This is the second place in ROC I’ve been to that has closed in the last month and I’m starting to get a complex. Not really. But, since I actually enjoyed my chopped salad here, I wanted to take a minute to rate it. Great service. We ordered at the counter, found a table and they brought our order to us fairly quickly. Employees cleared the table as needed and were friendly and efficient. My chopped salad was loaded with grilled chicken and avocado on a mixture of iceberg and romaine. The tortilla soup was packed with flavor and Hubby enjoyed his sliced meatball panini on grilled sourdough. They were offering free oatmeal yogurt samples when I visited in January and it was creamy and delicious. Prices seemed reasonable for the quality and serving sizes of food. Yes, it’s a chain but the food and service were both very good and I’m sad to see them close. Good luck Corner Bakery.

Was just here with a few friends for lunch. They have an awesome selection of sandwiches, soups and paninis and I would highly recommend any of their flat breads. Staff was helpful and attentive. It was busy when I got there but they handled the rush well and we were in and out within an hour.

Stopped by after a Dr. appointment for my 5 year old at the hospital, but I had been meaning to check it out for a while. We came in at a good time, just before the lunch rush. I was nervous at first because I couldn’t find a kids menu anywhere(which is usually an indication that kids are welcomed). I looked online and found one but the disclaimer did say it varied by location. I saw other families there with kids so I went up and asked at the counter. The cashier was unsure at first, but then remembered that they did have one. It was a printed kids menu and was in a box on a shelf, not near the counter. The food choices for kids was excellent though. I love a healthy kids menu and my son ate it all! My salad was good; a little over dressed(but that’s a personal preference). After the meal we got a cookie – my son had been well-behaved. He said it was the«World’s Best Cookie!» and praise from 5 a year-old isn’t always easy to get. The staff were all very nice, but not very confident. They smiled and check on us, which is the best you can ask for. Confidence will come with time and perhaps more training. Over all a good experience I’m sure I’ll be back.

This place is just okay. The food is pretty solid for the most part, but it’s been iffy on some occasions. If you’re in around November, though, I would definitely recommend the Thanksgiving sandwich! It’s a delectable combination of turkey, stuffing, and more on some yummy bread. The pesto sandwich is one I repeatedly order and forget I don’t love. The rocket on it and something about the seasoning makes it strangely spicy. The sandwich is usually way more bread than meat, which I always find disappointing. The salads are pretty good, but keep in mind portions are absolutely enormous. I think the prices are high here for what you get, given that the food is so average. Customer service has also varied a lot for me– one person’s mind was blown when I tried to use a coupon and it took 3 staff members to figure out how to process it. They’re also pretty inconsistent in asking if you’re a UR staff member or student– I do appreciate the discount when I get it! I’ll likely be back, but only because there aren’t a ton of other options near my workplace.

I still don’t get why they have that darn place so darn cold. I can understand that it’s nice to have it cool in the hot summer days, but you shouldnt need to eat with your jacket being an indoor place. Ridiculous. *They’re either cheap about turning on the heat or never heard of heat. Bring a jacket! As for the food, it’s good and price is fair. But hard to enjoy your food when you’re cold and uncomfortable. Could have been 4****!

I ordered a meatball pasta. The waitress gave me a plate of pasta without any meatballs, just pasta and tomato sauce. I thought she gave me the wrong order and she told me they are out of meatballs. Why didn’t you tell me when I placed the order 5 minutes ago? Got Christies the same amount as meatball pasta. Ridiculous!

Awesome soup and they deliver your order to your table. The outside seating is nice and it’s one of the best Rochester locations to people watch. Ryan the manager is friendly too! Collegetown is a vibrant area and the retail spaces are filling up. I noticed there building a new enclosed bus stop by Great Northern Pizza today which is much needed for those bus riders.

My family didn’t want Mediterranean so they opted for this spot. It’s nice to have lots of choices in the College Town area. The service was friendly but the order took awhile. However, it was a busy night with a large event going on. The food is similar to Panera’s but better. The chili had a nice bite to it with a nice amount of cheese. The loaded potato soup was also yummy and similar to one I make at home. Prices are reasonable: kid combos are $ 5 and regular combos around $ 9. We’d come here again sometime.

I have been to quite a number of Corner Bakery locations and this one is especially nice and pleasant. I visited during the Meliora weekend and had both a supper and a breakfast at this location. It’s just as good as the nicer locations in Chicago. They did an excellent job with the pasta ordered. It was al dente and the sauce was quite nice. I also enjoyed my breakfast sandwich. The server got the order wrong, but what I did get was delicious, so I’m at 4 stars rather than 5.

This restaurant is in new CollegeTown at the University of Rochester. We came for a late breakfast. They did not have any oatmeal(they don’t make any after 11AM(but it was 10:45). Other than this, there were no non-dairy vegan options. The service was clueless — our order was sitting behind the counter when I went to check on what took so long. By the time it was delivered to the table, it was cold. Portions are small. For breakfast, do yourself a favor and go to one of many local diners.

Similar to Panera or Au Bön Pain — wide choice of fresh sandwiches, soups, and salads. I love the Asian BBQ flats. Great if you are watching your diet, calories clearly marked for everything and lots of low calorie options. Beverages include unsweetened tea and real lemons is — yea! Been there often and never had a problem with the service, not sure why the complaints.

