Best coffee I’ve ever had in my life! I don’t get the chance to come here too often but every time I do I am always impressed. They will always be my favorite coffee spot in the area. It’s such a cute place. My husband and I think it’s a perfect spot for something great to drink. I wish they had more locations in the area. Love it!

Java’s is a café that is very hip and trendy feeling, based on the décor, ambiance, and clientele of the place. It’s not like going in there without looking hip(me on almost any given day) makes you stand out like a sore thumb, so at least it’s still a very welcoming place. The coffee is pretty good. I’ve tried a few of the specialty espresso drinks as well as the cappuccino. All of them have never had a flaw. The service is decent. It’s weird that there’s no official line so people behind the counter just make rounds on who needs to order still. Prices are pretty fair too. The pastries I’ve had here were mostly scones and a cookie, but they all tasted really good. It’s a pretty solid café to stop by and get some good drinks and food.

There are always tons of people here, even early Sunday afternoon, like today! I eyed the pastries and giant Rice Krispie treats and cookies, tho I restrained myself to my delicious Kashmiri chai. Topped with a healthy bit of cinnamon and perfectly warm for this chilly morning, it’s worth every minute of waiting(only like 5 minutes for the drink to be made). I introduced my friend to java’s and I think she’ll get to enjoy more than me since she lives in the city!

Let’s talk ESPRESSO. Holy Cannoli, Batman(their cannolis are also awesome), don’t bother going to Spot Coffee down the street; if you want robust, full bodied espresso get your booty to Java’s, it’s the best hole-in-the-wall coffee joint in Rochester. It’s predominately littered with students from the Eastman School of Music(practically co-joined with Java’s) but you see a fair range of all ages here. The counter service ranges from apathetic to friendly although no one is nasty so this doesn’t bother many. It’s a great place to: +Work: the art covering nearly every inch of wall space creates an inspiring atmosphere +Socialize: lots of seating upstairs AND they have billiards downstairs +Go on a Date: I spied on a date at the table next to me once… it seemed to go well so maybe there’s some good juju in that…

From a smooth Americano to a wanderlust adventure in a cup with some Aztec Hot Chocolate, Mike and his staff can sweep you off your feet. On a summer festival day opt for a kinky reggae or chilly winter day like today dive into a much of hot chocolate with fresh Pittsford Dairy whip cream and chocolate sprinkles. And yes they have almond milk, gluten free cookies and vegan treats. Grab a drink, a treat and settle yourself at a table to take on one of the funkiest and grooviest cafes in town.

Every time I visit my Hometown I stop in Java’s before I head out. This is one cozy spot to relax and have a Fantastic Cup of Coffee or Tea. Great Atmosphere, Friendly Baristas, wide assortment of Sweets and plenty of tables and chairs… Kaboom! One Fine Place!!!

Great atmosphere and always a nice place to come and relax. The noise level can be a bit high in the evenings but the excellent magazine selection on hand more than makes up for it. I opt for the flat white but their brewed coffee is solid as well They also have a small selection of desserts such as cookies and cupcakes. Cookies are a nice size for sharing. All in all a good place to come kick back and relax. However, this wouldn’t be my first choice if looking to be productive as it does get quite loud.

I have very mixed feelings about Java’s. I keep going because it is conveniently located to my office, but I’m not sure if I would recommend it to a friend. Pros: –Location –Good atmosphere, there is a ton of seating. –Baked good and sweets are always on point. –The very wide range of different coffee beverages and tea selection(everything from Turkish to frappés.) Cons: –Parking, I park at work and walk over but it is a nightmare parking in this area. –The god awful customer service. You literally have to stare someone down and say«excuse me» 5 times to get the attention of anyone behind the counter. Also, I’ve worked in the service industry, I would never dream of having alienating private conversations with my co-workers in front of customers I was helping. –Pricy, a large coffee is like 3 bucks. –The fact that they steam milk right in the styrofoam cups they serve it in –The fact that I have never seen a barista use a thermometer for any steamed beverage.

love love love Java’s! Definitely a great place to go whether you have a paper to write, meeting up with a date, or just catching up with some friends. The atmosphere is very interesting and definitely one-ups any other coffee shop in the area. I usually grab a terrapin which is delicious. Sometimes I cave in and indulge in a cannoli which is a little above average. One thing I really like about Java’s is the downstairs pool area. Nothing like grabbing lattes and playing a game of pool with some friends. Being a college student at RIT from the NYC area, Java’s is a place I really miss when I go home for breaks.

This is one of my favorite coffee shops in Rochester because of its great vibe and central location. Any day is a good time to come here, but my favorite of all time is during the XRIJF — the Jazz fest held at the end of each June that turns Gibbs street into music central. Java’s is predictably PACKED and the line usually goes out the door, but nothing says summer like a Kinky Reggae on ice after all the music is over. I love to sit with a friend or two and talk about which piece of art we like. Another favorite time is first thing in the morning after hitting the gym. A cup of Pittsford Dairy chocolate milk and a bagel make a great breakfast as I dash to my car for the morning rush. The coffee — my friends who are very into roasting, pouring, and complex flavor profiles have made snide remarks about Java’s brews, but for the social coffee drinker that I am(honestly, more than one cup a month is rare for me), it tastes just fine. The only negative is most of staff seems very unfriendly compared to other local coffee shops. A little smile and sincere«thank you» go a long way when it comes to customer service.

