Great addition to the Rochester restaurant scene! I will definitely be back. I’ve tried a few of their dinner offerings. Absolutely LOVE the Pumpkin Crusted Walleye! Food overall has been good, the only thing that I didn’t really care for was the chicken bacon pizza. They piled almost all of the chicken/bacon on the very center, so there were multiple pieces that only had pesto & cheese. The pieces that actually had meat were good, but I probably wouldn’t order it again. Ambiance is nice, I’ve enjoyed the live music both times(not sure if that’s a weekend evening thing or everyday). I’ve heard great things about their patio — will definitely have to try that out! Service has always been pleasant and attentive, although almost borderline overly enthusiastic, which isn’t necessarily bad. Location is great. Although there is ample parking, the lot is kind of cramped — especially if you drive a medium to large truck/SUV(there are only a couple of rows I’d feel comfortable parking in without being afraid of hitting other vehicles).

Came here for dinner with coworkers and was pleasantly surprised by the décor and food. It’s a sports bar with a pretty large seating area and has clean and modern interiors. Service and food were excellent, I got the quinoa burger and it was filling and delicious. My coworkers liked their meals too, except for one who thought her Cesar salad had too many pickles. Portion sizes are decent and prices are reasonable. There is plenty of parking space. It was loud, there was also live music on Friday evening which nobody was really paying any attention to.

Good food. Good beer list. Wine list could be improved. Love the patio can’t wait to try it. Service was good in two visits as well.

Solid place. I’d say 3 ½ is a bit more accurate but we live right down the road and spend a lot of time here. Brunch is my favorite and the corned beef hash is some of the best I’ve ever had. Dinner is nice too and the food ranges from good to outstanding. Staff is very nice, at times unorganized but the restaurant is fairly new and that may just be growing pains. I like that they serve Left Hand Milk Stout: D A couple of cases that really impressed me. Once I made a comment that the corned beef was pretty tough(it usually melts in your mouth) and the manager came by and took quite a bit of time to apologize and just chat in general. That made an impression. Another time I came here with a very large running group after an early morning run. There had to be 30 – 40 of us and considering the large group the staff handled it well. I shall return.

Extremely disappointing. Very few vegetables on the menu, and the cauliflower side I had was very greasy. Not a good restaurant for those who enjoy vegetables or healthy eating(everything is quite greasy/buttery). The dining area is also very loud.

AMAZINGSALMON! Get the salmon! Those potatoes with the siracha aioli was phenomenal. Definitely a recommended dish from a GFDF person. I will be returning.

GORGEOUS building and atmosphere! We’ve only eaten brunch here, but it was great and portions were HUGE! For 2 of us, with large breakfast meals, a coffee, and a screwdriver, I think the total bill was about $ 25, which I thought was very reasonable. The menu looked almost identical to their sister restaurant downtown, the Loop.

Went to Five West for the first time with a big group. We had reservations and all our requests were honored. The staff is great! Super attentive without interrupting our conversations. The ambience is the regular sports bar, but still very open and clean. I had the fish tacos, they were really good. Very spicy and with an amazing crunch from the greens. Also had the sweet potato fries, which were perfectly cooked: crispy outside and soft in the inside. Got 4 solid stars. Nothing outstanding about it, but still great food and good ambience.

The atmosphere is nice. We went in a group on a Friday evening for a birthday party. The had a live guitarist, which was cool. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, but she didn’t bring any change back when we paid with cash, thereby giving herself about a 35% tip. The menu was very limited and overpriced for the quality.

Went out for a double date, didn’t know what to expect but were thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food and service! It’s pricey but worth it in our eyes! I’d rather pay more for good food and amazing service than pay less for cheap food and mediocre service!

This restaurant is okay. They need a bigger brunch menu and it is a bit overpriced. But the food and service were good! I would just rather not spend $ 6 on a mini mimosa that is 80% orange juice.

Went for lunch on a Saturday. Menu was limited to breakfast items, burgers, wraps. To sum up: the cocktail was warm, the waffles cold, our appetizer arrived after the mains and the server forgot our water. The appetizer was taken off the bill. I will not go back.

