Catching Fireflies

This store reminds me of a hippie fairytale and I have a bit of hippie in me. There is stationary, magnets, shirts, jewelry, picture frames, and several other items you could think of that would be in this type of store. I bought a Michigan shirt from there and I love it. I got a large and it fits my pregnant belly well. If you are looking for a small gift or something from Michigan I would definitely stop in and take a look. You are bound to find something in there you want.

Best Place I’ve come across to purchase a gift on the fly… for anyone for any occasion. The creativity in the selection makes you look like the creative one… I highly recommend Catching Fireflies for any occasion.

This is the cutest most eccentric store I’ve ever been in! I could literally spend an afternoon perusing the merchandise. I purchased a couple of unique greeting cards while there and will definitely go back for that hard to find gift idea!

This place is the BOMB!!! I am like a moth to a flame level attracted to this quirky fun gift shop of love! There are two locations, downtown Rochester and Berkley. I have been to both. I adore both.
Rochester’s location is in a brightly colored house right downtown. They usually have a vintage bicycle outside with a sign on it. Do yourself a favor and go inside.
If it is a Saturday stop at the farmers market first. They are often their passing out butterfly and bird shape chip clips and 3 dollar off coupons!
Inside you will find darling handbags, retro candy, wall art full of positive affirmations or something surely to put a smile on your face, stunning, unique jewelry, some of which is fair trade, things for babies, things for the kitchen, cocktail napkins, back to school stuff, rainbow makers, brick a brak, nick nack, things that just appear magical… Stuff for pets, candles, college gear, sandwich shapers, my beloved miniature glass figurines, kissing chihuahua salt and pepper shakers, spa treatments, iced teas… all sorts of wunderment.
They have sales, contests, email lists, fb to help keep you up to date.

If you are looking for a gift, they have it! Everything! Lots of local artists display their sellable creations here. From baby shower, housewarming, birthday and weddings, they got it all.
During the winter months there is hot chocolate with crush candy canes and marshmellows to enjoy while shopping. If you want to give a gift the receiver will remember, this is the place to go!

Cute little store off the Downtown Rochester main street path. The store reminds me of the gift shops in the northeast that I’ve been to. Its charming and full of made in Michigan specialty items that they sell for slightly higher prices than I’m willing to pay. However they do have unique looking items for sale that in desperation perhaps I’d be down with if I can’t do the internet. Also they do free gift wrap so in a bind it’s perfect.
It’s a fun walk around this little cottage. Lots of gifts for the ladies and kiddos especially. At the least you can discover the local artists craft.

This is a cute shop, in a funky building, with all sorts of interesting stuff. I love browsing, but I don’t buy much «stuff,» so I’ve only bought occasional gifts here. But it is a very fun place to browse.