I like this place. It’s very similar to Panera, but most of the food is done better than Panera does it. Great space indoors and out and makes an excellent breakfast or lunch spot in college town. Prices are a bit high though portions are big. Plus, if you’re a UR employee or student, you get a 10% discount, so don’t forget your ID. Staff is friendly and efficient. I’d definitely recommend Corner Bakery!

First time customer. Ordered a Cuban Press Panini that cost almost $ 9 then proceeded to wait more than 10 minutes while 2 people who ordered after me got their food and left. The sandwich was mediocre at best, and definitely not worth the money. I might go back just for a drink or pastry, but not for a meal again.

The front counter staff was nice and took our orders just fine. Didn’t hear anything about the food I ordered until 20 minutes later. Wasn’t even started, they said it was frozen and needed to thaw. I asked for a refund, and the manager shuffled to get it done, ignoring my request. 5 Minutes later they asked if I wanted a different kind of pasta because they didn’t have the one I ordered. I firmly and politely asked for my money back so I could eat elsewhere. Eventually got my money back and had a great meal at Tom Wahls 9 minutes later. There’s 2 other bad reviews for tonight. Maybe a bad night? Also, their website AND Unilocal says they close at 11:00. They were closing at 9. I would have never even gone in, had I known this. Edit: This place closed for good? Maybe it had something to do with the management…

All of the price, none of the service. The food isn’t as good as its closest competitor– Panera — and their front line service staff isn’t as friendly. They bus your dishes, but I’d rather take care of that myself.

*Within the category of chain food restaurants*, this place and location is as good as it gets. — Walking distance from the U of R Medical Center — Street parking — Fairly quick service; good for the working crowd — Clean atmosphere(brightly lit space; large windows; tabletops were not sticky; no visible rubbish left behind by patrons; etc.) — Reasonably priced menu — Ample seating(both inside and outside) — Friendly counter staff — Quality of food is the same as the other Rochester location(Pittsford) If chains are your thing, definitely give this place a try.

I really wanted to give it 1 star, but limited things are ok… I’ve eaten here 3 times, never better than 2 stars. I’ll go from best to worst. 1. Had the tomato basil soup. Soup was passable, if you like a Campbell’s type of tomato soup. Weird croutons. 2. Wanted the pancake, bacon, egg combo. Asked for eggs over easy, but was told they don’t serve real/fresh eggs. They’re called egg mixture and can only be scrambled. Scratch that. Ordered Mom’s smoked turkey sandwich. Not much you can do to screw that up. It was fine. 3. I had the Santa Fe salad with chicken; my daughter had the Parmesan Crusted Chicken with bruschetta. As she was eating, I noticed that the inside of her chicken was pink. We informed the manager, JeCarl, that it was not fully cooked. He couldn’t care less. When I said serving undercooked chicken wasn’t ok, he was like, well what do you want me to do? I can’t give your money back. I can either cook the chicken more, give you something else, or give you a gift card. Imagine?!? I took the gift card, but I sure won’t be using it on their food. Hope their coffee’s ok…

I’m into this Corner Bakery — staff is friendly, food comes out quickly, and it’s a great space to get some work done or convenient for a meeting. Free wifi is always a bonus and you won’t get booted off like you do some other places…(I’m looking atchu, Panera). The booths are comfortable for long work sessions and there are individual ones so you don’t feel bad taking up space that could fit four. It’s also bright and spacious, which offers some good people watching distraction when needed. The coffee isn’t the greatest in the world and I don’t love their espresso bevs, but I do usually go for a baker’s blend drip coffee to keep me going through the day. Also, I get cashback bonuses as a Discover card user if I spent $ 10+, surprise! I’ve tried a few things here and definitely recommend the soups. They have some larger entrees as well. I’m going to give the mac and cheese a try because I have to. *The addiction is real.* — The chicken tortilla soup is among my fave soups — just spicy enough and a cup is really filling with the dense consistency and crunchy tortillas on top. — The chicken pesto sandwich is also pretty tasty — the ciabatta is lighter so you’re not ripping into it like an angry carnivore. — 2nd and 3rd choices for soup are broc cheddar and tomato basil… word on the street lemon chicken orzo is also pretty good so I’ll be trying that next time I’m there.

A brand new corner bakery is here! In CollegeTown. I have been looking forward to this for a very long time. Considering that this café is in the vicinity of U of R, I guess it will attract a lot of students as customers from now on. I actually couldn’t find this place on Unilocal,so I went in and added it as a new business so I can write a review! Hence I am the proud first reviewer. I love corner bakery, I love the booths, love the coffee and above all I love the breakfast menu. I assumed I would be biased towards writing a stellar review about this place. Notwithstanding my innermost desires, I can’t help it but to give this place no more than two stars!!! The main reason is that the staff are just disoriented, at least for now! I have asked them for a few things in my two visits and they have are just clueless. I would assume that comes as an expected consequence of less experience and that it will get better with time. The portions were definitely smaller than the other franchise in Pittsford. Two of us ordered the«farmer’s scrambler» one of which came with no cheese on top, the other one was filled with it. My dish was cold and unappetizing. The coffee was good though! I like corner bakery as a chain restaurant and I am expecting this place to get better over time. I will keep going back and write another review if things start to take a turn for the better. Till then…
