’s a $ 15 fix… it’s been months… fix it!!! Someone is going to hear about it. Mind you, this is nothing more than late night banter between me and a well liked bartender. Also, I feel your bartender that evening knows me well enough to know that I am just giving him a hard time and I know it’s not his responsibility but in fact management and the owners. The bar was fairly empty at this point. It was just my girlfriend, a mutual friend and two gentlemen sitting near the waitress station. I had blocked out their conversation for over an hour at this point. They were clearly well on their way to optimum euphoria which I assume was powered by more than just alcohol. I felt it best to ignore them and go about our business as we did. 12 years of Chicago public transportation taught me well on how to block out such drunken gibberish. Anywho, I am giving the barkeep a good ribbing about men’s room door handle. My friend turns to me warning of the impending attack from my right. The two men at the end of the bar had stopped their ignorant dialogue and placed their sights on me for reasons unknown. One of them held the other back while he screamed at me, I quote…“Get the fuck out my bar! I will fucking kill you! That’s my mutha fucking job! How dare you insult my work!” *note~there may have been a faggot comment in there as well. Apparently one of these gentlemen works at Quimbys and he is in charge of handy work. Well you could imagine my surprise. Not only did I not mean to offend someone but to think they would threaten my life over their craftsmanship… wow! Blood pressures rose and cooler heads prevailed. I did for a short time fantasize about being 21 again and not having a care in the world. That of course was short lived and we gracefully paid our tab and left, but not without further comments thrown our way while we exited. We did not return for some weeks after this incident as once our own heads cleared we thought«What the hell happened? Why would I ever go back there if they allow people like that to work there? Do I really want them cooking my food? Do I really want to share the bar with them after their shift?» To be continued in the photo section of Quimbys. There is a text limit on Unilocal… so I posted screen shots of the letter if you care enough to continue reading.

I really like Quimby’s. I’m influenced by the fact that it is within walking distance of my house, but every time I have gone I have experienced good food and good service!

I stopped by just based on a recommendation from my cable installer, and I am EXTREMELY happy I did. I ordered a burger from here and and let me say it was phenomenal! Nice fresh ingredients, very tasteful! I am disappointed far too often when ordering a burger from places, it’s a simple item and if you can’t get it right chances are not too much on the menu is good. I had a few drinks with my burger and the night got even better when I got my tab! I am very satisfied with the service and even more so with the food.

Zero stars… Went with my girls last night. Watched a mouse scurry across the shelf by the Stainglass windows. Mentioned it to the bartender. She freaked out and screamed, MOUSE!!! The whole restaurants turned to see. Our waitress played it down as if it’s no big deal and she sees it all the time. She offered free drinks. I WILLNOTRETURN!

The food was great at Quimby’s! I ordered a burger with jalapeños and cheddar cheese which came with curly fries. I loved the burger and of course the fries were great! Wings were an appetizer which were also good. They were ordered mild and I prefer medium. I thought the wings were lacking sauce but were crispy and were ‘jumbo’ size. I highly suggest Quimby’s if you are in need of inexpensive bar /American food!

Really? Fish fry? Not even close. Hope the owner is ashamed of himself. This is ridiculous. Three small pieces of fish???

I can’t rate the food because 56 minutes after ordering the food is still not here. Menu looks great, lots of beers to choose from. Smells a little like old beer in the entrance, but I can live with that. I’m pretty annoyed. Very underwhelmed. It’s crowded bc everything on the menu is $ 6. We were told it was coming right up about 15 min ago. I’m now 2 min away from saying we’ve been waiting for an hour. Our waitress is pretty nice. The gum under the table tastes pretty good so I have that going for me. The ketchup looks like the right shade of red. Booyah. It’s been an hour and here it comes. Well 2 people’s food did. Not mine. Oh well back to writing. The Cobb salad looks amazing. So does the steak sandwich. My gum is starting to lose its flavor. Ok good it’s here. More later. Wings were luke warm but really crispy and would probably be good if they hadn’t sat. Food came out sporadically. The last person got her burger 10 min after the first two plates came out. It was hot huge and looks like a great burger. The tater tots were piping hot and amazing maybe the best I ever had. Trying to be fair here but an hour wait is just ridiculous and had I need driving I would have left. I like this place for beers but I’m super disappointed in the food. Our server tried but there is no pleading a table that waits that long.

Great fish fry! One of the few places that get everything right… it’s one thing to get the fish right, then add great fries and tasty cole slaw. All the right ingredients for your classic haddock fish fry. Lively atmosphere, great selection of beers and a decent Riesling for the Duchess.

Stopped in on Monday before a 6:30p appointment in the same plaza. Arrived at 5:45p and sat at the bar for a drink and a quick dinner. Little did I know… everything on the menu is $ 5.99EVERY Monday for Dine-In only(and upcharges apply)!! Great deal! The place was packed! There were only 2 open 2-tops! I ordered a drink from Ollie and placed my order a few minutes later. I mentioned I had to leave by 6:25p and he said no problem. Time passed, the patrons at the bar were friendly, the beer was refreshing and then it was 6:15p. Ollie checked with the kitchen who said the food would be out in 5. Unfortunately that didn’t happen and I left the bar with no food in my tummy, or in hand. I told him I’d be back in an hour and we could try again. Arrived an hour later and Ollie had placed my order 10 minutes earlier so it would be ready with almost no waiting. GREAT service! An hour later the restaurant was half-full and service still attentive. I had to get going so he packed up what I didn’t take a few bites from and I headed home. The food was subpar. I actually think the cook set my order aside from earlier and may have just reheated because the ‘raved about’ tots were soggy as were the chicken fingers. I read positive reviews on both so I went with a tried-and-true I thought? They had good flavor… if that counts. I would rate this 3 stars because I was so disappointed in the food but I plan to try again on a different Monday when I have more time to stay and eat fresh food. The service earned this 4 stars. **If you head in on a Monday, prepare to have a drink or two before your food arrives. A $ 3.25 beer pint special, $ 5.99 meal and some open time in your schedule will probably have you reviewing Mondays with 5 stars.

Only stopped in for a drink with friends, but have a few thoughts to leave here. Great beer selection for the kind of place this is. It’s a pub, or maybe a sports bar, with a typical bar atmosphere and food, from what I can tell. However, it offers many local beers on tap. I grabbed a Rohrbach’s Scotch Ale. Took a long time for me to get noticed and place the order though. Two bartenders walking back and forth but even leaning in with my wallet couldn’t get their attention. To be fair, it was a busy night. I just like to be acknowledged. If you’re in Henrietta and want a good beer, I recommend it. Try to avoid prime drinking/dining times though.