Good place to get a change of scenery and selection from my regular Starbucks stops. Very interesting café. Seating is plenty. Diverse range of patron. The location is conveniently located near other attractions within walking distance. There is a coin operated pool table downstairs. You can get a quick game or two in, but go to a pool hall for real serious billiard players. Once in a while stop for me at this café. Not a bad place to meet for a quick date.

Java’s has been and continues to be a great little spot downtown. I remember my days as a member of the summer youth programs at Eastman and going into Java’s for a drink. I remember the college years hanging out at a hip place in town with friends. And Java’s still delivers. On a recent Friday night, I met a friend at another nearby coffee shop to study. We take a language class together, and wanted a relatively quiet place… well, a place where we could at least hear each other. This other coffee shop didn’t do. Live music is great… but not all the time. So we moseyed on over to Java’s… well enough before the post-Eastman performance crowd let out. We were able to order quickly, grab a seat near the window, and study to our hearts content. Java’s offered an interesting array of specialty drinks. But I just went with a Rooibos tea. I’m so glad they have this here, and don’t look at me like a freak when I order it(like they did at some chain coffee shop the other day. ahem… star…). The Rooibos tea was delicious, and I was very happy. Java’s also offers an interesting array of patrons. People from all walks of life indeed. I love the eccentric décor. The bench seating along the front window. It’s all a plus in my book. And of course, I’ll be back again sometime.

Java’s is another Good Luck venture and I love it! It’s a hipstery coffee shop, but it’s all fair trade and organic. Large coffee is $ 2.50ish, but any other speciality drink is more. They have a variety of beans for you to choose from, including seasonal beans such as pumpkin. I really love how this place is decorated and that it is fair trade. All of the coffee and teas we got were good. We got: * Indian Peaberry(bean) coffee * Colombian coffee * Half coffee/half hot chocolate * Chai tea — this one takes a long time to come out but it is so delicious * Matcha tea I would suggest all of the above. Would definitely come back here again. They also have non-dairy options of almond milk and soy milk.

The hippest java in town. If it’s good enough for David Byrne, it’s good enough for me! Plus, it’s a nice spot to pick up some wifi with your cuppa. If you’re in the zone, its the best thing going.

Great coffee shop with plenty of seating and excellent choices. We were in town for a wedding and needed our morning coffee fix so we walked over from the Hyatt. Service was prompt and friendly. The décor is eclectic with various quotes written on the mirrors and unique art pieces displayed. It was quiet when we went there but I can imagine this is a great hangout spot since there is plenty of seating that invites you to linger. Our lattes were well made. There is a side room selling tea leaves that looked interesting. The baked goods looked inviting.

Javas. I love the Jamaican me crazy and Irish crème. I come here a lot so make sure you have the coffee punch card.(the tenth drink is free and it can be any drink) The chai tea lattes are more expensive than other places. I still think pour has the best chai tea lattes. The cookies are good when they are fresh. My favorite are the sugar cookies and oatmeal raison. I come here a lot because of convenience. That being said I really do enjoy the atmosphere. Its very casual making it comfortable for first dates and group hangouts. The artwork on the walls make it interesting. Also they have pool tables in the basement. They are always playing great music too. The music is that funky rock/alternative bands that usually no one has ever heard of.

The best place for a young group to get together, get loud and just have fun. The most adorable coffee shop right next to the U of R school of music; so most of the people who come here are usually in their twenties. They are open very late at night! So if you are craving a cup of coffee past the standard coffee time!!! this would be your go-to place. They also have a bunch of magazines from which you can choose some and just go through the pages as you sip on your coffee. For some reason, this is our hang out place. It kind of has a certain vibe! So alive and energetic. As for the food, it is good. There is not one single item in the menu that has wowed me. It is the fun I have had here that makes the food taste even better. All the items are just mediocre, yet not disappointing.

Java’s is one of my favorite cafes to work in: love the ample amounts of table space, comfy seating, and free wifi. It can get a bit loud, but it’s generally pretty manageable. I’ve been going around to various cafes trying out hot chocolates, and I have to say that I do like Javas. First, a disclaimer: I’m neither a fan of the decadently rich chocolates that are so thick that your spoon can stick up by itself, nor am I a fan of anything overly sweet. The whipped cream on this drink kind of pushes the border of the latter, but it works because the rest of the drink is more mellow. Add a shot of espresso to make it a «Shot in the Dark». Good selection of cookies and other snack-type items. Tried a spinach croissant and liked it a lot. Would have been better heated up though. No A/C in the summer though. Sweltering in here!
