I brought my car in with a giant dent on the side door and scratches on the bumper and less than 24 hours later it looked brand new! They kept me updated throughout the process and cleaned the interior and exterior! The staff was extremely friendly and professional!
I will definitely be back in the future! So happy I chose Gates Auto!

Took my car to the Henrietta shop for steering repair, they told me they couldn’t find a part they needed to fix it and its not worth it because its older. Chris told me I could junk it for 250.00. The car runs fine and only has 70,000 original miles was about to give up on it but took it to another shop who found the part right away and fixed it for half of what Gates wanted to charge. These people cant find parts for older cars and don’t even try don’t trust them glad I didn’t!!!

I took my car here after an accident for an estimate because they work with my insurance. The guy I worked with was great — very friendly. However, I would’ve prefered it if they did the inspection of the vehicle infront of me.
While the insurance adjuster assured me that the mechanics had experience working on my car, when I went to leave, I noticed that the hood had just been jammed into place and not properly secured. I had to take it apart and secure it myself so that I could drive home.

In April 2013 the back of my husband’s car was crashed into while it was parked outside of our house. Geico (the owner of the car’s insurance) covered the collision repair to the back of his car. Geico said they would guarantee the collision repair if he took it to Gates Automotive. After weighing the pros and cons of taking it to the dealer, he decided to take it to Gates Automotive.
He was content with the turnaround time and the quality of work when he got the car back. About a week after having the car was back we woke up to his car alarm going off in the early morning. He went to check it out and it was the car’s trunk sensor triggering the alarm. He took it to back to Gates Automotive to have it fixed since it would be covered under Geico’s lifetime guarantee. Gates Automotive offered to deactivate the sensor. My husband said no and asked that they fix the issue. Three days later they told us it was ready, we went to pick it up and the trunk sensor light was still on. We wound up leaving the car because it was clearly not fixed. This was all happening the weekend of the our wedding… one of the most inconvenient times possible.
We got the car back after we returned from our honeymoon.
Fast forward to a month ago when a bad smell was noticed in the car. My husband looked in the trunk and noticed a few items were wet. He then looked under the panel where the spare is located and it was full of water with mold everywhere. The next day he brought the car back to Gates Automotive to be fixed. They said the back windshield wasn’t sealed correctly when they did the collision work. They resealed it and had to order new parts for the trunk because of the mold. When he brought the car back to have the new parts installed they noticed more water. They then decided the issue must be the spoiler and not the back windshield as originally expected.
There is a serious quality control issue happening at Gates Automotive. As of right now, everything appears to be ok but we have no trust that there won’t be another issue.
On the bright side, Geico’s customer service has been excellent and with every issue that’s been reported they have been quick to approve the repairs.
