Legit in house roasted coffee from all the best source countries. I don’t know of any other shop in the Rochester area that actually roasts their own coffee like Canal Town. You can catch a whiff of the smoke going to East Ave Wegmans. The owner is normally in the shop roasting away. Free WiFi. Tasty treats. The servers are always cool. Hands down though best coffee you can get in the area.

Not my go-to spot for coffee. But, they have a loose leaf herbal tea called«Create World Peace» that is mouthwatering. Literally. It makes my mouth water. Used to grab a bag of it periodically when I worked across the street. Still have some in the fridge.

Really not a fan of their espresso, but the man at the counter was incredibly friendly. Their iced coffee was good and they had a ton of different blends to choose from. Overall not bad by any means but I probably won’t return often.

They roast beans on premises and really know coffee. Their Rochester Blend is delicious and my favorite coffee anywhere.

Rochester’s oldest coffee roasters. Met the owner Pete at other places including Harts Local Market where they carry their coffee. The Rochester Blend and the Dark Roast Whole Bean are stellar. Pete was manning the store when I came in and assisted me wit my purchases. Try the coffee you will«get it»

So when you’re tired and crabby and you answer how can I help you with«I need something strong and sweet» I expect you to suggest something not look at me like I have two heads. I don’t want to have to think sometimes. Help a girl out Canaltown!

This place is in a weird spot… I don’t even think you’d notice it if you weren’t already in that little plaza. Friendly service and a large variety of coffee beans for purchase. There were lots of tables available and it was very quiet so I think this would be a good place to study.

Went here for the first time to have a latte as I am considering having them cater coffee for my wedding. The girl who was working was very kind and helpful. I had the salted caramel chiller which was very good! It pretty rich and had a great blend of the coffee and caramel flavor. I cant wait to go back and try more stuff out! The only thing I would suggest if your like me I would ask for ½ sweet as I love more of the coffee flavor!

This is another one of my favorite coffee shops in Rochester! It’s a quiet place that’s great for meeting with people, reading, working, or studying. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful to me. I also love their pastries, the coffee cake is my favorite!

I am currently a grad student and this is one of my favorite places to study during the long semesters. This place is small but very comfortable and the music is usually pretty quiet with fast WiFI making it a good study spot. Staff is very friendly and after awhile they get to know you pretty well. The coffee is always fresh and brewed to perfection. Prices are reasonable. Overall, great place to have a cheap date, meet up with friends or getsome work done. Its great to support a friendly local buisness

The only problem with this place(aside from the lousy décor and bad location, that is…), is that they over-roast their coffee, which makes it all taste bitter. Most Rochesterians can’t tell the difference(or maybe they think that bitter coffee is trendier?), but I sure can tell the difference.

I get a cup here nearly every day. Fresh roasted, fresh brewed, friendly staff, locally owned. The varietal roasts are outstanding. I have been a customer since they opened some time around 15 years ago.

Canaltown in Rochester has good coffee roasted right on the premises, all the fancy espresso/chai/flavored/iced things you could want and an assortment of local baked goods. As a kid, my brother and I would try to finish one of their truly enormous Oreo muffins, but, blessedly, their muffins now approach normalcy in both flavor and size. The staff is friendly, there’s always parking(the whole service experience is much superior to Starbucks) and local art is displayed regularly.