Atmosphere: very nice décor and array of televisions. Feels like the loop inside with its modern loft style. Service: wait staff were very attentive. Although we were only drinking water, she refilled our glasses many many times during the meal. She got our orders correct and when I didn’t eat much of the burger she took the initiative to remove it from our bill. She boxed the leftovers for us. She did not leave anything more to ask of her. What we ate: Buffalo chicken wontons — stylish presentation. The cream cheese filling was warm and melted, the wonton crunchy with very nice texture and taste, the chicken was unseasoned and slightly dry. The sauce tastes like franks hot sauce. The overall effect was very tasty and I would be happy to eat them again.

Five West was a great place for dinner on a Sunday date night. We shared the calamari appetizer, which was spicy and well portioned. My boyfriend had the tuna burger, which was tasty, but suffered somewhat from too much bun. I had the pumpkin seed crusted walleye, which was delicious. The fish was moist and the polenta was some of the best I have had. We shared the drunken blondie dessert a la mode, which was deliciously rich. The highlight of our visit, though, was our server, Kayleigh, who was an absolute delight throughout the meal. She provided excellent service and was so friendly! We will definitely be back!

In some ways, this can be called The Loop West because of the common owners and many menu items. But Five West has its own charms and is fantastically located for those living or working a bit outside of the downtown area(or like to frequent Costco — e.g. me). The set up within Five West is pretty odd, with a row of booths along the middle and tables elsewhere. As others have mentioned, it is quite loud too. They wait system using the pagers is pretty convenient but their estimates for wait time are way off. I’ve been here twice now, the first time about 2 weeks after opening and once more recently after the dust has settled. The difference in quality of service was tremendous so I feel like their current score is heavily weighted towards the initial opening experience, which I was not a fan either. My first experience was with their Wood Roasted Pork Chop, an excellently portioned fall-off-the-bone masterpiece that was among the juiciest pork chops I’ve ever had. The turn-around time for this was probably close to 40 minutes so the wait was quite long. I was a little disappointed about them skimping out on the delicious potatoes though. Price for what you get though, is very high. My second experience was just for drinks and appetizers, including an excellent herb roasted chicken nacho, buffalo chicken wontons, fried calamari, and their smoked pork belly tacos. These were all reasonably tasty although I’d say my favorites were the chicken nachos and tacos. Portion size for these were somewhat a problem given their prices(most are more expensive than entrees at other restaurants). They’ll need to re-adjust their pricing to be in line with comparable options in Rochester because these are astronomical in comparison. That won’t keep me from coming back though…

Where do I even began. The service was incredible, the staff were so nice and funny. The food was fantastic. The menu was simple but you still have much to choose from. Don’t get me started on their outfits. Dressed to impressed, but in this case dressed to serve. They really made my birthday a fun night. Well I know where to spend my paycheck.

Service barely pulls this up to 3 stars. Way overpriced for what you get! Classy, upscale atmosphere but not worth the average food, SMALL portions, and hefty bill!

Met a girlfriend for lunch. Nice atmosphere. Wasn’t too loud that we couldn’t talk(1:00). Good server. Decided to try the Risotto and it did NOT disappoint. Loved how they prepared it with soft cooked cherry tomatoes, halved; along with cooked spinach and sliced red pepper. Nicely done. Definitely has me wanting to come back for it again or try out another menu item! Con: Parking lot is lined for small cars, way too crammed. Careful not to hit the car behind you as you back out of your tiny space.

Had breakfast on a Sunday. The atmosphere is warm and rich. Service was on par. While the food looked good, it was average. The pancakes were very dry despite drenching in syrup. The hash browns were good, but perhaps a little on the oily side. The menu for other meals is recycled from the Loop downtown.

Lovely place! I came here for a business lunch on a weekday within their first week of opening. It was about half full. Service was fabulous, ambiance rustic and trendy, we all enjoyed our food. I had the steak fettuccini. It was delicious. The fries are like crack: garlicky herby crack! So good! The brownie actually is an enormous portion consisting of 3 good sized brownies with vanilla ice cream. I am looking forward to trying the rest of their menus. What a great addition to Rochester.
