Birchcrest Tree & Landscape

I ordered two face cords of fire wood from Birchcrest Tree & Landscape through Craigslist. The ad stated that the firewood had been «Seasoned at least 7 months». I measured the moisture content of the Red Oak to be above 72%. Freshly cut Oak is approximately 80%. Firewood that is safe to burn is at most 25% and 15−20% is better. One phone call went unanswered. The second time I called they offered to take the wood back.
I measured moisture content using the procedure specified by ASTM and U.S. Forest Products Lab. Wet wood is unsafe to burn due to creosote deposition in chimneys.

Incompetent, Uncaring Vandals Who are Unsafe !
Destroyed some antennas on my property despite the antennas being pointed out to them, leaving debris all over ‚
Then for an encore later that block a road with one of their trucks with no way to get around it or any way to signal the clown who was wearing earmuffs and running a chainsaw that I was blocked in.
They compromise safety to save money (why is there no one on the ground when they do this ?)
Avoid !!!

Several years ago we had Birchcrest out as well as a number of other companies to give estimates for tree trimming on our property. This was not a small job as the estimates were all in the several thousand dollar range. We did not go with Birchcrest at that time. Well the trees need trimming again and we were not happy with the prior company so we called Birchcrest and were only going to get a quote from them and told them we were disatisfied with the prior company. They took the info but when they found out we did not choose them previously they called back and said they would not come out on for an estimate only on a «consult» which meant a chargeable $$ call. WOW! Talk about arrogance, you would think they would welcome the opportunity to gain our business but since they seem to have their feelings hurt they have earned this one star review instead of our business. Plus I get to trash talk them to firends and acquitances.
Way to be customer oreiented Birchcrest, fyi you are not the only game in town.
