I was a regular customer here until my experience today. I always order the same thing, 2 gyros, and have never had a problem but today when I got home I found that they had screwed up my order. I called and informed them of their mistake and, since I did not have an hour to drive all the back, asked for a refund when I was able to come back later in the week. I was told that I would have to bring the food back but then when I said that I could do that they changed their mind and said that they would not give me a refund and tried to blame me for their mistake. Nice customer service– refuse to give someone their money back when you don’t give them what they ordered! They just lost me as a customer.

My husband and I came here on a Sunday evening before church. Lots of variety and good service, portions were also good.

If you’re very stubborn and refuse to see that the Garbage Plates and Gyros here are not very good, then you might want to rename it Ostrich Hots. I came here about 6 months ago for 2 items. Garbage Plate and Gyro. Burgers on the garbage plate taste like McDonald’s patties — i.e. tasteless and awful and nothing like meat. The meat sauce is horrendous. All in all: One of the least impressive Garbage Plates(the meat sauce tastes weird) and one of the most disappointing, icky-tasting Gyros I’ve had in awhile. The only reason it gets a 3 is because it’s a family business. But it’s a real stretch to give them a 3. Also for the décor they score 5. It’s nice inside, and the outside wall is absolutely gorgeous. I took a pic of it the other day so you can see how cool it looks. Employees weren’t particularly friendly. Prices were average(in the 6 – 8 range for a Gyro and the 8 – 10 range for a plate), but the quality and taste of the food was where the problem lies. If you’re a huge fan of gyros or plates then sure, give them a try for yourself, but for me, there will not be a return trip. And if you’re someone that comes here to East Ridge a lot, does that make you an Eastridgen? If so, I think you’ll enjoy the food more at Testosteroni’s Pizza.

Ordered delivery from them last night for the very first time. The guy on the phone was great. The prices were amazing. The food was solid. Delivery was speedy. Not amazing, but definitely good. Especially for the price. We recommend!

Some places are not meant to make garbage plates and East Ridge Hots is one such place. Bland hot sauce and poor tasting potatoes. No bread provided either.

Your typical hots place and seems like it is under new ownership and was remodeled. Large portions and good price. I have tried the garbage plate and the bbq gyro and they were good. no complaints. Staff is friendly would choose this location over the location by Tops(Greece Hots)

A new(er) sign outside alerted me to the fact that East Ridge Hots had something other than hots. Or maybe it was just because I took a walk and had time to actually look at what’s around me in my neighborhood. Either way I was set on going to order to a kabob plate for dinner this week. My first impression was that the place is cute. When you enter there are two separate sections– a dining area that is specifically for the Turkish menu with culturally appropriate décor. The left half of the place is dedicated to their American fare. I imagine the one side is for cooking their halal dishes. I ordered and asked a question but the woman I talked to didn’t speak English so we laughed together and then I ordered with an older gentleman. I was getting takeout so I went to grab a few things from the market a few doors down. When I came back 15 minutes later my meal was packaged and ready to go. The service was very good! The chicken kabob was good though not my favorite. I’m not a huge fan of dark meat, and there was no white meat at all. I’m not sure if that’s something I need to specially ask for or not. The rest of the plate was good. The rice was filling, though not delicate. But I did love the cabbage and tomatoes that came with it. I could have done without the onions(very pungent) and my pita was somewhat soggy sitting in the styrofoam box even just a short drive home. I would probably try something different next time… Maybe the Turkish pizza I’ve read so much about.

Your typical«Hots» place. They do Halal food which is attractive for Muslims in the area. Everything isn’t Halal however so you have to ask if what you are ordering is Halal. They have a Halal butcher next door they should just get all Halal meat. I tried this because it is probably the only place in the area that is open late and delivers late! The place itself is in a disheveled plaza next to a dunkin’ donuts and a Halal grocery store. Nothing impressive about the place. Usually filled with people who want to grab a quick bite. Honestly people I wouldn’t really want to be around for a long time for reasons I’ll keep to myself. The guys running this place are Turkish I think and are usually nice and accommodating. The rest room is dirty and needs maintenance. I usually get take out. I mostly get the Gyro in a pita. The meat is tender and flavorful and the Tzatziki sauce is pretty good. The fries are usually dry and disappointing however. I tried some of their kebabs and rice and subs but was unimpressed. They do not taste fresh or good. So now I usually stick to the gyro. Two points for serving Halal food, late hours and a decent gyro.

There were not many Turkish options, I think that their other location is dedicated to Turkish delights. We went in for plates, and probably had one of the worst I’ve had. The big potatoes were not crisp, there are not many choices. Burger, cheeseburger or hots, no beans. The burgers were cardboard.

My father is from Istanbul, Turkey so I am lucky to have some amazing cooks in the fam to recreate the food from Turkey. I have never visited Turkey, but I hear my aunts make everything«just like it tastes in Istanbul!» If you would like to have some authentic Turkish food, and don’t have my aunt to cook for you, then East Ridge Hot’s has some of the best in Rochester. It is fresh and homemade food. My favorite thing they have is Lahmajun, also known as turkish pizza. Ground meat and seasonings are spread thinly over a dough, similar to a tortilla in thickness and then baked. It is so good! Another one of my favorites that they have here is the adana kabob sandwiches. On soft french bread, they put pieces of meat layered with onions, tomatoes and parsley. Sooooo good! If you are looking for authentic turkish food, then I definitely recommend going there!
